Chapter 7
Talon didn’t even want to give her a chance to explain, completely refusing to listen.
Looking at his cold gaze, Emma knew that saying more would be futile.
She didn’t bother with further explanations, just smiling silently.
“So why have you come here?”
“Of course to make you go apologize to Sophia!”
Talon grabbed her injured hand without any consideration, about to drag her off to apologize.
Emma was gripped so tightly that her wound began bleeding again, tears welling up from the pain.
But she endured it without crying out, struggling to break free from his grip.
Just then, Zoe returned and immediately shielded Emma behind her.
Talon looked at the two of them coldly, his tone brooking no refusal.
“Move aside! She must apologize to Sophia today!”
“I won’t! I’m certain Emma did nothing wrong! You favor Sophia, but there’s a camera in my room. Everything that happened yesterday is recorded. If you want to force Emma to apologize, you’ll have to watch the footage first!”
Zoe didn’t back down an inch, her voice hoarse with
emotion.

Talon was so angry that the veins on his forehead visible, but just as he was about to speak, Sophia’s message suddenly came through.
He glanced at the screen, forcibly swallowing his anger, and left with a final statement.
“We’ll review the footage tonight. When the evidence is clear, let’s see what you have to
say!”

Watching him slam the door as he left, the room fell silent again.
Zoe carefully treated Emma’s wounds while repeatedly apologizing.
Emma gently shook her head, wiping away the tears from the corner of Zoe’s eye.
“Zoe, you don’t need to apologize. The person who did wrong was never us. I’m about to leave now, and in the future, take good care of yourself.”
Zoe nodded firmly, accompanying her back to get her luggage and taking her straight to the
airport.
The flight to Los Angeles was already announcing boarding, and Emma gave Zoe one last hug before resolutely turning to enter the check–in gate.
After boarding the plane, she deleted all of Talon’s contact information.
Zoe’s final message came through just in time.
“Emma, be happy every day back home. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely uncover the truth
tonight and clear your name.”
Emma smiled as she watched the screen gradually darken, turning her gaze to the clouds outside the airplane window.
For her, what truth, what vindication–none of it mattered anymore.
After all, Talon Sullivan, along with all the pain he had caused her, had already disappeared from her memory.
She would bid farewell to all of this. Forever and completely.
Emma dragged her suitcase, standing at the door with an exhausted face. She tucked the bandage covering her injured hand further into her sleeve, making sure it wasn’t visible before raising her hand to knock.
“Who is it?” Her mother’s inquiring voice came from inside.
Mrs. Pier
opened the door to see Emma and asked in surprise: “Emma, you actually came back? I thought you were just saying that to appease me.”

She then turned and called toward the house: “Emma’s back!”
“What? Emma really came back?” Mr. Pierce quickly stood up from the sofa and walked toward the door.
He took Emma’s suitcase inside, while Mrs. Pierce linked arms with Emma and pulled her
- in.
“Why did you really come back? You and Talon…”
Before Mrs. Pierce could finish, Emma interrupted: “Mom, I was in a car accident and lost my memory. I don’t remember anything about him.”
Hearing that Emma had been in an accident, Mrs. Pierce immediately wanted to take her for a check–up.
Emma hurriedly stopped her, afraid her mother would discover the injury on her hand.
“I’m fine now, you really don’t need to worry.”
“Before, I was just blind to people’s true nature, loving someone I shouldn’t have and chasing after him for years.”
“This car accident and memory loss might be a blessing–let’s just say the past me was asking for trouble. As for that arranged marriage you mentioned, I’ve always refused to honor it, probably breaking their hearts, Now that I’m back, let’s meet the man.”
Hearing this, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce burst into laughter before lovingly pulling Emma into their arms. “Silly girl, what arranged marriage? We made that up because we saw you obsessing over that friend’s brother with no result. We just wanted to trick you. There’s no
arranged marriage–you’re fre arranged marriage–you’re free to be with whoever you want. But not that friend’s brother. After all these years of your one–sided devotion, he still gave nothing back. You’ll just exhaust yourself loving someone like that.”
Hearing her parents‘ loving words, Emma couldn’t help but tear up, hugging them both tightly.
“I know, Mom and Dad. Maybe this memory loss was heaven–sent, giving me a chance. I’ll never like him again.”
