Chapter 139
Rachel’s POV
The interior decorations resembled the buna suite in Emerald City, though smaller and cozier.
Where the Luna suite had dark, regal furniture conveying grandeur, this house featured soft cream–colored bedding and curtains, warm and bright. Subtle forest and moon patterns adorned the walls, suggesting werewolf tradition without being
obvious.
Looking at the master bedroom with its elegant canopy bed and warm fireplace, memories of my time with Nathan in the Luna suite flooded back, making my heart ache with longing.
I could imagine myself reading stories to our pup by the fireplace, waiting for Nathan to arrive through the secret tunnel.
“Rose, are you alright?” Carter noticed my sudden change in expression.
“Yes, of course!” I quickly replied, trying to control my scent.
“This property just came on the market a few hours ago. The seller seems eager to close the deal… perhaps too eager…” His eyes narrowed suspiciously.
“But I really like how it looks.” I couldn’t hide the anticipation in my voice.
“Hmm… we have several others to consider.”
“I’m quite satisfied with this one. But Carter, ultimately this is your investment. If you want to see it in person-*
He said, “Rose, if it feels right to you, then it’s right. I trust your judgment.”
“Carter-”
“Yes, Rose?”
“Um… why are you buying new property now?”
“Because investing in real estate is a sound business decision right now. Is there a problem?”
“No, no problem. I just… wondered if your business was related to the border war?”
“Certainly not! Let me handle this transaction.” His tone became hurried.
Within minutes, he looked up from his phone. “Done. The seller accepted my offer. We can close immediately and move
in.”
“That’s wonderful! Thank you so much, Carter!” My eyes
Sparkled with joy.
“If you’re happy, I’m happy.” His gaze lingered on me longer than usual.
“Thank you again for everything you’ve done for me, Carter.”
“I just wish…” he said softly, “you didn’t have to leave here.”

“Well, I’m still in your territory,” I responded gently.
“It’s not the same,” he murmured.
On moving day, Selena led me into my new home, where Carter warriors had already delivered all my belongings.
“Rachel, everything’s been moved in. Come see!” Her voice bubbled with excitement.
As we organized the rooms, I felt an unprecedented sense of freedom and excitement.
In every corner, I detected faint notes of pine, reminding me of Nathan’s presence. I couldn’t wait for him to come through the secret tunnel and join me here.
While arranging the nursery, Selena and I sorted through baby clothes, toys, and necessities.
“This unborn child already has so many things,” she laughed, folding a small blanket.
I smiled. “I know. That’s because this little wolf is deeply loved.
As we worked, I noticed a silver locket that had fallen from Selena’s pocket. When I picked it up, it accidentally opened, revealing a miniature portrait of a noble werewolf woman with copper hair, wearing a crescent moon crown.
Her eyes held wisdom and power beyond ordinary werewolves–eyes strangely similar to my own.
“Selena.” My voice turned serious.
“Oh, you found it, Rachel. Thank you!” She quickly reached for it.
“Selena?” I noticed her scent change, tinged with fear and wariness.
“Yes, Rachel. Oh, here you go.” I handed her the locket.
“You seem preoccupied. Are you alright?” Her eyes keenly observed me.
“Um… yes, don’t worry.”
“Dear, is there something wrong with the locket?” Her voice was soft but alert:
“No, nothing’s wrong. Just that the lady in your locket reminded me of my mother.”
“How so?” Her posture suddenly stiffened.
“My mother also had beautiful copper hair,” I said softly, my eyes reflecting my longing.
“Those who have passed watch over us under the Moon Goddess’s guidance. Don’t be sad, Rachel.” Her tone became mysteriously gentle.
“Thank you, Selena.”
After Selena left, I began anticipating Nathan’s arrival. I bathed in warm water infused with lavender and jasmine, making my scent more enticing. I changed into a soft silk robe.

Chapter 139
I walked through the house, searching for possible secret tunnel entrances. After an hour, I opened the living room window, hoping Nathan would sense the signal.
Another hour passed, the night growing deeper, with no sign of Nathan’s scent.
recalled waiting for him in the Luna suite at Emerald City. Then I was just his breeder, but now I’m his Luna, worth crossing territories for, the thought made my heart race.
My body yearned for my Alpha’s touch, growing sensitive with longing.
As time passed, I became increasingly anxious, worried Nathan might be in danger. My mate bond ached with concern, but I trusted he would find his way to me.
Finally, as I turned to retreat to my bedroom, I felt a powerful Alpha presence. There stood Nathan in the doorway leading from the dining room to the bedroom hallway, the moonlight outlining his powerful frame.
“Nathan…” I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion.
“You’re late,” I gently reproached, though joy sparkled in my eyes.
“I’m sorry, my Luna,” he replied, closing the distance between us in three powerful strides.
We embraced tightly, his lips passionately claiming mine.
