Chapter 13
Fearing the ceiling wasn’t high enough, Finn had the bodyguards take Serena back to the mansion.
The box of vases was brought to the second floor, with Serena alone in the grand hall below.
The bodyguard picked up a vase and threw it down hard.
The vase quickly fell onto Serena’s head.
CRASH!
Heart–rending screams echoed throughout the mansion.
Serena’s scalp split open instantly, blood flooding the entire mansion.
The bodyguard remained expressionless, throwing down vase after vase.
Serena screamed until her voice grew hoarse, but Finn didn’t even give her a glance.
Finally, after ten vases crashed on Serena’s head, she completely lost consciousness. Finn unhurriedly looked up, his gaze
vicious:
“Take her back to the Smith family.”
No sooner had Serena been taken away than Rebecca arrived at the mansion.
Seeing Finn’s gloomy expression on the sofa, her face darkened:
“I have bad news. Brace yourself.”
“Harper probably won’t come back. I heard she’s getting married.”
“The woman named Harper that Ethan Carter is marrying is your ex–girlfriend Harper!”
Finn’s dark eyes turned cold as he shouted:
“Impossible!”
Seeing Finn’s disbelief, Rebecca showed him photos:
“The paparazzi caught this.”
In the photo, Ethan and Harper were having lunch together.
Ethan was tenderly using a napkin to gently wipe oil from Harper’s face.
“She’s over there? I’ll book a flight now.”

Chapter 13
Rebecca grabbed him forcefully, warning:
“Have you been so focused on finding Harper that you’ve neglected business matters? The Carters outbid us for the dock shipment. They’re clearly warning you.”
“Finn, think carefully. Are you sure you want to declare war on the Carters for Harper?”
Finn hung his head, his handsome face full of pain.
After a long moment, he said hoarsely:
“Becca, without her, I’ll go insane.”
Rebecca sighed, no longer trying to dissuade him.
Meanwhile, Harper began taking over the Mitchell family business.
In her first few days, Harper worked long hours, barely managing everything.
But being quick–witted, with Ethan’s guidance, she soon adapted.
Harper organized the Mitchell family’s business dealings over the years and quickly discovered the problem.
Several projects that had dragged down the Mitchell family were connected to Cooper subsidiaries.
As Harper analyzed each one, Ethan arrived at the office with a boxed lunch.
Seeing Harper’s pale face, Ethan frowned with concern:
“What’s wrong? You look terrible.”
Harper pointed to several contracts on the desk and spoke directly:
“I can’t understand why Finn’s uncles and relatives would want to harm our Mitchell family.”
Ethan picked up the contracts, examining each one, his expression tightening:
“The Cooper family loves internal strife. They probably thought you would marry Finn and decided to undermine the Mitchell
family.”
After a pause, he added:
“Logically, with the Mitchell family struggling these past years, Finn must have known but never paid attention to it.”
Harper laughed self–deprecatingly.
Finn’s attention had been entirely on Serena all these years.
Even when Serena went abroad, he punctually sent her money.
How could he spare any thought for the Mitchell family?
“But this proves my parents‘ decision wasn’t wrong.”

Chapter 13
For the entire afternoon, Ethan helped Harper analyze the Mitchell family’s investment data from recent years,
After thoroughly clarifying everything. Harper finally relaxed.
“Shall we take wedding photos tomorrow afternoon?” Ethan invited.
“How about the day after tomorrow? I have a meeting about a collaboration tomorrow.”
“Alright.”
These days, Harper found her interactions with Ethan surprisingly pleasant.
The man had exceptional emotional intelligence, making no effort to hide his interest in her.
This comfortable feeling was a thousand times better than her previous one–sided devotion to Finn.
Meanwhile, Finn arrived in Harper’s city.
As soon as he landed, he immediately had people investigate Harper’s current situation.
By evening, Finn’s face grew exceptionally dark as he reviewed the reports.
The investigation revealed that Harper and Ethan were living together.
They left home together in the morning and returned together at night, practically inseparable.
Firm read the report several times before angrily throwing it on the table.
Fortunately, it didn’t mention they had registered their marriage.
It made sense–it had only been a few days. Harper wouldn’t be that impulsive.
He still had a chance.
