I’d finally made up my mind to start over.
For years, my entire world had revolved around Dashiell–I never even considered my own career.
My dad had wanted me to take over his overseas corporation ages ago, but I couldn’t let go of Dashiell
Well, now I was free.
There was nothing holding me back anymore, and I could finally fight for my future.
But first, I needed to spend some time studying at a university abroad.
It didn’t take long before I got my acceptance letter.

That, apparently, was what led to their breakup.

And even after they tied the knot, I supposedly kept bothering Dashiell, trying to break up their marriage.
She even posted a twisted screenshot of our chat, where I messaged her from a burner account to set up a meeting–cutting out all the context.
Then she went on a rant about how entitled I was–like I was some psycho mistress from hell.
Anna had obviously spent real money pushing this to the top of the feed.
She played the emotional victim perfectly–crying on camera, baiting sympathy.
People hate mistresses.
And they really hate rich ones.
The backlash came fast and hard.
My inbox was flooded with hate messages–over a hundred, just in the first hour.
People telling me to die, that my company should go bankrupt–vile stuff.
Cassie squeezed my hand and whispered, “It’s okay. Let the PR team handle this.”
Honestly, they’d be on it whether I told them or not.
But I didn’t just want damage control.
If Anna wanted war, I’d give her one.
I left dinner early and headed straight home.
There, I pulled out the receipts–everything I’d saved from Dashiell’s computer.
Messages. Screenshots. Photos. Videos.
Even the texts where he said he didn’t want to get married or file for a license.
I dumped it all online.

Anna and Dashiell broke up for months before he and I got together.

People started demanding answers from Anna.
They asked if she knew Dashiell hadn’t even broken up with me when they got married.
She tried to keep playing the victim.
Said she had no idea.
But it didn’t take long for internet sleuths to find her burner account.
She’d posted plenty of shady stuff about me and Dashiell on there.
It was obvious she knew we were together.
Her last post from that account?
The day before she married him.
So yeah, she knew.
After that, she ditched the burner and started flooding her main with lovey–dovey posts.
I took advantage of the moment and posted a heartfelt essay.
I said I used to believe Anna was just another victim, fooled by Dashiell like I was.
So when I saw their marriage license, I walked away.
I wanted to preserve my dignity and let them be.

Meanwhile, Dashiell stayed silent through all of it–never defending either of us.

Word was, he spiraled after getting exposed and ended up fired.
I walked away untouched.
