Chapter 392 Walking
Anton’s p.o.v.
1 gesture to the others to remain silent, I want to hear the answer and I want to know who they are asking the question.
“Micheal and I have been marked and mated for over five years, I am ready to take over this Pack from his parents and it isn’t difficult to make Micheal think that his Father is unwilling to step down because he doesn’t trust Micheal. Alpha Bane made it clear, when Micheal and I found the connection, that he would step down when the entire leadership had been marked and mated for at least a year.” A female responds and I know it is the future Luna.
“Harper refuses to visit other Packs to find her connection and the Elders can send a mandatory invitation for the Mate meeting. I want to take over this Pack and make sure that Micheal sends everyone away that isn’t a Wolf or Lycan. Harper was the first hurdle and now I can concentrate on our Feline Gamma.” She continues.
“Alayah, get the Alpha to the living room.” I say through the mind–link and I wait until I hear her rushing into the living room, followed by Alpha Bane, his Son and her Mates.
As we step into the living room, everyone can hear the recording Bastian made and Alpha Bane isn’t amused. Our Elite Warriors had followed us in and grab the female when she tries to make a run for it. “Micheal, lead them to the dungeons. I will call the Elders to see what we can do about that bond.” Alpha Bane says before he turns to us. “Thank you from saving this Pack from disaster.”
We wait until Micheal gets back with our Warriors, we will be heading out shortly and I know that Bastian can’t wait to get Janina home. To make the Mate–bond form between them and to start a family of their own, “Micheal, how many Pups do you have?” I ask him and I am surprised when he shakes his head.
They have been marked and mated for over five years and still no Pups, that can only mean one of two. things. Either one of them can’t conceive or one of them is preventing it and my money is on the wannabe Luna. Not that I am going to tell Micheal that, he can figure that out for himself. “Alpha, might I suggest that you have a Pack meeting.
Tell them what you discovered and ask them to come to you if she mistreated them in anyway. I seriously doubt that this was a one time incident.” Alayah says and I know Alpha Bane will take her advice.
Within the hour we are in our SUVs and I can’t wait to get home. Grandma will make Janina feel right at home and I hope Janina will show us her Leopard, because I have never seen another shifter in my life. Well, not counting the little Bear I met just a little while ago.
I am looking out the window, while Bastian tells Janina about his childhood and how his first Mate treated him. It is definitely a good thing that Bree no longer lives in our Pack or Janina would have kicked her ass, in Leopard form I might add. “Alpha, the Beta family moved to White Mountain Pack. We couldn’t out what happened, because no one seems to be sure about the reason.” One of our Elite Warriors s I know we will be making a detour,/before going home.
After a few hours we pull up to a Hotel, just outside a Pack’s territory, to spend the night. We have the use of the entire top floor and the manager doesn’t blink when Alayah asks him to have dinner brought up for all of us, “Dinner will arrive in about an hour. Take that time to freshen up and get a change of clothes.” Noah says before they disappear into their room.
The top floor reminds me of a floor in a Pack–house, the only thing missing is a kitchen. A living room to the left when you enter and to the right is an office, the rest of the rooms on this floor are bedrooms. I

doubt this floor gets used on a regular basis or they have high standards to maintain, because everything looks brand–new.
I take a shower before I get dressed again and in the meantime I think about my future. A future I hope to find soon, Bastian no longer has to fear power hungry females and even though I want what he has, I am happy for him and Janina.
The dining room on the floor is next to the office and it is a good thing that it is a huge room or we wouldn’t have been able to have dinner together.
“What will happen to Charlie’s Brother?” Janina asks as the conversations die down a little. The entire room goes quiet at her question. “Charlie never hid his past from any of us, he actually used it during our classes on the Mate–bond as an example. I am not sure how much they told you, but I will tell you what Charlie would tell us in class.”
“Steffy lost her Mother just after she turned eighteen, her Father had never been in her life. He had rejected her after she told him that she was a Mountain Lion, but unlike most of us she didn’t know about Crystal Blood Pack and raised Steffy by herself in the mountains. Steffy didn’t know what to do and started to wander through the mountains, further and further away from her home.
Charlie found her one morning and his Wolf told him there was a connection. He waited until Steffy woke up, but she ran when she realized he was a Wolf. He caught up with her and told her he wasn’t going to reject her, that he knew she wasn’t a Wolf or a Lycan. It took a few days for Steffy to recover from weeks of little water and food.
Charlie didn’t leave her side during this time, but they decided not to tell anyone what Steffy was. When he finally took her home to introduce her to his family, the problems started. The first problem was his Brother Mike, he didn’t like that his baby Brother found a Mate first and after he tried to forcefully mark her Charlie and Steffy ran.” Janina says and everyone heard her say that Mike was just the first problem.
“Can you tell us what the second problem was?” Bastian asks his Mare and we give her a few minutes to make up her mind.
“It didn’t take his parents long to find out that she wasn’t a Wolf, not that they discovered it themselves or that Charlie and Steffy told them. No, it turned out that Charlie’s Pack happened to be the Pack Steffi’s Father lived in. I doubt she ever told Charlie about it or that he ever witnessed it, but his parents made it clear that they would not accept her as their Daughter in law, every chance they got.
Even her Father kept telling her she wasn’t good enough for a Wolf and even her Half–sister would make it clear to her, not just with words I might add.” Janina says and I know Bastian will make sure this gets into the Pack’s files in our Archive.
“Alayah, I want our next case to be Charlie’s birth Pack. If this story is an indication, I am afraid we will find a lot of things wrong with that Pack.” I say as I try to calm Merric down. Everyone in this room hates injustice, but Merric is a bit more agitated than most of them. Not that we have been able to find out why and Alayah still finds it fascinating to see his reaction to stories like this.
Grandpa keeps telling me that it is a family trade, no male in our family can stand injustice and our Lycans are even worse. Looking at Bastian and his Brothers I think Grandpa might be right, they seem to have a very agitated Lycan as well and the only one that is a little calmer is Bastian.
I listen to Alayah as she calls home to inform the others of what we learned and to hand out orders to be handled before we return. Sometintes it still strikes me as odd to see Alayah in her role as an Alpha, but it is what she was meant to be and she is doing an amazing job. She still hates ending a life, but she knows it is needed to set an example.

Just before midnight we all turn in for the night, we want to get an early start tomorrow and I know that Alayah is missing the twins. Even I am missing them, they keep you on your toes now that they can crawl and we all fear what will happen once they start walking.
