“Stop!”
I cut off her speech: “If you just want to tell me this meaningless drivel, I don’t want to hear
it.”
“Sophia, everyone has their own little schemes, but yours are displayed so blatantly that I find it repulsive.”
“You wear that bracelet every day, using it as an accessory with every outfit. You just want to constantly remind everyone around you that you’re special to Ethan Pierce, that you’re
different from others.”
“Your social media posts about your daily work with him are meant to show off how close you are to him and that you enjoy privileges others don’t.”
“You know your presence at certain occasions is inappropriate, yet you still refuse to leave tactfully because you’re testing how deep his feelings for you have become.”
“If you didn’t have these intentions, you wouldn’t be boasting to your so–called good friends in the company break room about your tips for ‘conquering the boss.“”
Sophia’s expression changed: “How do you know all this?”
I sighed: “Because I’m still the CEO’s wife, and people are more willing to tell me what they hear rather than keep secrets for you.”
“So what? You’re still going to divorce Mr. Pierce.”
“Has he signed the divorce papers?”
A look of determination flashed in Sophia’s eyes: “That doesn’t matter. He’ll sign eventually,”

“Can you guarantee that after I divorce him, you’ll definitely secure your position? What
can you offer him? Do you have the strong family background to form a power alliance? Do you have extensive connections to help him expand his market? Do you have powerful backing to help him network?”
“But I resemble his dead first love. I can help him recapture those beautiful memories.”
I couldn’t help but laugh: “So you’re just a substitute. You know you’re actually a
counterfeit that he might lose interest in at any time, don’t you?”
“If Ethan can protect you, then let him protect you.”
“I’m no saint. I hold grudges, and I can’t wait ten years for revenge. Usually, my payback
doesn’t take long.”
She looked wary: “What are you planning to do? If you dare lay a hand on me, Mr. Pierce
won’t let you get away with it.”
“Don’t worry,
I’ve just had people spread your story around, making sure your reputation is
thoroughly destroyed in this industry.”
“I believe your Mr. Pierce will soon feel the pressure and either transfer you out of the
assistant department, casually assign you to some idle position to keep you on payroll, or
simply be ruthless enough to fire you outright.”
“After all, as you said yourself, you’re just a fake. If you were really his first love, I might
not stand much of a chance. But you’re just a substitute he uses to reminisce about the past.
Do you think a counterfeit holds much weight in his heart?”
With that, I turned and left, leaving Sophia crouched at the company entrance, sobbing
uncontrollably.
I never expected Mia to go to such lengths, digging up Sophia’s dirt from as far back as high
school.
She had dropped out of high school due to pregnancy, and after an abortion, she started
working in nightclubs.
She met a university professor at a club and became his mistress in exchange for a college

manager, successfully securing an internal interview slot at the company. Thanks to her
resemblance to Ethan’s first love, she successfully entered the company as his appraiser.
With such a colorful background, Mia couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help her best
friend get revenge.
Within a week, Sophia’s history was spread far and wide by Mia and her husband. Almost
everyone knew that the Pierce heir had injured his wife for a “damaged goods” and was
forcing his wife to divorce him.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierce couldn’t sit still any longer, especially after learning about my pregnancy. They summoned Ethan back to the family mansion for a thorough disciplining.
