Chapter 25
But now, no one envied her anymore; they all thought she was a disgraceful woman, hurling the nastiest words at her…..
Tabitha felt so wronged, thinking. My love with Stan was so beautiful. Why do these people have the nerve to talk about us like that?
And why don’t they think about my helplessness when they insult me? Did I want to run away from the wedding? Who’d willingly marry someone rumored to be so terrifying?
‘If I had known Stan was that great, why would I have fled? These people just love to judge without walking a mile in their shoes.
‘Later, Stan and I couldn’t help our feelings; we fell in love, had a kid, so being together was only natural, right?
Td already suffered so much outside; why can’t these people show some sympathy?
‘I never hurt Geneva; it was all God’s plan. How can they blame me?‘
Tabitha was so caught up in her own sorrow and aggrievance that she forgot about Barclay completely.
It wasn’t until a few days later that she realized Barclay had been taken away by those people and still hadn’t returned.
She went to ask them to let Barclay go. But her request was denied.
Tabitha felt even more wronged. ‘Barclay is just a little kid, never had his biological father by his side, already so pitiful. How can those people hold a grudge against a child?‘
She went to the Wheeler family for help.
But the Wheeler family now believed Barclay wasn’t Stan’s biological son, so why would they save an outsider?
And they couldn’t save him even if they wanted to; if they could, Stan wouldn’t be in jail now.
So, Tabitha then begged Harrison.
Harrison had no freaking solution, either. With Geneva still comatose and rumors swirling online that she’d become a vegetable, if he still couldn’t get it together at this point, then he’d really got some screws loose upstairs.
He had to admit that Geneva had now reached a level they could never afford to mess with.

Geneva woke up two months later. When the nurse taking care of her found out, she burst into tears.
Luckily, Geneva finally woke up, not only that, but her brain was also functioning normally.
Friends came to visit one after another, but they were all stopped outside by the doctor with the excuse that she needed
peace to recover.
Only when Geneva’s injuries were almost healed did the authorities announce that she had pulled through the life- threatening situation.
During these two months, Tabitha tried every trick in the book but couldn’t see Barclay. Upon learning that Geneva had woken up, she immediately came to find her.
Geneva felt her body was almost back to normal and wanted to be discharged, but the research institute kept refusing.

Bored out of her mind every day in the hospital, she chuckled when she heard Tabitha had come. “Let her in”

Once, Tabitha used her own happiness to highlight the original host’s misery. Despite the original host’s suffering being caused by her, she condescendingly showed so–called mercy.
Now, it was time for her to see for the original host just how Tabitha fared without the protection of Stan and Harrison.
Tabitha’s life hadn’t been great lately; she looked noticeably haggard and even worse off than Geneva, who had just recovered from a serious injury.
She forced a smile at Geneva. “Geneva, I’m so glad you’re okay.”
Geneva took a bite of an apple before glancing at her. “Seems your life’s been rough lately.”
Tabitha’s eyes instantly reddened when she heard this. “Geneva, I’ve really suffered a lot these days. Stan’s in jail. Barclay’s been taken away, and Harrison isn’t as nice to me as before.
“Mom and Dad don’t have time for me, and the Wheeler family can’t stand me anymore. My life is a total mess now…” She thought saying this would evoke Geneva’s sympathy.
To her shock, Geneva nodded, smiling. “Seeing you so miserable now, I’m relieved.”
Tabitha’s expression froze hard. “Geneva, how can you say that.”
“What’s wrong with what I said?” Geneva looked innocent.
Tabitha took a deep breath, trying to calm down. “Geneva, now that you’re fine, can you let Barclay go?”
Geneva raised an eyebrow. Meanwhile, Tabitha clutched her hem and said, “Barclay didn’t mean it, and after all, he’s your nephew, just a child. How can you hold a grudge against a kid?”
“Just a kid?” Geneva chuckled softly. “A five–year–old who could plan a kidnapping to kill me?”
Tabitha bit her lip. “Geneva, that’s all in the past. I thought you’d let it go by now, but I didn’t expect you to still be holding onto those petty things. You’re being way too petty.”
‘Petty things? The forced marriage, being robbed of her husband by her sister, being hypnotized to jump off a building by her sister’s backup, being kidnapped by her nephew–all these that the original host endured were just petty things to Tabitha?‘ Geneva thought.
“Tabitha, don’t you forget, I’m the victim here. Not holding a grudge is me being magnanimous; holding one is my right. What gives you the right to blame me?”
Geneva’s face was stern. “So what if he’s a kid? He still has to pay for his mistakes. Since you can’t teach him well, hand him over to the government.”
Tabitha was frantic. ‘I had already been so humble, so what more did Geneva want? Did she have to see me suffer?‘
“Geneva! You tripped on purpose, didn’t you? You’re jealous that Stan loves me, jealous that Barclay is Stan’s child, so you set Barclay up, right? How could you be so vicious?!” she roared.
At that moment, Conrad came to see Geneva and just reached the ward door when he overheard Tabitha’s words, anger making his head throb.
“Miss! Enough already? Have you ever seen someone joke with their own life?
“To be frank, what makes your son so special that my teacher would risk her life to frame him? You overestimate yourself,” he sneered. The more he learned about Geneva’s past life, the more he pitied her.

“You should have expected this outcome when you raised your son like that. After all, he’s your son; others aren’t obligated to be lenient or tolerant. If not for Geneva’s luck this time, she might be a vegetable for life!”
Tabitha was always good at using her charms in front of men. She could be playful one moment and delicate the next, and men had always treated her politely.
Never had she been scolded by a man like this before. She felt wronged, complaining inwardly that Conrad wasn’t much of a man to speak to a woman like that.
“Barclay is just a kid; how strong can his push be?!” she retorted.
If it weren’t for the fact that Geneva had indeed lain unconscious in the hospital for months, anyone hearing Tabitha might think Barclay was being wronged.
Conrad chuckled. “Go ahead and say that to the investigation team!”
The investigation team had already found out that this wasn’t the first time Barclay had harmed Geneva.
