Commander is right here with me as we listen to our Angel talking about the assignments she still has ahead of her and I am disgusted by the behavior of some Wolves and Lycans in the world, I am glad our Angel is taking a stand against them. I know she has mentioned it before but it seems that someone is protecting some of these Wolves and Lycans from facing justice and maybe we should be investigating the Council of Elders for corruption.
I doubt we would get anywhere with any evidence we find, they will always point a finger to anyone outside the Council or the Royal Family and I don’t think the Royal Family would appreciate it if we tried to take down an Elder. “If an Elder…” Commander doesn’t finish the sentence as we both feel anger radiating from Maleah, but her questions don’t seem to bother anyone else and she receives answers as they normally would during a meeting.
“The Sigma left them there because she sold them to the Dayborne Brothers and the Bornshade Sisters, the Rogues were here to collect them and if it hadn’t been for Fortune and Maleah they would have succeeded.” Commander growls and I wonder how she was planning on justifying their absence, Elyse visits the orphanage at least once every two weeks. If she can make it once a week she does and she always asks for updates on the Pups, sometimes Elyse even contacts families that took them in.
It doesn’t seem that any of the others have figured out what Maleah was referring to and I am going to allow her to handle this anyway she sees fit, I will only interfere if I believe she isn’t getting anywhere but something tells me she knows exactly how to handle this. We always read about every murder that makes the news and in most cases we know if it was an assignment or not, especially when it comes to targets the Angel of Death took care off.
We were always surprised about the way he, because we all assumed it was a he, left his targets behind and we finally learned that they were left to be found was what they did to their victims. We always admired the Angel of Death for taking his victims out in public places, but we never found out who the Angel of Death was and the only reason we know her identity know is because she told us. She trusted us enough to tell us her secret and this might have something to do with our bond.
I get pulled from my thoughts when the door opens and Levi walks in with the Sigma Elyse put in the dungeons, she doesn’t seem to worried. “Alphas, what can I do for you?” She asks as she sits down in the chair Levi guided her to and Dominic asks her the same question Elyse asked her, “Why did you leave four young Pups alone near the edge of our territory?” Dominic gets surrounded by his Brothers, but it doesn’t seem to bother her at all.
She looks around the office and when her eyes land on me and Maleah she has the nerve to smile, “Congratulations, Head Assassin Mack. I hope your Mate can live with having an Assassin for her Mate, we all know her Mother couldn’t deal with it.” The Sigma says with a smug look on her face and Commander pushes forward to show her that he isn’t amused, but she ignores his presence. “How long do you think it will take her to finally reject you? A Wolfless female isn’t a match for a male like you.”
“Alpha Dominic asked you a question and I suggest you answer him.” Maleah says as she gets of my lap and the Sigma looks at her with a bored look on her face, “And what are you going to do about it?” She asks Maleah with a smirk on her face. Maleah walks over to the chair she is sitting in and I can tell from the look on her face that Maleah is releasing her aura, but I can also see that Maleah isn’t using it to its full potential.
“Have you ever witnessed my Father or Colter using their aura?” Maleah asks and the Sigma says she has seen them use it on Wolves and Lycans, Maleah asks her if she has ever seen me use my aura. The Sigma confirms that she has seen it. “Which aura was the strongest?” Maleah ask and I already know that the Sigma will be pointing at me, which she does the moment I have thought it. “Guess what. “You all better back off or you might find yourselves peeing your pants.” Maleah warns the rest of us through the mind–link and the moment they take a few steps back she releases her aura slowly, “The moment you are ready to talk, just raise your hand.” Maleah says to the Sigma and the smug look slowly disappears from the Sigma’s face as Maleah let’s her aura seep out more and more, suffocating the room with it. “Fuck, she better raise her hand quickly before I end up on my knees.” I hear Levi growl.
I see that Kay is in the same situation and our Alphas aren’t far behind them, I am the only one that doesn’t seem to be affected by her aura. “We are her Mate, our auras don’t affect the other. You can be standing next to her without feeling any discomfort.” Commander says and I decide to just watch from a distance, let the Sigma understand that she was at Maleah mercy. Not that she was showing the Sigma any mercy, if anything she was pushing her self–control.
I don’t think I have ever seen an Assassin this much in control of their aura and I have seen a lot of Assassins at work in my life, I think I can look at this every day and never get tired of it. I see that Levi and Kay are struggling to keep standing, while the Sigma is nearly pressed to the floor and I fear both my friends will be on their knees before the Sigma will raise her hand. Luckily for my friends she couldn’t take anymore of Maleah’s aura and she tried to raise her hand, which in this case was lifting her hand about an inch of the floor.
