Chapter 404 Pack–house
Anton’s p.o.v.
Nathan hands Harper the Law book that holds the chapter on the Mate meeting. I listen to her as she goes through the description as to why the Elders felt it was necessary to hold those meetings and how often they would be held. Like Elder Tom said, anyone that wants to come, is more than welcome.
Problem is that nowhere in the Law there is a mention of Alphas and future Alphas having an obligation to report Pack–members that haven’t found their connection, not even if it has been years and years after they turned eighteen. Nowhere in the Law does it state that the Elders can send a mandatory invitation and I understand that that is why Alayah wants the entire Law to disappear.
“What the fuck.” Harper whisper as she hands the book to Janina. Bastian looks over her shoulder to see if there is any other information, but that is all there is to the Law on the Mate meeting. “Why did Alayah look up that part of the Law?” Harper asks.
“Alayah didn’t. I did, after you told me why you left Crystal Blood Pack. I wanted to know why we were never taught about that part of the Law and after I read it, I knew someone had been misinforming Packs. None of us will stand for that and Alayah wasn’t kidding when she said she would withdraw her support of the Elders.” I answer her.
“Okay, why don’t we concentrate on Bronze Crest Pack for the time being? Get that shitshow out of the way and maybe on our way back we will visit your former Pack. Ask your former Alpha and his Son where the hell they got their information from.” I say as I pull Harper on my lap.
She smiles at me, nodding her head. I think I am going to stand back and watch that conversation unfold, I would love to see how they get themselves out of that mess.
It takes a few hours before Noah and Alayah walk back into the Pack–house, but we can all tell that Topaz has calmed down and that was the meaning of their run.
Maxwell is running around the dining room, making sure he stays out of everyone’s reach and Cassandra is following him with her eyes. “Maxie, eat.” Cassandra yells and he comes to a halt right in front of her, a huge smile on his face.
He tries to climb onto his chair by himself, but Cassandra doesn’t trust her Brother’s climbing abilities. “Papasss, help Maxie.” She says as she looks at Nero and after Nero has put Maxwell in his chair, Cassandra seems happy.
We eat dinner, as we talk about our trip the following day and both, Maxwell and Cassandra, are getting exited. “We go. We go.” Both of them say in unison and I hide my face in Harper’s neck, making sure that Alayah doesn’t see me laughing.
Alayah tries to explain to the twins that they can’t come, because they are too little to come with us. Maxwell looks at his Mom and I watch him through Harper’s hair. “Oh, Fuck.” I mutter softly, the moment I see what Maxwel is about to do.
He stands up in his chair, looks at his Mom and says, “Maxie big, Maxie go.” Cassandra following his example quickly and she places her hands on her hips, “Cass big, Cass go.” She says and I can not st myself, as I start laughing my ass off.
I watch as five adults try to explain to those two little Lycans that they can’t come with us and more and more Pack–members have trouble hiding their laughter. I know that I wouldn’t want my Pup to come. along, but I have no idea how I would get that across if I was faced with an attitude like Maxwell and

After an hour of arguing Grandma gets up and turns both seats around to have Maxwell and Cassandra face her, “Your Moni is right, you are too little for witnessing what is going to happen. Maybe there is a compromise we can make and not have your parents worry about the two of you. We will follow in an SUV of our own and wait outside the borders with four Elite Warriors..
On the way home the two of you can ride with your parents and enjoy the scenery together. How does that sound, little Lycans?” Grandma asks and everyone just stares at Grandma.
It’s that Doc explained that they are too young to have a mind–link, because otherwise you would think they were discussing this compromise in private. It takes them a few minutes, looking at every adult in front of them in the meantime. “Okay.” Maxwell says and both of them sit back down in their chairs.
“Fine, Bastian will appoint four Elite Warriors to stay with the three of you.” Alayah says, caving in to the tantrum her Pups threw. Something tells me that she isn’t to upset, though. She misses then every time we have to head out to a Pack to bring down justice on whoever broke the Law.
We are just finished with dinner, when a guard links me, “Beta, there is an Elder here that wants to see Alpha Alayah.” I get up as I let him know that we will be at the gate shortly.
I wonder which Elder showed up, because our Warriors know that they can allow Elder Aimi, Elder Mathass and Elder Dariston into our territory. No other Elder has ever paid us a visit and that makes this even more surprising or suspicious if you would ask Merric, he doesn’t like unannounced visits from Elders.
Merric growls softly in my head, when the Elder comes into view and Harper grabs my hand to keep Merric calm enough, to keep him from ripping the Idiot a second asshole.
“Elder Tom, what can we do for you?” Alayah asks, the moment we are within hearing range and he looks at her as if she just disrespected a King.
“I want to discuss something with Noah, I don’t need anyone else around for this.” He says, as he takes a step forward. Two Elite Warriors block his way from stepping across the border, he wasn’t invited and he sure as hell isn’t welcome.
“What could you possibly have to discuss with my Mate?” Alayah asks as the Warriors make sure Elder Tom can’t step into our territory.
“I will only discuss this with the Alpha of Blood Stone Pack and not some air–headed Luna.” He growls in her direction and I nearly lose my shit when Harper knocks on Alayah’s head.
“Sorry, Alpha. Just wanted to check if it wasn’t empty up there.” Harper mumbles as I pull her into my arms, hiding my face in her hair and trying to hide the huge smile I have on my face.
“Make sure he doesn’t set foot in MY territory, by any means necessary.” Alayah says to the Warriors, before she turns on her heel and walks away from Elder Tom. Her Mates following her without giving Elder Tom another look and two more Elite Warriors show up. I wish him luck with trying to get into our territory now.
“Do you think he is deaf?” Harper asks me and I just look at her. “He was there when Alayah was introduced as the Alpha of Blood Stone Pack, so he must be deaf, right?” Harper asks no one in particular, as she pulls me with her towards the Pack–house.
