Sophia was preparing to return to China, but Troy appeared just before she boarded.
Sophia looked at him with surprise.
She knew Troy was busy–countering Ethan, countering the Fuller family,
Seeing her staring at him, Troy burst out laughing.
He reached out and gently pinched Sophia’s cheek.
“I know I’m handsome, but you’re staring too directly!”
Sophia lowered her eyes. “I can go by myself. You don’t need to accompany me.”
“I’m not coming especially for you. I’d already planned to return–my business here is nearly finished
Seeing his persistence, Sophia stopped arguing.
Throughout the journey, whenever Sophia was thirsty, Troy pulled out her favorite drinks, snacks, and ratios ants from ins bag.
Sophia had all these items in her own bag–identical to Troy’s carefully prepared ones, right down to the brand
Looking at Troy pretending to sleep beside her with his eye mask, her heart was wrapped in warmth
Being valued like the apple of someone’s eye–she thought no woman in the world could remain unmoved
Troy kept his eyes closed, his lips curving slightly upward.
In the days that followed, Troy acted like a bodyguard, protecting Sophia twenty–four hours a day.
Sophia had planned to stay in a hotel, but Troy tentatively suggested she stay at his home.
When Sophia didn’t answer, he frantically waved his hands to explain
“No one lives there, but it’s regularly cleaned. Don’t worry–I may like you, but I promise I’ll behave
Sophia laughed. “Fine, it’ll save money.”
Under renewed pressure from Samuel, Ethan was forced to drop all charges against Wade Fuller.

Samuel had never truly trusted him.
Troy had anticipated Ethan’s surrender and quietly submitted evidence of Wade’s and the Fuller family’s various crimes.
Over the years, he had remained in the shadows to investigate the Fuller family’s behind–the–scenes illegal activities.
He hadn’t lied to Sophia–though his surname was Fuller, he had never considered himself part of the family.
What he wanted was never to be the Fuller patriarch.
Troy Fuller had no interest in the Fuller family!
With Sophia’s evidence and Troy’s influence, Wade’s crimes were irrefutable.
The Fuller family also came under investigation by various departments.
Sophia next encountered Veronica outside a bar.
She was merely passing by when the drunken Veronica grabbed her tightly.
“Sophia Reed, you really aren’t dead!”
Veronica glared at Sophia with hatred–filled eyes.
Sophia coldly pushed her hand away. “Whether I’m dead or alive has nothing to do with you.”
Veronica was provoked by her coldness.
These days, Ethan wouldn’t answer any of her calls.
That day, she had been kicked off the bed by Ethan.
She cursed him bitterly for his heartlessness, showing him her severed finger.
But all she saw was Ethan’s furrowed brow and look of disgust as he told her to take it away!
Watching Veronica’s hatred, Sophia suddenly found it amusing.
The one who should hate and complain shouldn’t be her, should it?
“Veronica, I owe you nothing. If we’re counting debts, you owe me far too much.”
“You’re talking nonsense! If not for you, Ethan wouldn’t treat me this way! He loved me so much he was willing to give up everything to run away with me. It’s because of you! Because you faked your death, he abandoned me!”
As she spoke, Veronica lunged at Sophia’s face with her clawed hands.
Sophia slapped her hard across the face.
The crisp sound stunned Veronica.

“Stap!” Another blow landed on the other side of her face,
Sophia’s eyes were cold, as if seeing through everything
“You’re insane, Sophia Reed!”
“Slap!”
“Veronica, those three slaps are what you owe me. You think your clumsy self could get a job at Fuller Corp by accident? You so called salvation was nothing but a joke. You’d never guess that the person who initially rejected you most strongly was your dearest lover,”
Veronica stood frozen.
