Chapter 27
Seeing such a Stan, Tabitha couldn’t be happy. This wasn’t the Stan she loved; the one she loved was already dead.

Stan didn’t know what Tabitha was thinking, snapping, “You actually still try to deceive me! Bitch! I won’t let you have it casy!”
Tabitha could only cry.
‘I had my reasons, too. How could Stan curse me? Calling me a bitch is just so insulting!
‘So what if I’m with Harrison? I still love him in my heart. Isn’t that enough?

‘He had half of my life and the most beautiful love, but what about Harrison? He only has these three years of memories.
‘If Stan really loved me, why would he care about this?‘ Tabitha felt that her love was over.
She thought she should give Stan back to Geneva. ‘We were sisters after all. How could we turn against each other for a man?
‘Giving Stan back to Geneva would make her happy, and I don’t mind enduring a bit of hardship for this!
Geneva was always curious: If Stan was just an ordinary greasy old man from the start, would Tabitha still fall for him when she came back from abroad?
This could never be known now. So she assumed–what if Stan became a greasy old man now?
This assumption came true. And Tabitha, who claimed not to care about his background or looks but only his soul, could finally relax and liked his soul without worries.
But this pure love seemed to collapse along with his looks…
Actually, Geneva didn’t do much; she just used a little privilege to make sure this ex–husband ate well, but did little work in prison.
Stan eating himself into such a bloated state surprised even her.
While Tabitha hesitated about how to confront Stan, he didn’t give her the chance because he thought Harrison cuckolded him and focused on dealing with Harrison instead.
The two men started a phase of mutual confrontation, fighting whenever they met and tripping each other up when they didn’t.
Two men fighting over her made Tabitha both happy and troubled before as she didn’t want to hurt either one.
But now, with one being a crippled psycho and the other an obese greasy guy, she wasn’t happy at all.
She could only call out despairingly, “Stop hurting yourselves for me.”
But no one listened to her.
Tabitha shouted again, “You’re both important men in my life; I don’t want to hurt either of you. To stop you from hurting each other, I’ve decided not to be with anyone.”
Still no response from them.
Now, they were fighting not for Tabitha, but for their pride and dignity.
Both were seriously risking their lives, but Tabitha still thought they were fighting over her, crying all day.

Chapter 27
In their fight, Stan exposed Harrison taking bribes, making people who weren’t mentally ill become so.
Harrison, in turn, exposed Stan kidnapping someone’s son and forcing their daughter to death for business purposes.
This blew up online, shocking netizens‘ values and demanding police arrest both for a thorough investigation.
So, both men got arrested.
Upon investigation, police found their wrongdoings far exceeded these.
For Tabitha, they disregarded even the law and the government, practically turning the world upside down.
With such an anti–social father, no wonder the kid was so vicious even at five.
With solid evidence, could the police let them go? Absolutely not.
So, Stan was out for only a few days before being locked up again.
Same for Harrison.
After Harrison and Stan went to jail, Tabitha felt relieved. Now, she didn’t have to agonize over which one to let down.
Tabitha returned to the Motley family, but her parents now had mixed feelings about her.
When Tabitha was with Harrison, she often called her mother to cry and complain about her grievances. Salena then persuaded her to leave Harrison.
But Tabitha just wouldn’t go back home. She felt wronged being with Harrison, but still wouldn’t leave, like she had some kind of Stockholm syndrome.
Salena was totally drained emotionally.
Tabitha was finally coming back now, but after all that happened, their love for Tabitha just couldn’t be the same as before, especially since she was bringing along a kid who was under tight surveillance by the government.
Back in the day, the kid was smart and the only grandson of the Wheeler family. They thought he had unlimited potential.
But now, they didn’t even know who the kid’s real dad was, and on top of that, he was under government surveillance. If they kept him at the Motley family, the Motley family would be under surveillance too.
What Rocky wanted most at the moment was to marry Tabitha off, thereby securing the greatest possible benefit for the Motley family.
To get Tabitha married off, they first needed to send Barclay away.
After Rocky confirmed from Tabitha multiple times that Barclay was Stan’s child, he told her to quickly send Barclay back to the Wheeler family.
At first, Tabitha wasn’t willing either, but after a few harsh words from her dad, she agreed.
When she was sending Barclay back to the Wheeler family, she cried and said to him, “Barclay, don’t blame Mom. I have no choice…”
Barclay’s expression was numb; he didn’t pat Tabitha’s back like he usually did to comfort her.
He saw through it all now. His mom didn’t love anyone but herself.
When her own interests weren’t threatened, she could be a good daughter and mother.

But when her interests were hurt by her parents or son or true love, she’d throw everything away.

“Barclay, if I could, I’d go with you back to the Wheeler family. But your grandparents don’t like me. I don’t want you caught in the middle. Don’t worry; you’re the only heir in the Wheeler family now. They’ll take good care of you. When you grow up and inherit the Wheeler family business, we can be together again…”
‘Yeah, sending me back to the Wheeler family and planting a thorn in my heart so I know it’s because of the Wheelers that we’re separated.
Even if I grow up in the Wheeler family, my heart will still be with her. She’s got so many tricks up her sleeve, yet everyone is duped into thinking she’s innocent and kind. Hmph…‘ Barclay said inwardly.
“Mom, are you sending me back to the Wheeler family for me or for yourself?”
Facing Barclay’s penetrating gaze, Tabitha felt a bit guilty. “Of course it’s for you…”
“Is it? Hmph! I think it’s all for yourself.”
