Chapter 8
These words immediately caused an uproar at the banquet.
“What’s going on? Wasn’t tonight’s Reed family banquet supposed to announce the future heir to the Reed Group?
“Where did this lawyer come from? Is what he said true? Olivia wants to divorce Nathan Reed?”
“I bet Olivia doesn’t want to hand over the Reed family fortune to adopted children she has no blood relation to. So she’s pulling this stunt–publicly demanding a divorce to force Nathan to choose between her and the kids.”
“How could Olivia do this? Couldn’t she discuss it privately? Filing for divorce in public is so humiliating!”
“She probably tried discussing it privately but couldn’t get through to him. Losing face is better than losing assets, right?”
The guests chattered endlessly, each speculating wildly.
Meanwhile, the reporters pounced like sharks smelling blood in the water. They aimed their cameras at Nathan, snapping photos nonstop.
“Mr. Reed, are you and Olivia really getting divorced?”
“Mr. Reed, does your divorce have to do with issues over inheritance rights?”
“Mr. Reed, you and your wife are both so young. Why did you choose to adopt instead of having your own children?”
The barrage of questions grew increasingly pointed until one particularly brazen reporter asked point–blank: “Mr. Reed, are you impotent? Is that why you and your wife aren’t having children of your own?”
Nathan’s face darkened with rage. He shot the reporter a vicious glare that seemed to say he wished he could skin the man alive.
However, now clearly wasn’t the time to pick a fight with the media. The top priority was stabilizing the situation.
So Nathan took a deep breath and shouted, “Everyone, quiet down!”
His words, laced with thunderous anger, instantly silenced the entire banquet hall.
The crowd fell quiet and looked up at Nathan, waiting for his answer.
Nathan took the microphone from his subordinate’s hands and sternly declared, “First of all, I will absolutely not be divorcing Olivia!”
“Olivia is the only woman I’ve ever loved. She is my wife, and only she deserves to be my wife!”
“We will never divorce. Any news about us getting divorced is just rumor!”
“I can tell you all with full certainty that my marriage with Olivia will only end with one of our deaths, never in divorce!”
This statement once again sent the entire banquet into a frenzy.
“As expected of the nation’s number one doting husband. How infatuated!”
“No wonder Olivia dared to make such a scene. It’s because she has such a devoted husband.”
“Ah, I’m so envious of Olivia. If my husband doted on me half as much as Nathan does on her, I’d grin so wide I’d wake up from my dream.”
Amidst the chorus of envious sighs, a reporter’s sharp question stood out.

Chapter #
“Mr. Reed, if you and Olivia sten’t divorting, then why didn’t Olivia attend tonight’s banquet with you?”
“And who is that woman beside you? Why does she resemble your adopted daughter so much? What is your relationship with her?
“Looking closely, your adopted son looks a lot like you too. Could it be that he’s actually your illegitimate child??”
