Chapter 140
Rachel’s POV
Despite our mutual desire, Nathan respected my wish to take things slowly, controlling his Alpha impulses.
“I’m sorry… I know I should give you time and space. But my heart couldn’t resist seeing you.” His voice was deep with yearning.
“Would you like to see what changes I’ve made to this home?” My eyes shimmered with anticipation.
“I’m sure everything you’ve done has made this place perfect.” His gaze swept over me tenderly before settling on my rounded belly, where his heir grew.
The air between us vibrated with our mingled scents, filled with suppressed desire and profound longing for each other.
“This is our child’s room,” I said softly, my voice warm with maternal tenderness as I led him to the nursery.
“It looks perfect!” His Alpha scent intensified with emotion.
Nathan noticed the blanket I’d hand–crafted with the Ironjaw Pack symbol embroidered on it.
“You made this yourself, didn’t you?” He gently touched the intricate embroidery, surprise and admiration in his eyes.
“I wanted our child to have something from their mother, carrying my scent,” I admitted shyly.
“He or she will be the luckiest pup in the world to have you as a mother,” his tone filled with deep love and respect.
“He or she?” I looked up at Nathan questioningly.
“Boy or girl doesn’t matter. Only that it’s our bloodline, a strong Alpha heir.” His hand gently caressed my belly, feeling the powerful life force within.
“Would you like to see the master bedroom?” My eyes glinted with invitation, my scent growing sweeter.
As Nathan’s gaze met mine, his eyes smoldered with desire. My heart raced with anticipation.
The air in the room was thick with the weight of our unspoken desires, our scents intertwining like a da… of longing and
restraint.
Nathan’s eyes, dark with hunger, locked onto mine, and I felt my heart race, a sweet ache blooming deep within me.
I couldn’t resist any longer. My body moved before my mind could catch up, and I rose onto my toes, closing the distance
between us.
My lips found his, soft at first, then desperate, a kiss, that poured out all the yearning I’d held back for so long.
Nathan groaned into my mouth, his hands instinctively finding my waist, pulling me closer, though his touch remained careful, mindful of my swollen belly.
Rachel,” he murmured against my lips, his voice rough with need, but laced with restraint. “We shouldn’t…”

But I didn’t want to hear it. My fingers trembled as they reached for the buttons of his shirt, fumbling in my urgency to feel his skin against mine. One by one, the buttons gave way, revealing the hard planes of his chest, the warmth of his body calling to me.
His breath hitched, his eyes darkening as he watched me, torn between desire and his protective instincts.
I took his hands in mine, guiding them to the hem of my dress. Nathan,” I whispered, my voice trembling with vulnerability and want. “Please.”
His fingers hesitated, then followed my lead, helping me lift the fabric over my head. The cool air kissed my skin as the dress fell away, leaving me bare before him, my breasts full and heavy, my nipples already taut with anticipation.
His gaze roamed over me, reverent, hungry, and I felt a flush of warmth spread through me, my body responding to the intensity of his stare.
“God, Rachel,” he breathed, his voice thick with awe. “You’re so beautiful.”
But as his hands hovered near my skin, his expression shifted, a flicker of concern cutting through the haze of desire. “Baby you’re pregnant,” he said softly, his tone laced with worry. “I don’t want to hurt you. I can’t risk it.” He lifted his hand and gently caressed my face.
