Chapter 7
Serena looked up in confusion, forgetting to continue her pitiful act.
Finn frowned, not understanding what Harper was trying to do.
“That’s my mother’s birthday gift to you. Only a Cooper daughter–in–law can wear it.”
Harper stood up and said coldly:
“It’s been touched by her. So dirty. I don’t want it anymore.”
With that, she turned away, ignoring the reactions of the two behind her, and limped outside.
Behind her, Finn stared at Harper’s cold back, his handsome face darkening.
Late that night, Finn finally returned.
After showering, he slipped into bed and looked at Harper with her back to him, sighing:
“Don’t be angry, and don’t keep targeting Serena. She really respects and likes you as her sister–in–law.”
“Serena said she wants to build a good relationship with you, so she’ll be staying with us for a few days. Please don’t bully her
anymore.”
Harper closed her eyes without replying, her tone even:
“If–and I’m just saying if–Serena isn’t ‘Phantom‘, would you still be so good to her?”
Finn gently massaged Harper’s head, his voice husky:
“She’s my sister. I’m good to her because she’s Serena, not because she’s ‘Phantom‘ or not.”
“Hmm.”
Harper responded faintly.
Just one more day, and she’d only need to stay here one more day!
Early the next morning, Harper woke to sweet laughter from the second floor.
She got up and walked out, seeing Finn teaching Serena flower arranging in the second–floor hall.
They stood close together, Finn gently showing Serena how to trim different flowers.
Watching this intimate scene, Harper felt a sense of unreality.
When Finn was disabled, worried he’d be bored, she had taught him flower arranging for a period.

Chapter 7
The man had an exceptional memory, learning everything after just one lesson.
Afterward, he had his assistant order flowers, and his first task each morning was to arrange a bouquet for her bedside.
But since Serena’s return, he seemed to have forgotten this habit…
Harper lowered her lashes, hiding the desolation in her eyes.
She walked downstairs, intending to have breakfast.
But after just a few steps, a heavy vase crashed down on her.
BANG!
Her skull instantly fractured, blood pouring from her head. The pain made her curl up on the floor.
In her blurry vision, she saw Serena leisurely descending from the second floor, a smile on her face:
“Oh my sister–in–law! I just wanted to show you the flowers I arranged, but my hand slipped and hit your head.”
“What should we do? You’re bleeding so much–it’s terrifying! Should I call an ambulance? But I’m too scared to pick up the phone. You won’t blame me, will you? Sister–in–law, just hang in there…”
Harper passed out before hearing the rest.
Later, it was a housekeeper who found her and rushed her to the hospital in panic.
When she regained consciousness, it was already noon.
Harper’s head had been stitched with thirty stitches, looking ghastly.
The doctor said she had a mild concussion with temporary blindness in her right eye.
Finn stood by the bed, bending down to ask if she was in pain, tenderly helping her sit up to drink water.
His actions showed care, but his words again favored Serena.
“Serena knows she made a mistake. She feels so guilty she nearly fainted.”
“A gossip reporter saw the housekeeper taking you to the hospital and is now waiting for you to make a public statement.”
“Harper, just tell everyone you accidentally fell and injured your head. That way the Smiths will owe you a favor. You know Serena is Phantom–she saved my life once…”
Harper turned away, pulling the covers over her head.
Whether from physical or emotional pain, Harper curled under the blanket with tears in her eyes.
She remembered when she was unwell before, occasionally running low fevers. Finn had hired three private doctors to
monitor her around the clock.
When she had menstrual cramps, Finn would comfort her all day, insisting she stay in bed for meals.

Now, the person before her was no longer the same man.
Finn noticed Harper quietly sobbing in bed. His heart ached, and just as he was about to comfort her, a nurse hurriedly
entered.
“Mr. Cooper, the young woman who came with you this morning suddenly cried until she fainted. Should you check on her?
Hearing Serena had cried herself unconscious, Finn forgot about Harper and rushed out.
Soon, the room fell silent again, with only Harper remaining
Ten minutes later, Harper’s phone vibrated with a message from “Serena Baby in Bliss“:
“You may have thirty stitches in your head and a blind eye, but so what? I don’t even need to cry, and he immediately runs to find me.”
“Harper, I disappeared for a few years, but once I returned and said I wanted to have his child, he agreed right away. How could he not love me?”
Soon after, Harper received a video from Serena.
Finn was comforting the softly crying Serena, his eyes red with concern:
“Don’t cry, baby. I promised I’d always protect you.”
“Harper just hurt her head. It’s not serious. She won’t tell anyone you injured her. You’re pregnant now and need to take care of yourself. Don’t worry about these little things.”
