As Lucian prepared to read the charges aloud, a voice shattered the silence.

Alpha Emery.

He dropped to one knee, pulling out an ancestral fang pendant I once saw at the altar.

“Omega Caroline,” he said, voice trembling, “I am willing to give up my position as Alpha. Just give me one more chance.”

A wave of gasps rippled through the room.

I said nothing, only watched him.

“I love you,” he continued. “I’ve made terrible mistakes, but my life, my title… I’ll give them all to you.”

Before Lucian could respond, mocking Naughter rang out.

Beta Derrick emerged from the shadows, holding a glowing crystal recorder.

“Save your breath,” he sneered, activating the device.

Two familiar voices echoed through the chamber.

“We burn her, and no one will stop us.”

“Once she’s gone, I’ll be the mother. You’ll be the new Alpha.”

Alpha Emery’s voice–undeniable, filled with lust and cold calculation.

And Beta Sasha: “You promised… you’d marry me, right?”

Silence crushed the room.

Beta Sasha staggered forward, face pale, hand over her mouth.

“You lied to me… You said once she was dead, you’d choose me!”

“And now you’re here–proposing to her?”

She slapped Alpha Emery hard. “You used me?!” 

He didn’t respond. He only looked at me.

“The judgment need not continue,” Lucian said coldly. “The evidence speaks for itself.”

“Alpha Emery of Firefang, your status is revoked. You stand accused of attempted murder and conspiracy.”

Silver–armored warriors burst in. Leading them was a tall, silver–haired man with eyes like frost.

“Alpha Kaiden, Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack,” he announced, tossing a scroll at Lucian’s feet.

“Here is proof Alpha Emery traded with black market smugglers to acquire sedatives. The target–Firefang’s elder council.”

Lucian unrolled the scroll, expression darkening.

“Poisoning the council…?” 

Alpha Kaiden stepped forward, shielding me

with his body.

“I’ve come to protect what’s mine.”

I blinked, stunned.

He didn’t look at me. He stood firm, like a wall.

Alpha Emery, now chained, suddenly howled and broke free. 

Before anyone could stop him, he lunged- straight at me.

Everything blurred.

Lucian and Alpha Kaiden moved too late. Alpha Emery’s lips crashed into mine- then sharp, searing pain exploded on my collarbone.

A twisted mark bloomed on my skin, purple and cursed, burning through my veins.

“You’ll carry my mark forever,” he growled.

I stumbled back. Alpha Kaiden caught me instantly.

“Restrain him!” Lucian thundered. “Seal the court–activate the lunar array!”

Guards swarmed. It took five to hold Alpha Emery down.

Even as he was dragged away, he screamed, “She’s mine! Omega Caroline is mine!”

I clutched my collarbone, blood seeping through my robe.

Alpha Kaiden’s voice was low. “Are you hurt?”

I nodded, swallowing a cry.

Lucian came closer, inspecting the mark. His fingers brushed it gently, his brows furrowed.

“It’s not just a bite,” he murmured. “He cursed you. He didn’t want to claim you–he wanted

I shuddered. “Then return the curse.”

Lucian’s eyes met mine–and he nodded.

“I’ll personally oversee his trial.”

Alpha Kaiden didn’t let go of my hand.

He glanced at me and, in an

uncharacteristically soft tone, asked, “If you want… I’ll stay.”

I looked at the blood moon above. My voice was firm.

“Wait until the trial is over,”

“When I’ve finished… with everything.”

He said nothing more, only held my fingers tighter.
