Chapter 21
Fresh out of college, she had interviewed at fuller Corp with naive enthusiasm, but at a critical moment, someone deliberately spilled coffee on her clothes,
She hid in a corner crying until Ethan suddenly appeared, offering a women’s silk scarf to cover her.
Before the could thank him, he had walked away.
Only when she entered the meeting room did she discover her rescuer was the company’s CEO.
Her feelings for Ethan had begun that day.
She didn’t care that he was already married or that she would only be his mistress.
She liked him–the man who had descended like a deity to rescue her from disaster.
But she had completely forgotten how Ethan happened to have a women’s silk scarf, or how he had found her just after she left the women’s restroom.
Sophia returned home with groceries but found an exhausted–looking Ethan in the lobby.
He stared painfully at the bags in her hands and her smiling face that froze upon seeing him.
He suddenly recalled with heartache how they used to shop together, buy groceries together, return home to cook together.
He remembered his stomach problems and how Sophia had specifically taken cooking classes.
“Sophia… do you refuse to see me because of Wade Fuller?”
Ethan struggled to speak.
“Trust me, I had no choice. Samuel and the Fuller family forced me-”
“Ethan Fuller, you think too highly of yourself.”
Troy emerged from behind Sophia, taking the bags from her hands.
“Sophia never expected you to seek justice for her. She never thought you would.”
Sophia’s gaze fell on Troy’s face, her heart suddenly beating faster.
Seeing her reaction, Ethan bit his lip until it bled, his body trembling.
He looked at Troy with hatred. “Damn it, it’s all because of you!”
He lunged forward to punch Troy but was blocked by Sophia standing between them.
“Ethan Fuller, are you a rabid dog?”
“The Fuller family is already in chaos. I suggest you focus on your own path forward!”

Chapter 21
Sophia pulled Troy’s arm and walked inside
She completely missed Troy’s taunting look back at Ethan.
He couldn’t have been more satisfied at that moment!
Back at the Fuller house, chaos reigned,
Samuel Fuller was in a rage, punching Ethan in the face.
Ethan immediately spat blood.
“All these years, I asked you to find Troy Fuller, but you found nothing, I fed you, clothed you, helped you reach the pinnacle of the Fuller family, and this is how you repay met
Ethan wiped the blood from his mouth, glancing at his terrified mother.
He laughed bitterly, “I was just your trained dog, attacking whoever you told me to. If you couldn’t find Troy, what made you think I could?”
Samuel grew so agitated he was sweating profusely. Just as he was about to kick Ethan, his chest suddenly tightened, and he clutched his heart in pain.
His mother rushed over to check on him, while Ethan left without a backward glance, grabbing his coat on the way out.
After hearing Sophia’s words, Veronica desperately wanted to confront Ethan
She inexplicably needed to know whether Sophia had orchestrated their first meeting.
Not far away, she spotted Ethan leaving the Fuller mansion with a swollen face.
She ran forward, and just as she approached, a car suddenly accelerated toward her and Ethan.
A loud crash sent both Ethan and Veronica flying, spitting blood.
The car sped away without stopping.
Sophia learned of Ethan’s accident a week later.
Though injured, he had been pushed aside by Veronica at the critical moment.
The most severely injured was Veronica herself.
The perpetrator had been caught by police–it was Veronica’s uncle, recently released from prison.
He had attacked them because Veronica hadn’t kept her promises to him, driving his wife to divorce him and preventing him from seeing his child.
In his rage, he had taken out his anger on both Veronica and Ethan.
Though Ethan’s injuries weren’t severe, he remained in a coma, repeatedly calling Sophia’s name.
