I am surprised to see Dad’s SUV waiting for us outside the territory, but Alayah explained that she had asked them to join us and Alpha Gordon had no problem giving Dad the time of to join us on this journey. Alayah is leaning close to me as if she can sense that I need her to keep me and Miku calm, it gets a bit better the further away from Pack territory we get and for a while I think I can make it until Blood Stone Pack territory before I have to let Miku out for a run.
“Pull over, Noah.” I growl through gritted teeth, because it takes a lot from me to stay in control and I am glad that Noah knows me so damn well.
“Miku, you better wait until you are out of the SUV and away from your Mate.” Noah growls back and it helps enough to stay in control of Miku, but the moment I am out of the SUV he forces the shift. “I will explain later, just keep driving towards Blood Stone territory. We will be close by.” I tell them through our mind- link, but Noah surprises me by calling Grandma.
“Grandma, can you go with Alayah? We will keep an eye on Miku.” The moment Grandma nods her head the three of them strip down and a second later I am surrounded by my Brothers, we wait until the others are back on the road before Miku takes of running into the forest. We run parallel to the caravan of SUVs as I sit in the back of Miku’s mind, he needs to run to release the anger we feel towards Marc and I have trouble accepting that I didn’t know my friend.
None of my Brothers ask questions as our Lycans run, we suddenly see Alayah signaling for a right turn and I wonder where she is going. It doesn’t take long before we see an abandoned building come into sight and I think I understand why she pulled to a stop here, she probably senses that what I have to say will cause some of us to lose control to our Lycans. I watch Alayah walk to the trunk of the SUV and a minute later she shows up with some clothes.
She wraps her arms around Miku’s neck after she has placed my clothes on the ground and we both enjoy the arms of our Mate wrapped around Miku’s neck, “Why don’t you give control back to Nero? I would like to know what has the two of you so agitated that you needed to force a shift.” She whispers near his ear and he purrs as she runs a hand through his fur, he moves his head over her shoulder to push her closer to him by bowing his head down.
After he walked away from Alayah, very reluctantly I might add, he gives control back to me and I pull on the clothes she got for me, having Miku pacing in the back of my head when I walk back to the family. “I went looking for Marc after we had lunch and when I saw Crystal coming from up the stairs I guessed he was on the Alpha floor. I was about to knock on the door when I noticed it had been left ajar and I heard Alpha Randell talking to Marc.” I say.
I look at every Lycan around me, “What I am about to tell you isn’t easy for you to hear and I have tried to figure out if I might have misunderstood something, but I am afraid I never really knew my friend.” I say before I tell them what I heard Marc say to Alpha Randell and I start out with everything that concerns Alayah, because I need some time before I can tell Anton his childhood friend doubts his loyalty.
Mara is the first one to lose control and I watch in awe at how fast her Lycan takes control, I would have missed it if I had blinked my eyes. Dad’s Lycan forces a shift to calm down his Mate and Uncle Rex shifts into his Lycan to calm Grandma’s Lycan down, Grandfather, Uncle Paul and Anton are able to control their Lycans. “I haven’t told you the worse yet.” I say and I see four Lycans turn my way. “Marc told his Father that he didn’t know how to feel about Anton being from an Alpha bloodline and never telling him about it.
If I understood Grandfather correctly Anton found out at the same time the rest of us did and Marc fears that maybe one day his childhood friend might decide that he wants to be an Alpha.” I say and this time the entire Beta family shifts into their Lycans. Alayah is growling while Noah holds her in his arms and Nathan

+8 Pearls is whispering into her ear that it will be fine, that we will find a solution to this situation. It doesn’t really calm her down and I see Nikolay lean down to suck on her marking spot.
The most effective way for a Lycan to calm their Mate down and Nikolay isn’t afraid of what our parents might think to use her mark against her, he just wants to make sure that Topaz doesn’t force a shift. I grab my tablet from the SUV to see where the nearest place is we can spend the night and luckily it is only a half an hour drive from here, we have enough time to let everyone calm down. “Why don’t we let our Lycans out for a run? I think we can all use a run to get rid of some of our anger.” I suggest.
For the next hour we run through the forest around the abandoned building and when we return I see that Mara and Dad have already shifted back, waiting for all of us with some new clothes for the ones that forced a shift. The rest of the trip is spend in silence and we reach the motel in time for dinner, after which we all turn in for the night.
