Claire lay in a pool of blood, tears streaming down her face.
She sobbed, her voice nearly broken with despair: “…No… I don’t believe it. Nathan, you told me you loved me–that you loved me so much it drove you
crazy.”
“I can’t believe that in your eyes, I’m just some worthless slut you can sacrifice without a second thought.”
As she cried, she painfully crawled to Nathan’s feet, then reached out with her blood–stained hands to touch his long legs.
“I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it! Nathan, darling, you do love me, don’t you? You must love me, right?”
But Nathan simply lifted his foot and kicked Claire aside with an impatient expression!
“I did like you somewhat, but what I liked was how sweet and obedient you were, how you knew how to make me happy,” Nathan said with a cold smirk.
“Get it now? To me, you’re like a sex doll. When I’m in a good mood, I’ll play with you. When I’m not, I could crush you under my foot at any moment!”
“But Olivia is different. She’s the only love of my life. Only a goddess as elegant and refined as her deserves to be my true love. As for you… just a worn–out play doll I’ve used up.”
“Before, you were obedient enough, understanding enough, so I was willing to be good to you, willing to throw you a few scraps of affection.”
“If you had just kept quietly serving me and stayed in your lane without causing trouble, I wouldn’t have minded keeping you around.”
“But you crossed the one line you should never have crossed–you flaunted yourself in front of Olivia!”
“How you dared to backstab me, sending her those filthy videos, repeatedly provoking her… Claire, you stepped way over the line!”
As he spoke, Nathan grabbed Claire by the throat, then said with vicious intensity: “Because of you, Olivia now wants a divorce. She even called the police and got a restraining order against me.”
“You worthless bitch, you’ve ruined everything for me. How should I punish you for this?”
Hearing this, Claire cowered, pleading through her tears: “Nathan, I’m sorry! I won’t ever dare do it again. Please, forgive me!”
“I’ll behave from now on, I promise. I’ll be good and do whatever you say. I won’t cross any more lines–please spare me!”
But Nathan’s gaze only grew colder.
“Now you finally understand, but it’s too late,” Nathan said icily. “I just told you, I hate being played the most.”
“Since you claimed you had cancer, let’s send you to the hospital for chemotherapy. When you’re sick, you need proper treatment, right?”
As he spoke, a disturbing, terrifying smile spread across Nathan’s face.
Claire seemed to realize what was happening and began struggling frantically: “No! Nathan! You can’t do this to me!”
“I’m Michael and Anna’s mother! If you do this to me, Michael and Anna will never forgive you!”
At this, Nathan gave a sinister smile: “That would require Michael and Anna to know what I did.”
“Besides, I think when Michael and Anna learn the truth, they should hate you more.”
“Because originally, they were set to inherit all my wealth. But now, because of you, they won’t get a single penny.”
Claire froze abruptly. She looked up at Nathan with utter disbelief: “What do you mean? Michael and Anna are your flesh and blood. You can’t just abandon them, can you?”

Chapter 19
“I would like to take care of them, but Olivia already knows they’re your children,” Nathan said coldly. “I know Olivia well. Even if she forgives me eventually, she’ll never accept these two bastards you gave birth to.”
“So unfortunately, these bastards you produced won’t inherit anything.”
“I’ll adopt them out to distant relatives in the Reed family who have no descendants. Then I’ll publicly claim they’re distant relations of the Reed
family.”
“They won’t starve, but in this lifetime, they can forget about inheriting the Reed family fortune!”
