Chapter 6
As Olivia began seriously preparing for divorce, Nathan continued his passionate affair with Claire,
He probably figured that since Claire didn’t have much longer to live, he needed to seize every opportunity to be with her while he still could. Whenever possible, he would pin Claire beneath him, ravishing her with desperate intensity.
Every time they had their trysts, Claire would secretly record them and send the videos to Olivia.
They didn’t just have sex in the study. During morning jogs, they’d have wild encounters in the nearby park. Nathan would even bring Claire to his office while he was working. In one video Claire had sent, there was even footage of her kneeling under his desk, pleasuring him…
Claire’s energy didn’t resemble that of someone near death at all.
No matter how Nathan exhausted her, she could handle it–even seemed to enjoy it.
Olivia had investigated secretly and discovered that Claire didn’t have lymphoma at all. The illness was merely a fabrication to allow her to move into the Reed household with a legitimate excuse.
The lie was so poorly constructed that Olivia had uncovered the truth with minimal effort. If Nathan had wanted to verify it, how could he not have discovered the same?
He simply didn’t want to know.
Because this way, he could continue his affair with Claire without guilt…
“Olivia, you’re really something–a goddamn saint,” Claire finally couldn’t stand Olivia’s lack of reaction to all the videos she’d sent.
She came to taunt Olivia directly: “Nathan is on top of me every night. My legs are so weak from him screwing me.”
“Are you just going to stand by and watch? You’re such a pathetic coward, not even brave enough to confront Nathan!”
“Are you
that afraid of him leaving you? You act so cool and unbothered, but you’re terrified inside, aren’t you?”
“You’re scared that if you make a scene, Nathan will choose me over you.”
Olivia lifted her gaze, giving Claire a cool look: “Are you so certain Nathan would choose you?”
“Of course,” Claire smirked. “If you don’t believe me, let’s find out.”
As she finished speaking, a car suddenly sped toward where Olivia and Claire were standing.
Nathan was nearby. He immediately noticed the danger, dropped everything in his hands, and rushed toward Claire without hesitation.
“Claire, watch out!” He used his body to shield her, holding her tightly behind him.
Olivia had no time to dodge. The car struck her, sending her flying through the air.
Before losing consciousness, the last image she saw was Nathan clutching Claire tightly, using his own body to protect her from all harm…
Blood and tears flowed together. In her hazy consciousness, Olivia suddenly recalled a time when she and Nathan had gone skydiving together. Once, their parachute had malfunctioned and wouldn’t open.
As they were about to plummet to their deaths, Nathan had suddenly wrapped his arms tightly around Olivia, positioning himself beneath her.
This way, whatever impact they faced, Nathan’s body would take the brunt of it first.
He had once used his body to protect her too, with unwavering determination.
But now, he had abandoned her to protect another woman…

Chapter 6
After an unknown period of time in darkness, Olivia faintly heard Nathan’s voice.
She struggled to open her eyes and saw Nathan holding her phone, irritably saying: “What divorce lawyer? You’ve got the wrong numbert
“Olivia and I have a great relationship. We could never get divorced. Our marriage will only end when one of us dies, never in divorce?

Having said that, Nathan hung up the phone with a dark expression.
Olivia wearily closed her eyes. “You shouldn’t have answered my phone without letting me know.”
Only then did Nathan realize Olivia was awake. He hurriedly sat down beside her and anxiously grasped her hand.
“Olivia, you’re awake? Thank God! Do you have any idea how much blood you lost? I was worried sick!”
Olivia gazed at Nathan coldly, not uttering a word.
Seeing this, Nathan asked with a guilty conscience, “Olivia, are you angry with me?”
“Don’t be mad. It’s not that I didn’t want to save you. From my angle, I simply couldn’t see you at all.”
“It was only after saving Claire that I noticed you were there too. My heart nearly shattered then. If I had known you were also in danger, I definitely would have saved you first!”
Olivia suddenly realized that she could no longer distinguish which of Nathan’s words were true and which were lies.
How tragic. They had shared a bed for five whole years. The man before her eyes should have been her most intimate confidante, the one she trusted most in this world.
But now, looking at Nathan, she felt only a sense of estrangement.
The man she had once deeply loved was now merely a rotten memory, never to be restored to his former self.
“I’m tired,” Olivia closed her eyes again, not wanting to look at Nathan for a second longer.
Nathan clearly wanted to say more, but seeing Olivia’s shut eyes, he could only sigh softly. “Alright, rest well then. I’ll go deal with some company matters. I’ll be back soon to keep you company.”
However, not long after Nathan left, Olivia received another taunting video from Claire.
In the video, Claire clung to Nathan’s arm, blissfully asking, “Nathan darling, are you really leaving the entire Reed family fortune to Michael and
Anna?”
“Yes,” Nathan intoned solemnly. “I’ve already had the lawyers draft up the documents. After the banquet begins, I’ll sign those papers in front of everyone, including all the media, publicly acknowledging Michael and Anna as my sole heirs.”
“Our son will inherit Reed Group while our daughter will inherit over half of the Reed family properties, as well as all the priceless jewelry owned by my mother and Olivia.”
Those jewels were each worth millions… Altogether, their value was astronomical!
Claire couldn’t help but reveal a smug expression. Still, she pretended to ask with concern, “Will Olivia agree to it? After all, Michael and Anna aren’t her biological children. If she has kids of her own in the future…”
“Olivia will never have children,” Nathan declared resolutely. “Michael and Anna will be her only children.”
“She has no choice. I won’t allow her to give birth. She can only raise Michael and Anna as if they were her own flesh and blood.”
“Claire, although I can’t give you marriage, and I can’t give you my undivided love, I promise you that all my assets belong to our children!”
Nathan held Claire’s hand, making a solemn vow:
“Olivia has my heart, but you and the kids have my entire fortune!”
The video ended abruptly there. Olivia gripped her phone tightly, with so much force that her knuckles turned a ghastly white.
