Chapter 17
Sophia was being carried tightly in Troy’s arms as they exited.
Ethan, about to step inside, suddenly stopped as if sensing something.
“Mr. Fuller, your car keys.”
“Thank you.”
Troy’s complete attention was focused on Sophia.
Smiling, he took the keys and was about to walk toward the door.
“Sophia Reed!”
Ethan suddenly called out, and after reacting, he didn’t know why he had blurted her name.
His eyes were blurry, seeing nothing, but he somehow sensed her nearby.
Hearing Ethan’s voice so unexpectedly, Sophia’s mind exploded.
She hadn’t anticipated Ethan appearing here.
Troy’s arms tightened around her.
Troy had only recently learned of Sophia’s feelings, and he had so many thoughts he wanted to share with her. How could Ethan suddenly appear?
Remembering what
Ethan had done to Sophia, Troy’s entire body filled with rage.
He gently set Sophia down, approached Ethan with a grim face, and before Ethan could react, delivered a straight punch to his face.
“What right do you have to
“Troy!”
say
her name, you bastard!”
Sophia instinctively called out Troy’s name.
Having been inexplicably punched, Ethan heard Sophia’s voice through his confusion.
He anxiously turned toward the source of the sound, frustrated that he couldn’t see Sophia’s face.
Tears streamed down his cheeks. “So–Sophia, it really is you? You’re really not dead!”
Troy finally noticed something wrong with Ethan.
He waved his hand in front of Ethan’s eyes but got no reaction.
Troy laughed mockingly. ” Guess karma’s a bitch! -You’re blind now,
you bastard.”

Chapter 17
Sophia looked at Ethan with surprise.
Seeing that he truly couldn’t locate her correct position, she confirmed it.
Ethan really couldn’t see..
Sophia calmly stepped forward, took Troy’s arm, and brushed the dust from his pants “Using your fist to hit him–don’t you know that forces act in both directions?”
Troy curved his lips, staring straight at Sophia with a smile. “Worth it. He deserves it. I’ll punch this scumbag every time I see him!”
Ethan’s face showed pain as Sophia completely ignored him.
His lips trembled as he tried to determine Sophia’s position.
“Sophia, I was wrong. I was completely wrong before. I didn’t know you were targeted because of me. I-”
“Enough!”
Sophia suddenly interrupted Ethan.
At this moment, Ethan couldn’t see Sophia’s whole body trembling or the disgust in her eyes.
But Troy saw it all.
He pulled Sophia into his embrace, using his body heat to drive away her chill.
Sophia suddenly looked up at him, seeing Troy’s ice–cold eyes fixed on Ethan.
“Ethan Fuller, all of Sophia’s suffering came from you. In the end, all you can say is a weightless ‘I didn’t know? Do you even deserve to call yourself a man?”
With that, he took Sophia’s hand and walked away without looking back.
Ethan heard the sound of high heels growing distant. He quickly scrambled to his feet, but bumped into the door as he rose. Supporting himself on his knee, he stumbled forward in pursuit.
But when he reached outside, Sophia’s footsteps had vanished.
Ethan let out a helpless cry, pain numbing his nerves. For the first time, he realized how useless he was–unable even to keep the woman he loved.
The next moment, as if struck by inspiration, he quickly pulled out his phone and called Jason back home.
“Jason, Sophia’s alive! She’s really still alive!”
“She’s still angry with me, but my eyes have gone blind again. She won’t listen to me. Book the next flight and come quickly–help me explain everything to her!”
All the way home, Sophia stared out the window.

Chapter 17
All her good mood had been shattered by Ethan’s appearance.
The painful memories she had buried deep inside were once again violently torn open.
When that incident happened, the Fuller family relatives were causing the most trouble.
They all opposed Samuel giving the family business to Ethan.
But Samuel was determined, listening to no one.
Because of this, Fuller family members repeatedly sent people to try to kill Ethan.
But those men didn’t know Sophia’s identity,
She was cornered in an alley, forced to call Ethan, told that if she didn’t stop him from attending the meeting, everyone present would take turns violating her.
With no choice, she called Ethan.
But he didn’t answer.
That day, though she wasn’t raped, her clothes were torn off and countless videos were taken.
After that incident, she completely collapsed into depression. Ethan stayed by her side, helping her recover.
Fearing he would blame himself, Sophia never told Ethan the truth.
But she never imagined that the person she would have died to protect would one day drive a knife deep into her heart for
another woman!
Sophia hadn’t died that rainy night seven years ago–she had died in what she thought was her happiest time.
She hadn’t lied to Ethan.
The former Sophia had already died.
Long before, beneath the aurora.
