I slammed my thick textbooks onto the desk, the thud heavy and resonant,
silencing the room. I looked at Sarah with a smirk, “Were you trying to show off,
or humiliate me?”
The smile froze on Sarah’s face; she looked hurt and shrank back.“Bella,
what do you mean by that?”
“You already have the key and deliberately asked me for it, making it seem
like I was making things difficult for you. Why do you always do this? Once
could be an oversight, but if it happens repeatedly, are you just forgetful or
intentionally making me look malicious?”
As I spoke, I pointed at the keychain on her bag. In the past, I was too busy
and unwilling to maintain my image; the pressure from my brothers, I couldn’t
fight back, leading to misunderstandings.
This time, I wouldn’t let Sarah get away with it. If nobody believed me, I’d
show them Sarah’s true colors.
Sarah’s eyes flickered; she instinctively glanced at her keychain. Yesterday,
when I’d given my apologies, I had given her a set of keys. She’d casually attached
them to her bag, not realizing one was the lab key! After all, I liked Seth so much
that I cried when he gave my spot to her. How would she think I would just give

“You asked for it, and I gave it to you. How could you not know?” I stared at
her intently.
Some classmates were still lingering in the classroom, initially hoping for
some drama, but now they were getting a front–row seat!
“Seems like Sarah always innocently ask Bella for things.”
“I felt sorry for her; she lost her parents and brother, living with the Miller
family, always being bullied by Bella. Now it seems she was entirely faking it!”
Their voices were soft, but the room was quiet; their words reached all of us.
Sarah’s friends immediately protested. “You don’t understand! Bella always
makes things difficult for Sarah, so Sarah misunderstands that she didn’t give her
anything!”
The girl who spoke felt awkward after being overheard, mumbling, “If she
were truly kind, she wouldn’t question Bella without knowing the facts! Who’s
actually making things difficult for whom! Honestly!”
