Damien’s POV

“What’s an impoverished party crasher doing with a tailor–made sports car?” Contempt laced my voice as I eyed the beautiful machine. “Did you rent it or steal’it?”
Ryan was too busy brushing a thumb over Celeste’s hand and talking to her in low murmurs to respond. The intimate gesture ignited a furnace of possessive rage.
How dare this loser touch what’s mine!
“Get your hands off my wife.” I said in a low growl and yanked her towards me.
Sudden pain flared across my cheek as Celeste dealt a lightning fast slap. I released her arm, and she glared at me with eyes full of venom.
“I warned you not to touch me.” She spat coldly. “And get your head out of the clouds, for god’s sake. I haven’t been your wife for months.”
Ryan stood behind her with the biggest smirk on his face.
It was just begging me to knock his lights out.
“Don’t look so smug, home wrecker.” I sneered. “Celeste is using you to make me jealous, and the sooner you back off, the sooner we can mend our family.”
His smirk faltered, and a muscle in his jaw twitched.
“She wants to come back home; she’s just not ready to admit it yet.” I said with a smile.
Celeste reached for her phone. “I’m tired of dealing with your delusions.”
I raised it over my head and smirked.
“We’re not done talk–❞
Ryan smoothly swiped it from my hand, and my mouth fell open.
“We don’t have time for idle chatter.” He said firmly.
Fury boiled in my blood.
How dare some pathetic lowlife dismiss me?
“Stay out of my life, Damien.” Celeste said, tone hard as iron, before heading to the car,
Ryan guided my wife to the passenger side with a palm pressed against the small of her back and opened the door for her. She smiled at him before ducking inside.
Everything in me screamed to pummel the asshole, but I held my temper at the shutter and flash of a reporter’s camera. Terrible publicity would be the final nail in my company’s coffin.
Then a thrill ran through me–I finally found my Rosemary
“I see Celeste’s boyfriend is playing dress up this time around.” Vanessa cackled as she sauntered up to me. “Try all you want, but you’re just a fake rich boy who didn’t even make the guest list.”
“At least I didn’t resort to buying an invitation.” Ryan replied indifferently as he hopped into the driver’s seat and revved the engine.

Damn it. How did he hear about that?
“You pathetic frauds are perfect for each other!” Vanessa yelled as the car bulleted off.
I glared at the woman who’d become a thorn in my side.
“You’re just a money drain while Celeste has a career that can actually benefit me.” I said harshly. “So I wouldn’t throw stones if I were you.”
Something dark flashed in her eyes before a sultry smile touched her lips.
“Babe, you can’t mean that.” Her voice was silky as she pressed her soft body against me. “You know I’m a million times much better than that fake designer.”
Vanessa’s touch made my skin crawl. I shoved her away. She yelped and clutched her belly as she stumbled.
“Your seduction doesn’t work on me anymore.” My voice was crisp as ice. “As a matter of fact, this entire relationship isn’t working anymore.”
Her eyes blew wide as saucers and her face paled.
“Damien, don’t joke like that.” She said, her voice a whisper.
Winning Celeste’s heart was the only way to convince her to sign an exclusive deal that would save my company. I wasn’t concerned by that worthless poser that was hanging around her.
But Vanessa had to be removed from the equation.
“I’m not one to joke around–we’re over.” I said firmly.
Her big eyes brimmed with tears.
“But Damien, we’re in love! Why would you suddenly want to throw away what we have?”
“You deliberately caused a rift between Bonnie and Celeste when your parenting skills can’t hold a candle to hers. Bonnie needs her mother, and you’re not fit for the task.” I said firmly, folding my arms.
Vanessa exploded, batshit crazy.
“I’m not fit to be a mother?” She screamed, ugly tears streaming down her face. “You should have thought about that before you put a fucking baby in me.”
“I will ensure you’re fairly compensated for that unfortunate mistake.” I said with a bored sigh.
She burst into sharp, manic laughter and caressed her belly!
“You want to throw some money at me and abandon our baby? I’ll tell the world and run your upstanding businessman and family man image through the mud, so don’t even think about it.”
Disgust and dread surged as I stared at the hysteric woman. How was I supposed to woo Celeste and sign Rosemary if I couldn’t get rid of this complicated fling?
“You’re stuck with me, Damien.” Vanessa panted haggardly, face red and blotchy. “For. Fucking. Ever.” 2
