Growing up I always thought Nathan would be the one most affected by not finding his Mate, but in the last few years I have seen the disappointment in Nikolay’s eyes every time Kal told him there was no connection. Seeing the look in Nikolay’s eyes when he was talking about Alayah was amazing, I have seen the same look in Dad’s eyes when he talked about Mara and I see it in the eyes of every mated male who talks about their Mate.
“Okay, let’s go see Erick and his Father. In the meantime we will stay close to Alayah and see where this connection takes us.” I say as I get out of my seat and my Brothers follow me down the stairs to the Delta office on the ground floor, it will be their workspace if they are not outside training our Pack–members or patrolling our borders.
The next few hours are spend going over all the tasks a Delta is responsible for and I can tell my Brothers are excited to learn more about their new positions, but it also means that some of the females in Autumn Pack will be gunning for them when it is made public.
Alayah’s p.o.v.
Four days until our meeting on Monday morning on the financial status of both Packs and all I can seem to think about is the look in Noah’s eyes when he saw my outfit, he looked as if he wanted to send me back up to my room to change. I shake my head for the umpteenth time to clear my head and I look at the screen in front of me as I take a sip of my latte, I still have a few budgets to go through.
Currently I am staring at the budget for our training grounds and I can tell that our Gamma and his Deltas don’t squander any money, they replace what needs to be replaced and nothing more. It was the same with the kitchen budget, every purchase was justified and I didn’t see any unnecessary payments or withdrawals. Looks like Alpha Randell put the right people in charge of those budgets and I smile when I think of a certain description in the kitchen budget.
I had to ask our Head Omega to come to my office and explain it to me but when she told me all I could do was smile. Alpha Randell’s birthday is coming up and the one thing no one has ever been able to do is to give him a birthday party, he really hates to squander money on something like that. However, this year he is turning sixty five and I was actually surprised to find out he is a lot older than I had suspected. Not that it should have surprised me, after all it will take us a long time to look as if we have aged.
So Luna Vicky had given our Head Omega the challenge to organize a birthday party for Alpha Randell, but she had to leave Luna Vicky out of it. I offered her my help and she told me that she knew where to find me if she needed me. I close the budget for the training grounds and decide to take a stroll before lunch, I really need to clear my head.
The fastest way to get outside is through the main living room and that is where I am heading right now, but hearing Noah’s voice stops me dead in my tracks. “No, we haven’t found our Mate yet. Our Lycans have been unable to feel a connection with any female and we are seriously thinking about attending the next Mate meeting.” I hear him say, but I almost lose control to Topaz when I hear a female voice
“Maybe you should consider a chosen Mate, after all as the future Gamma you need a strong female by your side and your Mate might be of a lower rank. I think you should think about taking a female from a long line of Warriors to become your Mate….” I do not hear the rest she says or how my Stepbrothers respond because I have turned on my heel and head out the back door, to shocked to acknowledge anyone I pass on
my way out.
“How can they not feel a connection to us if you can feel it?” I ask Tonaz but she is curled un in the hack of my

of the Mate–bond, but apparently my Stepbrothers and their Lycans don’t feel the connection and I walk around the garden aimlessly.
I am so deep in thought that I even forget about lunch or the budgets I still have to go through, all I can think about is what Noah said and each time his words run through my mind my heart breaks a little more.
“Where the hell have you been?” I hear the angry voice of Noah behind me ask and I just stare at him after I have turned around.
“What do you mean? I have been here in the gardens.” I answer him as I walk passed him.
It isn’t until I have reached my office that I find out I had been outside for hours and a very distraught looking Anton, “Where were you, Princess?” Anton asks as he wraps his arms around me and when I tell him I went for a walk in the gardens he looks at me confused, “What? That is impossible, every Warrior has been looking for you and the gardens was the first place they looked for you.” Anton responds and for a moment I am too stunned to process his words.
My office has been filled with my Stepbrothers, Marc and Crystal and each of them looks at me as if they don’t believe me, “I went for a walk in the gardens. I don’t know why the Warriors didn’t see me, but that is where I was.” I tell Anton. “Princess, that is impossible. They would have seen you if you had been in the gardens and believe me I know they went through the gardens, because I was out there watching them.” Anton says.
“I don’t understand why you would lie about that, Angel.” I hear Nero say and it is the last straw for me. “Get the fuck out of my office, all of you. I am telling the truth, I was in the gardens. NOW GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE.” I yell and I release my Beta aura to make everyone, except Marc, take a step back.
When none of them is willing to leave my office I walk out myself and head up to the Beta floor, I don’t waste time the moment I reach my room and I start packing a bag. I need to see Alpha Gordon for the bookkeeping of Autumn Pack, so I might as well get it over with and take a break from the idiots in my life.
