Killian’s POV_
Sophia sat on the cold hospital floor, her face buried in her hands. Her entire body trembled as sobs racked through her. The hallway was eerily quiet except for the muffled sounds of doctors rushing around. I crouched down next to her, my mind spinning with everything I had just heard.
“Aaron,” I muttered, the name tasting like venom on my tongue. “How do you know him, Sophia? How did you even get involved with someone like that?”
She wiped her tear–streaked face with shaky hands and looked up at me, her eyes bloodshot. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “I never thought it would go this far.”
“That’s not an answer,” I said, my voice harder now. “Tell me everything.”
She nodded, taking a deep breath as if bracing herself. “It started a few months ago. I got a text from an unknown number. It said someone had a ‘special offer‘ for me. I ignored it at first. I thought it was a s**m or a
prank.”
“But it wasn’t,” I pressed, my patience thinning.
“No,” she admitted. “One day, I was out shopping, and a man approached me. He said his boss wanted to meet. I asked him who his boss was, and he just smiled. The next day, Aaron showed up.”
Hearing his name again made my blood boil. “Aaron. The Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.”
Sophia nodded, her eyes darting around as if she was afraid someone would overhear us. “He told me he needed Mira. He didn’t say why, just that it was important.”
“What does Mira have to do with any of this?” I demanded. My voice rose, and a passing nurse shot me a disapproving look. I didn’t care.
Sophia flinched. “Aaron said there is a prophecy or something. He needed Mira to come to his pack, and to do that, he needed to make sure she wasn’t happy here.”
I clenched my fists so tightly my knuckles turned white. “So what? You just agreed to help him ruin your own
sister’s life?”
Her eyes filled with fresh tears. “I didn’t know it would be like this. He made me an offer–money. A lot of money. And… he promised something else.”
“What else?” I demanded, leaning closer.
“He promised me power,” she whispered. “He said if I helped him, and if you fell for me, I would become the Luna of this pack.”
I froze, my mind reeling. “What?” The word came out like a hiss.
Sophia’s voice cracked as she continued. “He said there was a chance Mira would be mated to the son of the FireMoon Alpha. But if she and I both wanted you, and I made you fall in love with me, Mira would never accept the bond. Aaron needed to break her spirit, make her run to him willingly.”
My stomach twisted with disgust. “You… You were trying to manipulate me this whole time?”

“I didn’t have a choice!” she cried. “Aaron made it sound so simple. He even gave me an advance payment”
“And you took it,” I said flatly. “You sold out your sister for money.”
Sophia’s lip trembled. “I needed the money, Killian. I used it to consult a witch.”
A sharp chill ran down my spine. “A witch?” My voice was cold now, deadly.
She nodded slowly, not meeting my eyes. “She gave me a love potion. That’s how… That’s how you fell for me.
For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. The walls seemed to close in around me. My feelings, my decisions–none
of it had been real.
“You drugged me,” I whispered, the weight of the betrayal hitting me like a freight train.
Sophia grabbed my arm, desperation in her eyes. “I didn’t know what else to do! I thought… I thought it would be harmless. I never meant to hurt anyone.”
“You’ve hurt everyone,” I snapped, jerking my arm away. “Mira, your parents… me.”
She broke down again, sobbing uncontrollably. “Aaron said it was just supposed to be a distraction. He wanted Mira to hate it here, to feel like she didn’t belong. He even hired rogues to attack her so he could‘
rescue‘ her.”
“That attack in the woods,” I muttered, the pieces clicking together. “It was staged.”
Sophia nodded miserably. “Aaron thought if he saved her, she would trust him and agree to stay at his pack. He was playing the long game.”
I felt sick. “You knew all of this, and you still went along with it?”
“I didn’t know he would hurt my parents!” she screamed, her voice echoing down the hall. “That wasn’t part of the plan!”
I stood up, towering over her. My hands trembled with barely restrained fury. “You disgust me.” “Killian, please,” she begged, crawling towards me. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.” “You didn’t mean for it to happen?” I repeated, my voice cold and sharp. “You betrayed your own sister, manipulated me, and now Mira’s gone. We don’t even know where she is.”
She sobbed harder, clutching at my leg. “I can help fix this. We can still find her.”
I pulled away, my stomach churning. “Why would I trust you now?”
“Because I know Aaron’s plans,” she whispered, her voice hoarse. “I can help you stop him.”
I stared down at her, the woman I thought I loved. But it wasn’t love. It was a lie. A twisted, cruel lie.
“You’d better hope you’re telling the truth,” I said quietly. “Because if anything happens to Mira, Sophia, I swear you’ll wish you had never met me.”
She flinched, but I didn’t care. I turned on my heel and walked away, the weight of her betrayal pressing down on me. The hospital lights buzzed overhead, casting long shadows on the floor.
I had to find Mira. I had to undo the damage Sophia had done. And I had to make Aaron pay for everything.
