Chapter 6
Raising an eyebrow indifferently, Elijah wasn’t easily provoked by Mukesh’s words.
But Camelia frowned protectively;
“Mukesh, Elijah isn’t anything like what you’re saying. And why are you here anyway? Trespassing on private property without permission is illegal.”
Hearing that she was trying to make him leave, Mukesh’s expression darkened considerably. He completely forgot he’d come to win her back, not to argue
“Camelia, I’ve personally come all this way to find you. Please stop this childish tantrum and come home with me.”
“Home?”
Camelia looked at Mukesh as if he were insane.
She asked him:
“Did you hit your head in a car accident? We’re divorced. Didn’t you see the signed divorce papers I sent?”
While the chance of lost mail was small, it wasn’t impossible.
Just as she was considering printing another copy of the divorce agreement, she heard him arrogantly declare:
“I tore that ridiculous divorce agreement to shreds.
Camelia, I know why you’re upset. I’ve dealt with Elowen. I can promise you she’ll never bother you again.”
Mukesh urgently stepped toward Camelia, raising his hand to touch the face he’d been dreaming about day and night.
But before he could touch her, she pushed him away.
Her tone was flat:
“Mr. Willibert, when the Aditi family fell on hard times, only the Willibert family offered help.
During these nine years of marriage, I’ve been constantly trying to repay that debt.
Now that Elowen is carrying your child, the Willibert family finally has an heir.
I sincerely wish the three of you eternal happiness.”
At this point, as intelligent as Mukesh was, he couldn’t miss that she was determined to leave him.
In that moment, he completely lost his composure.
