Chapter 8
Harper watched the video, her fingers digging into her palm.
She struggled to get out of bed and left the hospital alone.
With six hours remaining until her departure, Harper visited Hsi Lai Temple to remove the wish slip she had written years ago: “I want to marry Finn and be his wife.”
In the cold temple wind, two wish slips Finn had written years ago blew into Harper’s hands.
She picked them up and glanced at them.
The first wish slip: “Marry Harper as my bride in five years.”
The second wish slip: “As long as you return, I will choose you no matter when.”
Harper looked at the wishes and laughed bitterly:
“Congratulations, Finn. You got exactly what you wanted.”
Soon, Harper returned to the mansion.
Her phone constantly vibrated with taunting messages from Serena.
Harper barely glanced at them. She sat at her desk, slowly writing a farewell letter, along with a photo of Phantom.
Then, she took her suitcase downstairs.
Harper placed the engagement ring Finn had given her at the hospital into a gray velvet box and handed it to the butler.
“When Finn returns, please give him this and tell him there’s a letter for him on the desk.”
The butler, seeing Harper removing her engagement ring, guessed what was happening and asked in shock:
“Mrs. Cooper, are you…?”
“Thank you for your care these past years, Mr. Brown. Perhaps we’ll meet again someday.”
Harper waved him off, pulled her suitcase out, and took an Uber to the airport.
An hour later, at the airport entrance, her best friend Mia reluctantly said goodbye.
“Harper, once you leave, don’t come back. You deserve better. Never speak to that jerk Finn again!”
Harper embraced Mia with red eyes, looking at the city of Riverside one last time before lifting her chin.
Goodbye, Riverside.

Chapter 8
Farewell forever, Finn.
Finn spent the entire next day in Serena’s hospital room.
Comforting her through examinations, coaxing her to take medicine.
Even though Harper’s room was just one floor below, he never once went to see her.,
In the evening, Serena insisted on being discharged.
Finn took her back to the mansion and patiently lulled her to sleep.
When he finally came downstairs, the butler handed him the gray box, hesitantly saying:
“Mrs. Cooper returned yesterday and asked me to give you this.”
Finn accepted the gray box, his expression darkening:
“She’s been discharged? I told her to stay in the hospital and rest. Why did she come home?”
“She’s probably throwing another tantrum. Didn’t I tell her Serena and I are just friends? I only see her as a sister…”
The gray box opened to reveal the engagement ring. Finn froze momentarily.
The butler quietly reminded him:
“Mrs. Cooper also left a letter for you in the second–floor study.”
Finn tugged at his tie, an inexplicable anxiety rising in him as he strode upstairs to the study.
On the desk was indeed a letter..
The words ‘Farewell Letter‘ struck Finn’s eyes, giving him a terrible premonition.
After reading every word, Finn’s mind exploded with panic.
It was over!
Harper had heard his conversation with Rebecca in the hospital…
With his carefully woven lies exposed, Finn frantically tried to call Harper, but noticed a photo on the desk.
A young woman in a red racing suit sat casually in a race car.
She removed her mask, gave a ‘Yay‘ with her right hand, and smiled freely at the camera.
Wait–Phantom’s face?
So… Harper was actually the one who saved his life on the track, the ‘Phantom‘ he had always wanted to repay?
Impossible!

Chapter 8
Finn’s hands trembled as he dialed Harper’s number.
The phone quickly announced: “The number you have dialed is out of service.”
Desperate, Finn messaged her on WhatsApp.
Harper’s account had also been deleted.
After exhausting every means to contact Harper, all his efforts proved futile,
Finn finally called Harper’s best friend Mia.
After being hung up on three times, the call finally connected.
On the other end, Mia sat in her living room watching TV.
Annoyed by the repeated calls, her tone was deeply unpleasant:
“Well, isn’t it the great Mr. Cooper? What can I do for you?”
Ignoring her sarcasm, Finn asked directly:
“Is Harper Phantom?”
“Ha!” Mia let out a cold laugh, mockingly:
“Finn Cooper, don’t tell me you only just realized Harper is Phantom?”
Finn frowned:
er
never told me.”
Mia nearly laughed with anger:
“For years, all your attention was on Serena. When did you ever truly care about Harper?”
