Chapter 376 Punishment.
Alayah’s p.o.v.
“Nikolay, I asked you a question that you answered with a question of your own.” I say as I turn towards him.
Aunt Mable tells me about a few females within the Pack that don’t respect the Mate–bond as much as they should, that she and Uncle Josh have had a few conversations with them in the past and that today’s disrespect needs a public punishment. Nikolay tells me what happened in the main dining room and Topaz doesn’t know whether to growl or laugh, anyone that pays enough attention can see that Nikolay is already
marked.
“This is a decision for our leadership to take and I think it is best if you discuss it in your office, Alpha.” Uncle Josh says as he winks at me and I ask the others to follow me to my office in the Alpha residence. I ask Aunt Mable if she can arrange dinner to be brought to my office, I want to get this out of the way before the night is over and I wait until everyone has taken a seat before I ask Nikolay how many females were in the living room. I close my eyes as he tells me that there were five females, I need to know if they are the only ones that feel annoyed or uneasy.
I let myself feel my Pack–members feelings and it doesn’t take me long to realize that what I feel belongs to more than five Pack–members, “Bastian, I want you to assemble a team for border patrol. A team you trust, a team that will respect the Mate–bond under any circumstances and I want you to inform them that they will replace the current patrols at nine. I want everyone that gets relieved of duty to report to the Pack–house, I will announce their punishment as soon as every Pack–member is present.” I say.
Noah asks me what their punishment will be and I ask him what he thinks would be an appropriate punishment for disrespecting the Mate–bond and their Alpha. His idea of a punishment is to light for my liking and I ask the others for their opinion, see if they can come up with a more suited punishment. Everyone has an answer for me, but none of the answers is sufficient in my eyes and as I keep listening to their punishments I know what I will ask them next.
Bastian tells me that everything is taken care off before he gives me an answer, “Okay and will those punishments stop them from disrespecting the Mate–bond or me?” I ask and as they start talking it becomes clear quickly that the punishments will be a temporarily solution to the situation, after a while they will forget about their punishment to fall back into their old pattern of disrespect.
“Anton, what does the Law say on disrespecting the Mate–bond?” I ask him and he tells me that the Alpha has a few options, from whipping to banishment. “For disrespecting their Alpha they can be put to death.” Anton says as he looks at me and I ask him if that also goes for the future Alpha, for a moment he just stares at me before he says that the heaviest punishment in that situation would be banishment.
“You weren’t the Alpha yet, so the death penalty is of the table.” Nathan says and I just nod my head because I already know the punishment these females will get. I tell them that in the morning I want the files on Crimson Moon Pack and Autumn Pack on my desk, that I will take one Pack at the time and that even if the perpetrator is dead I still want the Pack to know what his or her punishment would have been.
By the time dinner gets brought to my office we have discussed on how to proceed tonight with the punishment and the announcement of their Alpha and who her leadership is.
“Just be aware of power hungry females.” Noah says teasingly as he looks around the room and Anton actually growls at him.

I look at my Mate as she places her hair in a messy bun at the back of her head. She knows there is nothing wrong with our Mate–bond, but she was raised to do the right thing and with people letting her know they

are against what we have I can feel her anxiety. Being the Alpha of the largest Lycan Pack doesn’t change that feeling and all we can do is let her feel our love for her through the Mate–bond, to support her when she gets confronted with those that are against our Mate–bond
It is just after nine in the evening and Bastian’s team just relieved every Pack–member that was on border patrol. None of us has any idea as to what Alayah is planning, all she told us was that uncle Josh would inform the Pack–members that their rightful heir had taken over the Alpha title and that their Alpha had an
announcement to make.
Aunt Mable tells us that every Pack–member is waiting out front and we follow Alayah as she walks out of the residence to the stairs to the main lobby, Uncle Josh is waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs. We all pass her before she can walk down the stairs, we want to see the look on the faces of the Pack–members when she walks out with Uncle Josh and we want to see the look on their faces when Uncle Josh announces her as their Alpha.
Bastian and Anton agreed with Nero’s plan when he told them about it, they think it is smart to know who might go against their Alpha. Alayah had just been shaking her head when we were discussing it, but she didn’t explain to us why she was shaking her head and that we just had to be patient. As Alayah walks onto the front steps with Uncle Josh the crowd starts to mumble, but one look from Uncle Josh is enough to make them go quiet.
He welcomes the Pack–members and thanks them for their time. He asks if each of them remembers his announcement about their rightful Alpha and as everyone is nodding their heads I see some females looking in my direction, while others are looking at my Brothers. Each of those faces filling with disgust when he introduces Alayah as the rightful Alpha of Blood Stone Pack and I can even hear someone mumble that he will never accept a female Alpha.
Uncle Josh asks the Pack–members to move to his right if they don’t want a female Alpha and seven Lycans walk over to that side, three males and four females. Then Uncle Josh asks Pack–members to step to his right if they believe that Alayah shouldn’t accept a true Mate–bond with her Stepbrothers and this time a larger group walks to that side, seven males and nine females. A total of twenty three Lycans are now on the right side of Uncle Josh, not a lot when you take into consideration that this is the largest Pack at the
moment.
Each female that stepped to Uncle Josh’s right is a female that has been ogling me and my Brothers, not respecting the Mate–bond in any way and I even see two other females staring at them in horror. Dad places an arm around Mara and I can tell that she is upset, but I don’t have to ask her why. “How can you be against a true Mate–bond? How can you go against a bond between Lycans that are not related by blood?” A female asks.
“Mom, they are siblings because of the bond between their parents. It is disgusting to think she gets four Mates that are better suited for other females.” A brunette answers and I hear a roar coming from a male that is being held by four other males. When her Mother starts speaking things are finally making sense, “Do you know why your Father and I were told to leave our Pack?” and the brunette shakes her head as does another female.
