Mira’s POV
The warmth of the light pulsed in my chest, growing with every seconds a fare and my my my di the power within me surging like an unstoppable ways. The Banta oxes we share of my claws–all of it faded into a distant hum. All I could hear was my wolf’s steady
“Let go, Mira,” she urged gently. “Trust in our power. Trust in me
I closed my eyes, the chaos around me Blurring into nothingness My Hande goed inge spreading through my entire body. It was as though I was connected to the one
to my pack, to Killian
The light grew, swelling like a balloon, and then it exploded.
A blinding flash erupted from me, enveloping everything in its path the scame and you somed abruptly, replaced by silence. My heart pounded in my ears, and then there was only stress

Killian’s POV
“Mira!” I screamed, watching as her body crumpled to the ground, her glowing form dimming no stiliness. The battlefield was eerily quiet, the rogues frozen in place. Their once tested from farmed to nomal their glowing green eyes replaced by confusion and fear. The wartors who had been infected were no longer convulsing, instead, they sat slumped on the ground, dazed but breathing.
“Mira…” I whispered while running to her.
Her body was limp, her chest rising and falling in shallow, uneven breaths. Her face was pale, her lips linged with blue. I dropped to my knees beside her.
“Please, no,” I choked, my voice trembling Mira, wake up”
I shook her gently, but she didn’t respond. Her skin was cold beneath my hands. Her heartbeat wars wear and unsteady.
The battle was over, but none of it mattered. Not the rogues, not the infected, not even the fact that the pack was safe. All that mattered was her.
“Don’t do this,” I begged, my voice breaking. “Don’t leave me. I can’t lose you, Mira. Not like this”
I scooped her up into my arms, holding her close to my chest. She felt so small, so fragile, and it terified me
I
The sounds of the battle had begun to pick up again in the distance, but ignored them. Nothing else mattered. I ran toward the pack hospital, my legs moving on pure instinct
“Stay with me, Mira,” I pleaded as I ran. “Please, just stay with me. I can’t… I can’t do this without you? Her head lolled against my shoulder, and her breathing grew even fainter.
“No,” I whispered, my voice shaking. “No, no, no. You’re going to be okay. You have to be okay. You’re stronger than this, Mira. You’re the strongest person I know. You’re going to wake up, and you’re going to yell at me for being dramatic, and everything’s going to be fine. It has to be”

I burst through the hospital doors, shouting for help.
“Someone! Anyone! Help her!”
The nurses rushed toward us, their faces grim as they took Mira from my arms and laid her on a stretcher.
“What happened?” one of them asked.
“She–she used her powers,” I stammered, my mind racing. “There was this light, and then she collapsed. She’s barely breathing. You have to save her!”
They wheeled her away, and I moved to follow, but one of the nurses stopped me.
“You can’t go with her,” she said gently but firmly.
“No,” I said, trying to push past her. “I need to be with her. She needs me.”
“She’s in good hands,” she assured me, but it wasn’t enough.
I watched helplessly as they disappeared down the hallway, Mira’s lifeless form growing smaller and smaller until I couldn’t see her anymore.
My knees buckled, and I sank to the floor, my hands trembling. The hospital was too quiet, the walls too bright. I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
“She’s going to be okay,” I muttered to myself, as if saying it out loud would make it true. “She has to be okay.” But doubt gnawed at me, and the thought of losing her sent a wave of despair crashing over me.
The minutes stretched into hours–or maybe it was only seconds. Time didn’t seem to exist anymore. All I could think about was her–her smile, her laugh, the way she looked at me when she thought I wasn’t paying
attention.
I clenched my fists. I was so angry at the moon goddess. This wasn’t fair. Mira had done everything- sacrificed everything–to save the pack. She didn’t deserve this.
“Please,” I whispered to no one in particular, my voice breaking. “Please don’t take her from me. I can’t… I can’t live without her.”
The hallway grew colder, the silence heavier. Every second that passed without news felt like a lifetime. And then, the doors at the end of the hallway opened.
A nurse stepped out, her face unreadable. My heart stopped, and for a moment, I couldn’t breathe. “What… what’s happening?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “Is she… is she okay?”
The nurse hesitated, and her silence was deafening.
“She’s stable,” she said finally, but there was something in her tone that sent a chill down my spine. “Stable?” I repeated, latching onto the word like a lifeline. “That’s good, right? She’s going to wake up?” The nurse didn’t answer right away. She looked at me with a mixture of pity and uncertainty. “She’s… resting,” she said carefully. “But her condition is… unusual. We’re doing everything we can.” “What does that mean?” I demanded, my voice rising. “What’s wrong with her?”
“We’re not sure,” she admitted. “Her vitals are weak, but there’s something else… something we don’t understand. It’s like her body is in some sort of… transition.”

“Transition?” I repeated, my chest tightening. “What does that even mean? is the in gain? is the dyng
“We don’t know,” she said softly. “We’re monitoring her closely, but… you should prepare yourself for the possibility that she might not wake up.”
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I staggered back, shaking my head.
“No,” I said firmly. “She’s going to wake up. She has to. She’s Mira. She’s strong. She’s a fighter
The nurse didn’t argue, but the look in her eyes told me everything I didn’t want to hear
I turned away, my hands trembling as I raked them through my hair.
“Mira,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “Please come back to me.”
The hallway seemed to close in around me, the weight of the nurse’s words pressing down on my chest.
And for the first time, I let myself break.
