Chapter 16
Mira’s POV_
The days passed and I was gradually getting used to life in Aaron’s pack. I felt a sense of belonging I hadn’t experienced before and Aaron played a big part in that. He had assigned me a few small duties to help me settle in. I assisted with organizing supplies, helped out in the kitchen, and sometimes watched over the younger pack members when the others were busy. They were little things, but they made me feel useful, like I was part of something.
Aaron was always kind and gentle with me, never demanding too much. He would check in to see if I was okay, and his warm smile would make my heart flutter each time. I was feeling more at ease here, and I couldn’t deny how much he helped.
One evening, while I was in the kitchen stacking dishes, I sensed someone behind me. I turned around and saw Aaron leaning casually against the doorframe, watching
me with a small smile.
“Hey,” he said, his voice soft. “How is it going?”
I wiped my hands and smiled. “Pretty good. I think I am getting the hang of things
around here.”
“That’s good to hear.” He took a step closer, a playful glint in his eyes. “I was wondering… if you would like to go to a restaurant with me tonight?”
I blinked, surprised. “Oh… you mean, like, a date?”
He chuckled, a hint of pink coloring his cheeks. “Well… yeah. I thought we could spend some time together outside the packhouse. You have been working hard, and I figured you deserved a nice evening out.”
My heart skipped a beat. Aaron, asking me out? It felt a little awkward, but he had done so much for me. I didn’t want to say no. I gave him a shy nod. “I would like that,
Aaron.”
His smile widened. “Great. I’ll pick you up around seven.”
After he left, I quickly changed into a simple dress and put on some light makeup. I felt a nervous excitement as I waited for him. When he arrived, he looked at me with a

pleased expression.
“You look beautiful, Mira,” he said softly.
“Thank you,” I murmured, feeling my cheeks warm.

Once we got in the car, Aaron glanced over at me. “So, what kind of food do you like?”
1 hesitated for a second before admitting, “Well… I really love pizza.”
Aaron grinned. “Pizza, huh? I know the perfect place. There is a popular Italian restaurant called Bella Notte. I think you’ll like it.”
The car ride was quiet at first, but then Aaron broke the silence, teasing me lightly.”
You know, I didn’t think you would actually say yes,” he said with a smirk.
I looked at him, surprised. “Why?”
He shrugged, glancing at me with a playful look. “I don’t know… I thought maybe you would be too shy to go out with the Alpha.”
I laughed, feeling a little embarrassed. “I almost was. But I couldn’t say no to you after
everything you have done for me.”
His gaze softened. “You don’t owe me anything, Mira. I just… I like spending time with
you.”
I felt my heart flutter at his words, and I quickly looked away, hoping he wouldn’t notice the blush creeping up my face.
When we reached Bella Notte, Aaron held the door open for me, and we were guided to a cozy corner table. The restaurant was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and the delicious smell of garlic and herbs filling the air. We both looked over the menu, and I decided on a margherita pizza, while Aaron ordered pasta and garlic bread.
As we waited for our food, we chatted about all sorts of things. Aaron told me stories about his pack, funny moments he had had with his Beta and Gamma, and I found myself laughing and feeling completely at ease.
“So, Mira,” he said, leaning back and looking at me with a grin. “Any embarrassing childhood stories you would like to share?”
I laughed, shaking my head. “No way! Those are staying buried.”

He chuckled. “Come on, not even one?”

I gave him a mischievous smile. “Alright, fine. When I was ten, I tried to shift for the first time… and got stuck halfway. My parents had to help me out of it, and let’s just
say it wasn’t graceful.”
Aaron laughed, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “I would’ve loved to see that.”
I shook my head, laughing too. “It was a disaster.”
Our food arrived, and as we started eating, I felt a sense of happiness settle over me. Aaron was so nice, so easy to talk to. I felt like I could just be myself with him.
But as I glanced around the restaurant, my eyes landed on a man sitting a few tables
away. He was staring at me, his gaze intense and unblinking. I felt a strange, uncomfortable feeling creep up my spine. Why was he looking at me like that?
The man took out his phone, glancing between me and his screen a few times before
he got up and left the restaurant.
“Mira?” Aaron’s voice pulled me back to the present. He was watching me with a
concerned expression. “Where did you go? You looked a little lost.”
I shook my head, forcing a smile. “Oh, it’s nothing. Just… thought I saw someone I
recognized, but I must have been mistaken.”
Aaron nodded, taking a sip of his drink. “Well, if anyone bothers you, just let me know.
I’ll take care of it.”
I felt a warmth in my chest at his protective tone. “Thank you, Aaron.”
He smiled, reaching across the table to take my hand. “I told you, Mira. I’ll always be
here for you.”
I looked down at our joined hands, feeling my heart race. Being with Aaron felt… safe.
Like I had finally found someone who cared, someone I could rely on.
We finished our meal, talking and laughing, and by the time we left the restaurant, I
felt a strange sense of peace. The earlier tension I had felt from the stranger was
gone, and all that remained was the warmth of Aaron’s presence beside me.
As we walked to the car, Aaron turned to me, his expression serious. “I meant what I
said, Mira. I’ll always be here for you. No matter what.”

I looked into his eyes, feeling a spark of something deeper between us. I nodded and
squeezed his hand. “Thank you, Aaron. That means a lot to me.”
He smiled, his gaze soft. “Good.” He opened the car door for me, and as we drove
back, we fell into a comfortable silence, the unspoken connection between us filling
the air.
That night, as I lay in bed, I couldn’t help but smile, thinking of the evening we had
shared. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had a place here–like maybe I
belonged. And maybe… just maybe, there was something more waiting for me with
Aaron.
