Chapter 46
Rachel’s POV
I stared at the bowl of green herbal mush in front of me, wrinkling my nose as my wolf growled in displeasure within me. Gina laughed when she saw my expression.
“Do I really have to eat this stuff that smells like rotting leaves?” I protested, pushing the bowl away slightly.
It had been several days since I’d been confined to the Moon Goddess Suite, and my wolf was beginning to pace restlessly inside me, yearning for freedom and a good run.
Being pregnant apparently meant everyone treated me like I was made of glass.
“Rachel, it’s not that bad!” Gina insisted, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “It smells kind of like herbal tea.”
“Do I really have to eat that? My wolf is completely rejecting it,” I mumbled, the scent making my stomach turn despite Emma’s assurances that morning sickness should be easing up.
Victoria leaned forward, her amber eyes serious. “Emma says it’s Moon Goddess herbal pudding, full of nutrients that are good for werewolf babies-”
“Can’t I have real food?” I asked. “Bacon, eggs, something like that. The smell of meat is driving me crazy right now.” Just thinking about bacon made my mouth water, my wolf practically howling with desire.
Gina grinned, placing a supportive hand on my shoulder. “You’d better listen. But if you really want it, I can give it to you.”
Victoria shot Gina an exasperated look. “Gina, don’t encourage her. You know what Emma said–Alpha bloodline cubs need special
nutrition.”
“Then could you please talk to Emma for me?” I pleaded. “I don’t know why, but I just want bacon. My wolf is screaming for meat.“)
Before Victoria could respond, a familiar scent filled the room–cold pine, immediately setting my wolf on alert.
Nathan stood in the doorway, his imposing frame filling the space, his gray eyes instantly finding mine.
Oh goddess, the last thing I wanted was for Nathan to worry about my diet. The Alpha might think I was dissatisfied with everything he provided.
“Is there a problem?” he asked, his scent becoming thicker, more territorial as he stepped into the room.
Gina, never one to hold back, jumped right in. “Emma’s making Rachel eat this disgusting green herbal mush, and her wolf is completely rejecting it. She wants bacon. You should see her face when she talks about it–it’s hilarious.”
“Gina…” I said softly, not wanting to aggravate the Alpha.”
Nathan’s eyebrow rose, a flash of gold flickering in his gray eyes. “Fine, I’ll take care of it.”
He stepped out into the hallway, phone in hand. I turned to Victoria and Gina, confused. Nathan never bothered with such trivial
matters.
When he returned moments later, he addressed me directly. “That’s been taken care of. Now, how are you feeling? Is the baby alright?”
The sudden concern in his voice took me by surprise. “I feel good, aqually. No more nausea. My wolf is calmer too.”

“Except for her cravings,” Gina whispered loudly. “The mother wolf instincts are already kicking in.”
“I don’t have cravings,” I protested. “This is just normal hunger.”
Oh, really? Gina’s eyes sparkled mischievously. “One word… bacon. Your eyes turned green when you said it.”
Victoria joined in, grinning. Oh, it’s not just bacon. Don’t forget the venison steak she requested, or the roasted potatoes with extra gravy and bacon bits. Oh, and the strawberries with yogurt, and of course, chocolate cake, but not just any chocolate cake… only the one made by the Ironjaw castle chef.”
“But his is the best…” I said softly, shocked at their betrayal as my wolf rejoiced at the memory of that delicious taste.
This time Nathan chuckled a light, warm sound that måde all three of us turn to stare at him as if witnessing an eclipse, something so rare it demanded attention. His scent warmed pleasantly.
“At least you’re feeling better,” he noted. “That’s good for our heir.”
Nathan turned to me, his voice dropping to a low, commanding tone. “Rachel… come with me.” He gestured toward another bedroom.
The Luna Suite has three small rooms. But I seldom went to another room, so I was still a bit surprised.
“Oh, of course, Alpha,” I responded immediately, my wolf almost impossible to resist when Alpha called.
I barely had time to register what was happening before my back was gently pressed against the door, Nathan’s hands at my hips. His pine scent completely enveloped me, becoming hot and enticing
It surprised me, but my wolf rejoiced at Alpha’s touch.
“Did I do something wrong, Alpha?” I asked nervously. His eyes were already beginning to turn gold, which usually meant his wolf was near the surface.
“No. Call me Nathan,” he commanded before his lips captured mine in a hungry kiss.
