When I turned to face Tyler again, he stood there staring at me as if my words didn’t bother him. Instead, he crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall.

When it was just the two of us, Tyler was usually more a friend than subordinate to me. I chuckled softly, shaking my head.
