Chapter 67
She left these for us,” Gina sai her voice uncharacteristically subded.
One paper had my name written on it, but my wolf’s instincts wouldn’t let me face it yet. Victoria snatched the paper addressed to her from Gina’s hand and quickly opened it.
She sank onto the bed as she read, tears streaming down her face. Tyler stood beside her, his expression grim.
“Why?” Victoria choked out after finishing. “Why would she…?”
My breathing grew ragged, and I stumbled backward. Tyler reached out to steady me.
“Find her!” I roared from the center of the room. “Damn it! Start searching immediately! Mia! Alert all border posts!”
“Yes, Alpha,” my Beta and warriors responded, racing off in different directions.
My eyes burned brighter gold than ever before as I raged, “Rachel, how dare you!!”

With nowhere to direct my Alpha fury, I turned to a portrait of the Moon Goddess hanging on the wall, ripping it down and hurling it across the room.
The frame crashed to the floor, glass shattering into thousands of pieces, startling everyone in the room but doing nothing to quell the rage and fear of my wolf.
“Alpha!” A warrior appeared in the doorway, breathing heavily.
I spun around, hope flashing in my eyes. “Speak.”
“Someone saw Rachel outside the castle just minutes ago, near the garden cliff edge!”
I recalled Victoria’s reaction after reading the note, and my heart began racing. I understood there wasn’t a second to waste.
I bolted toward the door, my shoulder colliding with Madison who had just arrived.
I paused for only a second as she raised an eyebrow. “Alpha, what are you doing? The dinner isn’t over.”
“Move,” I growled.
Madison’s face twisted with disgust. “Are you going after that breeder?”
“I SAID MOVE!!!” I roared, then wasted no more time as I rushed past her.
I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, praying to the Moon Goddess that I would reach Rachel in time.
The garden cliff wasn’t far from the Moon Goddess Suite, but in the storm, it felt impossibly distant.
I charged through hallways and burst out of the nearest exit. The storm raged outside, r the least of my concerns.

Chapter 67
Even in the darkness, I could clearly make out her blue dress, her copper hair soaked by rain, tears mixing with raindrops on her face
“RACHEL!” I shouted, reaching but my hand, but we were still hundreds of yards apart.
The muddy ground made.running difficult, but my wolf gave me extr strength as I desperately tried to pull her back to safety.
Rachel raised her hand to wipe away tears, seemingly hearing my voice. She turned her head in my direction.
For a fleeting moment, I thought she might step toward me.
Thunder shook the ground, lightning flashed behind Rachel, illuminating the tears and determination on her face, and then… she
was gone.
I watched in horror, as she hovered in the air for a heartbeat, her copper hair swirling in the wind, before she plummeted over the cliff’s edge.
I froze the instant Rachel disappeared, my entire body rigid with shock.
My heart seemed to stop beating, my breath caught in my throat.
As ear–splitting thunder tore through the sky, the brutal reality hit me.
“RACHEL !!!” I howled in anguish, knowing no werewolf could survive such a fall.
With the sound of bones breaking and clothes tearing, I transformed into a massive black wolf.
I threw back my head and released a long, mournful howl that pierced the night sky, drowning out even the thunder. Every muscle in my body trembled with despair.
Rachel was gone–my heir, my… everything, gone with her.
