Kevin’s lips curled into a wicked smile, radiating an aura of
dominance.“Come on, let’s check out the room I prepared for you. Do you like it?
A sister needs to be pampered; otherwise, she’ll get bullied.”
“Kevin!” Seth roared in anger.
But Kevin had already taken my hand, leading me inside.

The next morning, I opened my eyes, surprised to find I felt pretty good. In
my past life, I was still running a high fever, nearly dying. This time, with
medication and rest, I was fine overnight.
As I headed downstairs, Kevin’s stunning face came into view. He leaned
against the dining table, idly playing with his phone. His black suit accentuated
his tall figure, exuding an unruly and domineering aura.
Noticing my footsteps, Kevin lifted his deep, dark eyes to meet mine, a
wicked smile creeping onto his face.
“Eat quickly; I’ll take you to school,” he ordered.
“No need to bother; I can take the bus,” I replied, feeling a bit shy.
But he stood up, radiating a powerful presence. He gently lifted my chin,
forcing me to look into his teasing eyes. “Finally, I can take
my
sister to school.

I’ve surpassed the Smith brothers in everything except having a sister. Today,
they’ll see that Kevin has a sister too!”
He wanted to show me off.
I thought he was just trying to comfort me, and I felt grateful, silently noting
his kindness.
After breakfast, we were ready to leave.

“Wait a second, I forgot something,” Kevin turned back into the house.
Waiting outside, I noticed the plum blossoms. In the cold winter, they
bloomed proudly, emitting a faint fragrance.
I was lost in their beauty when I suddenly heard familiar voices. Seth and
Sarah walked by, and I didn’t want them to ruin my good mood, so I quickly
looked away, preparing to head back.
“Bella” Sarah called out “Are you going to school too? Seth can give you a
ride since he’s taking me
Seth, still angry, snorted “My car doesn’t carry ungrateful brats.”
Sarah feigned concern, “Seth, don’t be like that. Bella’s been kicked out; it’s so
sad. It’s freezing, and she ‘ll be late walking to school.

“That’s none of my business,” he said condescendingly. “If she wants to ride
in my car, she needs to apologize. If she’s sincere, I might consider giving her a
lift; otherwise, she can walk!”
He glared at me, waiting for my apology. It had been a whole night, and he
was giving me an out. I should apologize properly. If I did, he might let me go
back.
My body trembled at the thought. I remembered my past life, feverish and
weak, but Seth still made me apologize to Sarah, threatening me with no ride if I
didn’t. The irony was that I had done it to help him with his drone competition!
