Sunlight streamed into the room. illuminating the dusty corners with a golden glow.
Sophia went downstairs and immediately noticed a man sitting elegantly on the sofa, drinking tea.
“It’s you!” she exclaimed, surprised to see him there.
The man looked up as she appeared, a flash of joy crossing his face.
“Long time no see. What should I call you now? My niece in law? Or Miss Reed?”
Sophia laughed self–mockingly. “Troy Fuller, no wonder Ethan couldn’t find you. You’ve been hiding overseas all this time.”
Troy was technically Ethan’s uncle, though they were only two years apart.
As the Fuller family’s illegitimate son, Troy’s status wasn’t much different from Ethan’s as a stepson.
But Troy did have Fuller blood flowing in his veins, which had made him Ethan’s primary concern for years.
Sophia had always known that Ethan was investigating Troy’s whereabouts, but he never found any information.
Hearing Ethan’s name, Troy curled his lip disdainfully.
“How touching that my dear nephew misses me so much.”
“But he’s too stupid!”
Sophia lowered her eyes. The Fuller family affairs no longer concerned her, and she didn’t want to get involved in the feud between uncle and nephew.
“What do you want from me?” she asked.
Hearing her detached voice, Troy raised an eyebrow. “I have a business proposition for you.”
Sophia looked at him with surprise. “What kind of business could I do with you? If it’s related to the Fuller family, you’ve come to the wrong person.”
“It has nothing to do with the Fullers. I know you’ve been working on cultural heritage projects. I have an exhibition hall with a location and environment that perfectly suits your needs. Would you like to visit and see for yourself?”
Sophia stood frozen. She hadn’t expected Troy Fuller, halfway across the world, to know what she had been working on.
These were things even Ethan didn’t know about.
Sophia considered her options. She did need a space to display her collection.
“Miss Reed, are you afraid I might trick you?” Troy deliberately provoked her.
After thinking a moment, Sophia looked up at Troy.

Chapter 12
“Let’s go.”
She grabbed her coat and turned toward the entrance.
Behind her, Meredith gestured a number to Troy, who smiled and casually took out his phone making a few get to transfer a substantial sum to Meredith’s accord.
Troy brought Sophia to his exhibition hall.
The moment she stepped inside, she was captivated by the design.
Since arriving, she had looked at several venues, Init none matched what she was looking for. Each time, she had be disappointed.
She looked around the interior with delight. “What was this place used for before? Was it already an exhibiting hat?
If not, how could it so perfectly match her ideal vision?
Troy smiled. “Do you like it? If you do, I’ll rent it to you.”
“This location must command high rent. What’s your price?”
Seeing her get straight to the point, Troy instinctively sat up straighter, his face showing excitement.
“Set your own rent–I don’t need the money. But I do have one condition.”
Sophia stopped walking, the joy fading from her eyes. “What condition?”
“I have a project I must secure. The client and his wife are also Chinese and share your interests. I need your cooperation. In return, not only will I waive your rent, but I’ll also give you a substantial thank you gift. What do you say?”
Sophia frowned, not noticing that after saying this, Troy seemed unusually nervous, as if afraid she would refuse.
Just as Sophia was about to speak, he raised the stakes even higher.
Seeing the tempting conditions, Sophia genuinely hesitated.
“Just cooperation?”
“Just cooperation,” he confirmed.
Seeing Troy’s sincerity, Sophia finally nodded.
Troy’s clenched fist suddenly relaxed, and he seemed at a loss for a moment, struggling to suppress his smile.
“I’ll step outside to make a call. Feel free to check out the second floor.”
After Troy left, Sophia climbed the stairs to the second floor.
She looked around with satisfaction. Whether it was the decor or the existing displays, everything matched her preferred style , perfectly.

Chapter 12
The fit was so perfect as if it had been specially selected for her.
She was puzzled by this, but before she could think further, her attention was drawn to a figure outside the floor–to–ceiling windows.
Troy stood at the entrance, jumping with excitement, fists raised high as he grinned broadly, celebrating something unknown.
Sophia hadn’t expected to see this side of him, and she couldn’t help but smile at the sight.
The sunlight fell on her fair face, seeming to melt away layers of ice.
