Chapter 3
The searing pain in her skull felt like thousands of needles piercing her heart, leaving her speechless for what seemed like
forever.
Despite the severe impact on the passenger side, Finn didn’t spare Harper a single glance. His eyes remained fixed on Serena
in the black car.
After ramming the sedan three times, it was forced to stop, and the occupants quickly fled to their accomplice’s vehicle.
Finn flung open his door, rushed to lift Serena from the back seat, his dark eyes showing anxiety for the first time:
“Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?”
Serena curled into Finn’s arms, turning her head to reveal her tear–stained face. “It was one of my father’s business enemies. They only slapped me once. Nothing serious.”
Her vulnerable appearance made Finn’s heart ache. He roared:
“What do you mean nothing serious? All these years, even when you were abroad, I’ve spoiled and protected you. When have you ever experienced anything like this? And the baby–what if something happened to the baby?”
“I was so scared… you came so late…” she sobbed.
“I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I’ll take you for a full checkup right now.”
Finn carried Serena to the back seat of the Bentley. It took him just ten minutes to reach the hospital, where he immediately carried her to the emergency room.
Throughout all this, he never noticed Harper in the passenger seat, her eyes red, blood streaming from her head.
Watching their retreating figures, Harper tilted her head back to stop the tears, forcing herself to ignore the pain as she pushed open the door and staggered toward the hospital entrance.
Evening rain began to fall, but Harper didn’t shield herself, letting the rainwater soak her wound.
The triage nurse gasped when she saw Harper, quickly treating her wound and taking her for tests.
An hour later, weakened after completing whole examinations, Harper finally checked her phone.
The screen showed more than a dozen missed calls from Finn.
Without hesitation, she turned off her phone.
Anticipating an IV drip until late night, Harper asked the nurse to prepare a room.
In her drowsy state, she recalled past events.
After Finn’s paralysis, she often attended business dinners on his behalf.

Chapter 3
At one dinner, two CEOs got into an argument and flipped the table. Broken dishes flew everywhere, shards cutting her what
When Finn found out, he rushed over, immediately having his assistant terminate business relationships with a companies and anxiously taking her to the hospital to clean the wound.
She thought he was overreacting, but Finn reassured her:
“Harper, you’re the most important woman in my life. Except for pregnancy and childbirth 1 don’t wait to see a single injury on you. Girls should have flawless skin so clothes and jewelry look their best on them.”
Now she was covered in blood, but he had completely ignored her for another woman
He’d promised to protect her from injury, yet he’d risked her health to donate bone marrow to someone else
Even marriage and children–he’d secretly planned those with another woman.
Before falling asleep, Harper saw “Serena Baby in Bliss” share another TikTok–it showed Finn kneeling to wash her feet to comfort her.
Harper watched it several times, feeling her chest tighten, unable to sleep all night.
The next morning, Harper reluctantly returned home.
As soon as she entered the estate, the butler, Mr. Brown, greeted her with a troubled expression
“Mrs. Cooper, the master is waiting by the pool. He seems…. upset…”
Harper walked toward the pool and saw Finn comforting Serena from a distance.
Serena was softly sobbing, looking pitifully fragile.
When Finn saw Harper finally return, he could no longer conceal his fury, his whole demeanor turning cold-
“Did you deliberately leak Serena’s whereabouts to her father’s enemies?”
