Elder Aimi had warned us once that there might be an Alpha or two that would challenge Alayah, but so far no one had been stupid enough. Today is different though, today two Alphas challenged her and I know they won’t live to see another day.
I know that our Mate can handle herself and I know that Topaz will always protect her Human and our unborn Pup. I had just hoped though, that no one would challenge Alayah for her title.
The first Alpha has a black and gray Wolf, smaller than Topaz and a lot slower. He is no match for Topaz and I sigh in relief the moment she ends his life. The second Alpha is more arrogant than the first Alpha and Topaz deals with him, while he is arguing with his Wolf.
I am not sure how we will deal with two more Packs to run, but I wouldn’t put it past that Mate of ours to have all the answers already. We have known for a while that this could happen one day and my Mate is constantly prepared for everything we find on our way, she always seems to be a step ahead of everyone.
After today no Alpha in his right mind will challenge her again or at least that is what I am hoping for. I walk into the Arena to hand her some clothes, before Topaz gives control back to her Human and I slide a hand through her fur as she presses her snout against my chest.
I wrap my arms around our Mate once she is dressed and I kiss her passionately in front of every spectator. My Brothers follow my lead quickly, kissing her in front of an audience of Alphas, Betas, Gammas and other High–ranking Wolves and Lycans.
Elder Aimi informs the Alphas that they can go home, that the Elders expect them to stop sending their complaints, “Or you might be next to face Alpha Alayah.” She tells them before she walks away. We follow her inside to the office on the ground floor and I am not surprised to see the remaining leaderships of Winter Moon Pack and Frozen Forest Pack.
“Gentlemen, take a seat.” Alayah says, the moment we walk into the office and each of them do as she says. “I happen to know that your Alphas were still unmated and I am glad I didn’t have to put an innocent through any pain. Betas, you will report to me on a daily basis and it will stay that way until I have found
me/on someone to represent me as the Alpha of your Pack.
Gammas, you will deal with Gamma Bastian. He will go through your training schedule, border patrol and everything else that involves the security of my Pack.” Alayah says and I am not surprised to hear that she has a solution to this situation.
“Beta Anton will hand you my Pack rules, make sure every Pack–member is informed. If I find out you didn’t inform them or if anyone breaks my Pack rules, punishment will be severe. Do you have any questions at the moment?” Alayah asks and she allows them all to think about any questions they might
have.
“When will you visit Winter Moon Pack?” The Beta asks and I chuckle when I hear her tell him that we will visit when we have time. Alayah will make us visit that Pack, when they least expect it and it wouldn’t surprise me if that will be in a day or two. Probably on our way home from Bronze Crest Pack and with a Pack–member in tow that will represent her as the Alpha.
“Make sure every Pack–member knows what happened here today and that they understand that we won’t except them to bad mouth our Mate–bond.” Noah growls and every member of our new Packs bare their neck in submission. It still surprises me, every time this happens and it will take some time to get used to it. I mean, we were raised as Gammas and the aura we possess today is so much stronger than the aura we

“Beau, escort them out. I am done with them for the time being.” Alayah says and I know that the Elders are going to be in for a surprise. “Elder Aimi, I want to talk to the Elders and I won’t take No for an answer. She says and Elder Aimi smiles at her as she gestures to the door.
“They are waiting for you, I had a feeling that you wanted to talk to them.” Elder Airni says as she leads the way back to the meeting room. There is no sign left of the meeting we had earlier today and I see that every Elder is seated at the tables that for a large U.
The Elders stop talking the moment Alayah make her way over to the head of the tables, the rest of us following her. “I would like to know why you interfere with someone finding their connection. It is no ones business, but the shifter involved. Not their families business, not their Alpha’s business and definitely not your business.” Alayah says.
There are only a few Elders that look pleased with the question Alayah asked, but it is clear there are enough Elders that don’t agree with her. “Alpha Alayah, we made the decision for these Mate meetings, when most Wolves and Lycans were still reluctant to believe in the new way we can find a true Mate–bond. We hold a Mate meeting every six months and anyone that wants to come is more than welcome.
Only if an Alpha or future Alpha reports a Pack–member, we will send a mandatory invitation. We only receive such reports if it takes too long for them to find their connection.” An Elder, I can’t remember the name of, says. “We made these rules and everyone just has to deal with it.”
Oh, Yeah. Definitely the wrong answer to her question and I place my hand on her lower back, as I feel her anger rising. “Let me make this very clear, Elder Tom. That rule is going to disappear and if it doesn’t you can handle every fucking crime yourself. I will withdraw Blood Stone Pack’s support of the Elders, if you don’t remove that rule from our Laws. See how long you will be sitting in those seats.” Alayah growls at him, before she turns on her heel and walks away.
“Elders, I suggest you think about this very carefully. Alayah wasn’t kidding and you will end up without our support. We will also stop passing judgement on the Packs that have been committing crimes for almost a century and you get to explain to all their victims why there is no justice for them.” Anton says, before he follows the rest of us out of the former Palace.
None of us says a word as we get into the SUVs, we have learned in the past year that it is best to let her process everything and to just keep our mouths shut. Noah pulls her into his arms and I sit on her other side, rubbing the back of her hand with my thumb.
Our trip home is fast and quiet, Alayah still hasn’t calmed down and we all know that Noah will let Eiji out for a run with Topaz. We now it is mainly Topaz that is still agitated and getting chased by one of her Mates will give her some time to blow of steam. One of our Lycans spending some alone time with Topaz. makes sure she can get rid of the rest of her foul mood.
Nero, Nikolay and I kiss her, before Noah walks away with her and Harper asks if we can meet in Alayah’s private office. I know the last part of the day came as a surprise to her, but Harper needs to understand that this goes against Alayah’s nature.
We all waited to find our connection and like my Mate, I hate it when someone tries to rush it. Alayah was twenty two when she found us and Noah being the oldest was thirty one. Harper is twenty and yet the future Alpha felt as if she took too long to find a connection. His screw up did allow Harper to find h connection and she still gets to do the job she was trained for as the Beta female.
I hand Harper the Law book that holds the chapter on the Mate meeting, it describes why the Elders felt it was necessary to hold those meetings and how often they will be held. Like Elder Tom said, anyone that

wants to come, is more than welcome.
Problem is that nowhere in the Law there is a mention of Alphos and future Alphas having an obligation us report Pack–members that haven’t found their connection, not even if it has been years and peses after they turned eighteen. Nowhere in the Law does it state that the Elders can send a mandatory Invitation and that is why Alayah wants the entire Law to disappear.
