Chapter 14
Damon:
“Do what is necessary for my daughter. Even if it means taking her by force.” I said, looking at the pack nurses who nodded.
The tension in my chest was not one that I could easily just ignore. I could still hear Sienna’s
voice, sharp and then wavering, ringing in my ears.
And me?
The question had been quiet, but it was laced with something I couldn’t quite put my finger on. A challenge. A plea. A wound that had yet to heal. And I knew that she was going to do what it was that she could do to try and defend Isla. However, if it meant that she was going to take
her from me, then I would rather I killed her before that happened.
I clenched my jaw, pushing the thought aside. It didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered
was the child. My daughter. Our daughter. She should not have her as a mother in the first
place, however, considering that she was the one who carried her, I was going to allow her to
call herself a mother. But, I also knew this. She was not even fit to be one.
I let out a slow breath as I made my way down the hallway, knowing that this was a matter
that I was going to need to take care of. The entire pack knew about Sienna now. Knew about
her child. Knew that their Alpha had fathered a daughter with a woman who should have never
held that position in the first place.
She was nothing but an Omega. A low rank that I should have gotten rid of a long time ago. I
should have put her in place the second I became alpha. I should have told my father that I did
not want her around, at least not my parameter. But I did not. I respected the fact that things
were different between us, that she was a friend, that she grew up as one.
Let’s hold it. I know they’re not pushing her away was going too cost and a lot.
I had spent years molding my reputation into one of strength and power, and in one single
moment, it had cracked.
Now, I had to contain the damage.
I had to fix what she had created with her reckless behavior. And I was going to need to do it
fast.
Stepping into my office, I barely had time to process my own thoughts before the door swung

open again. My father.

The one person who would rather die than admit that her presence amongst us was wrong. The one person who would be more than willing to defend her, even if it meant standing against his own son to be doing so.
He stood tall, his sharp features hardened in disappointment as he shut the door behind him. His presence alone filled the room with an unspoken authority that had never quite settled
well with me. He was not even the Alpha and yet, he believed that he can just barge into the office the way that he did, stand thinking that he had the authority to do so, and expect those
around to submit.
“Interesting approach,” he said, his voice calm but laced with underlying disapproval. “ Threatening the mother of your child. To have the nurses take the child by force.”
I scoffed, running a hand through my hair. “I did what was necessary. The child needs to be
taken care of and she is not going to be able to do so. I believe that you can understand that
very well by just looking at her.”
Kael crossed his arms, his piercing gaze settling on me. “Necessary for whom? You? Or the
child you’re so conveniently claiming now? I genuinely am curious about what changed right
now.”
I bristled at his tone. “She wants to leave.”
“She should leave,” he corrected. “But you made sure that wasn’t an option, didn’t you? You
made sure that she cannot leave. It’s not like you want her around anyway. What changed?”
I clenched my fists, my patience wearing thin. “Isla is my daughter. My blood. She belongs
here. She belongs by my side within the pack, whether or not she likes it. However, the Omega
is more than welcome to leave.”
“Then start acting like it,” he said coldly. “You want to parade around like the Alpha you were
born to be? Then stop treating this situation like a f*****g inconvenience. That girl nearly died
carrying your child. And instead of taking responsibility, you’re too busy ensuring your image
stays intact. The Omega has a name, and if there is anything that had happened, it was your
fault too. It is not like this happened simply because of her.”
T
I gritted my teeth. “You think I don’t know that?”
“No,” he said simply. “I don’t think you do. At this point I don’t even think that you’re doing, nor do you understand how big or small it is.’
His words were a low blow, but I refused to let them get to me.

“Lysandra is gone,” he continued, watching me closely. “She sent her father’s men to collect the last of her things this morning. You let her walk away without a fight. Why?”
I hesitated for a second, my mind flashing back to the night before, to the way she had looked at me with something close to disgust.
“She made her choice,” I said. “And I made mine. I was not going to fight her for it.”
Kael studied me for a long moment before shaking his head. “You don’t even know what your choices are anymore. Because as far as I’m concerned, you also sent your men to bring her back here.”
“Your spies work well, don’t they?” I narrowed my eyes. “I know exactly what I’m doing. And I don’t need you to boss me around or father me as if I am some kind of teenager.”
He let out a humorless laugh. And I knew that he was angry. Of course he would be. He was into getting things going his way.
“Do you?” His gaze darkened. “Because from where I’m standing, it looks like you’re unraveling. You want to punish Sienna for something you were just as responsible for. You think keeping her here will solve everything, but you haven’t even figured out what the f**k you’re going to do with her.”
I said nothing. Because I hated that he was right.
The silence between us stretched before he spoke again, his tone firm.
“You already told her she’s not taking the child anywhere. So, what’s next, Damon? What next are you planning to do?”
I inhaled sharply, forcing my thoughts into something solid. “She’ll stay.”
“And if she refuses?” He asked, shaking his head in question.
I looked him dead in the eye. “Then she stays against her will.”
Kael exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. “You’re making a mistake. Trust me, it is one
that you are going to end up regretting.”
I shrugged. “Maybe. But it’s mine to make.”
A knock on the door interrupted us. One of the guards stepped in, his posture rigid. “Alpha, the
nurses are ready to take the child to the incubator.”
I gave a slow nod before my gaze flickered back to my father. “I have things to handle.”
Kael’s lips pressed into a thin line. “Don’t come to me when this blows up in your face.

Because trust me when I say you are going to not only need my guidance, but also advice from your father. Well, you seem to be forgetting is that you may be alpha, but it is because I chose to step from that position, not because I needed to, not because I was weak enough to do so. You know for a fact that I’m stronger than you are, smarter and more capable.”
I glared at him, but he did not stop.
“If I gave you the position for you to get to experience while I stand by your side, it does not make me weaker than you are. That is something that you need to understand.” He turned on his heel and walked out, leaving me with a cold, empty silence that felt heavier than before.
I let out a slow breath, running a hand down my face. Then I straightened, my mind set.
This wasn’t about what I wanted anymore.
Sienna had two choices, stay and do things my way.
Or leave without her child.
Either way, I wouldn’t be losing my daughter.
Either way, I was going to be sure to prove to everyone that this was my pack and things were going to go by my rules from now on.
