The Alpha’s Purchased Slave

Chapter 121

I watched as she gracefully glided to the garden swing. Moonlight cast an angelic halo around her. As she sang, the moonlight seemed to grow brighter around her

Then I heard her sing the song she often sang in Ironjaw territorymy favorite. She used to sing it for me

Is she thinking of me? Is that why she’s singing this song? I wondered

Closing my eyes, I imagined her petite figure perched on the white marble piano bench, her soft copper hair falling over her shoulders, delicate fingers dancing across the keys

As her sweet voice floated through the air, time seemed to stand still. It was as if the Moon Goddess herself were singing, and the whole world rejoiced in her presence

Despite wanting to lose myself in this moment, guilt spiraled me back to reality

I failed Rachel before, the realization churned in my chest. Thinking of her drowning in pain and desperation, barely able to breathe because of what I did to her…

My betrayal nearly killed her and our child

I’ll do whatever it takes to make up for the pain I caused her, I vowed silently. I’ll do everything in my power to reconcile with Rachel, to prove I’m not the man she believes me to be

As if I’d lost all my senses, I surveyed the area where Rachel rested. My eyes widened as I realized she was alone, completely unguarded

Where are her guards?I asked Tyler through our mind link

One at the front door to the north. Two more patrol the perimeter every forty minutes. They should rotate in about

fifteen minutes.”

I stood frozen, glancing at the watch on my wrist

I had fifteen minutes to wait before I could make my move. I told myself I shouldn’t approach her yet. I should wait, ensure I wouldn’t frighten her

But seeing her now, I couldn’t control myself. The impulse to hold her in my arms and never let go overrode all rational. thought. The memory of losing her had tormented me constantly, and now that she was before me again, I had to seize

this chance..

I just want five minutes, I thought. Five minutes to ask why she left. To tell her I’m sorry

As a guard’s silhouette rounded the back of the cottage, I pressed myself deeper into the shadows, becoming surroundings

with my

I never imagined I’d be lurking in darkness to meet a woman, yet here I was, waiting for the perfect moment to approach

Rachel without alerting her guards

The guard disappeared around the building. I exhaled in relief- hadn’t been discovered

Chapter 121

I left my secure position and moved slowly toward the garden

Rachel sat relaxed on the swing, a smile gracing her lips. Her gaze never met mine

I couldn’t believe someone could approach her so easily. She was completely unaware of my presence

Though I wanted to be angry that she was so vulnerable, I knew I had no right

My thoughts no longer centered on her death. Now, my mind was filled with questions about how she was still alive and why she had left me

RachelHer name felt both familiar and foreign on my lips, but speaking it somehow comforted me

She turned to face meher eyes widened with shock, traces of fear evident

Instinctively, her fingers protectively encircled her swollen belly, shielding it from my view. She looked terrified, instinctively stepping backward

I reached out to touch her but pulled back

I’m not here to hurt you,I said softly

To prove my sincerity, I slowly raised my hands, maintaining my distance

The last thing I wanted was to frighten her, but the closer I got to her, the more overwhelmed I felt

As my child grew within her, their scents had melded together over time. That intoxicating fragrance nearly drove me mad

She took several deep breaths. Her expression shifted from shock to sadnessThen to indifference

My heart sank

I’m sorry, but you have the wrong person.”
