Chapter 343 Twenty Questions
Alayah’s p.o.v.
Mom and Dad head downstairs for dinner with Alpha Gordon and we decide to stay on the Gamma floor, I want to get to know my Mates without anyone asking stupid questions. kolay start playing twenty questions with me and with every question that is being asked I find out that at least one of them is a bit reluctant to answer a question, the more personal questions that is. As I suspected none of them is a virgin. but they never slept with a female from Autumn Pack or Crimson Moon Pack.
Each of them have a different favorite food and I surprise them by telling them that all those foods are my favorites, “It depends on what kind of mood I am in that has me favor one food over the other, I am not a fan of spicy food and I will stay clear of it if I can.” I answer the food question. Noah’s question shocks me a little, “What is the first memory to pop into your head when you think of your childhood.” He asks and it is a memory I love and hate at the same time.
“Just after my parents marked one another Dad planted Mom a flowerbed in the backyard, he made a tiny slope to be able to plant similar height flowers behind one another. He used all her favorite colors; purple, red and pink. Every time someone brings up my childhood that is what pops into my mind, that and Mom lying near it as she just stares at it and she could do that hours on end.” I whisper as I finally realize it was her way of being close to her Mate.
“I’m sorry for asking that question, Angel.” Noah says as he pulls me onto his lap, but he has nothing to be sorry for. Nikolay tells me about watching his Mom preparing breakfast, while Nero remembers her scolding Noah for running down the stairs and Nathan and Noah share the same memory; the day that Nero was born. Nathan asks which trade in a Wolf or Lycan I hate the most and I don’t think it surprised them when I answered with dishonesty, it is the trade I hate the most but it is closely followed by being superficial.
They all agree with me on the superficial part, but it seems that Noah and Nero hate jealousy as much and according to them it is usually a combination of both. Nathan hates egotistical people as well and Nikolay hates impatience just as much. “You do realize that you have described the majority of high–ranking females that hope to get a high–ranking Mate or will do anything to trick a high–ranking male.” I say after they are finished answering the question.
“I believe we all described females like that.” Nero responds before he asks me to describe the vision I had of my Mate when I was growing up and for a moment I have to ask Topaz if I ever fantasized about finding my Mate and what I thought he would be like, but Topaz tells me that I never had any fantasies like that. “Sorry, but that is a question I don’t have an answer to. According to Topaz I never dreamt up a Mate.” I answer him and each of them looks at me with their eyes wide open.
None of them ever thought of what she should look like, but they all remember that they wanted a Mate like their Mother. A kind, caring female that was able to stand up for herself and who could provide for herself if it was needed. “I think we never cared about what our Mate would look like because it wouldn’t matter to us. I doubt a female has ever been rejected because she had blond hair instead of black hair.” Nikolay states.
Nikolay seems to be deep in thought about the question he wants to ask and Nathan is getting a bi impatient with him, “Why is it so difficult to ask a question?” Nathan mumbles. “Because I want to ask a question I don’t know the answer to where it concerns the three of you.” Nikolay answers and I actually like the fact that he is taking the time to come up with a question that will allow all of us to get to know the
others better.
“I have to ask this question with an explanation. For Alayah the question is simple, why did you chose accounting? For the rest of us, what would you have chosen as a profession if you were given a choice and ‘why?” Nikolay finally asks and I can tell that this is a difficult question for the others to answer. None of them were in Alpha Gordon’s office, so I allow them to come inside. “You can place it in the kitchen, we won’t be having dinner in the dining room.” I say as I step aside and I smile as I see the Omega that I met in the Luna office. Each of the Omegas glances into the living room before moving to the kitchen and once we have are backs turned to the Boys one of the Omegas asks where they are with their thoughts.
“We are playing twenty questions to get to know one another and Nikolay asked a rather difficult one, looks like they have to dig deep to find an answer. I wonder where they will surface again.” I say and they giggle as someone says, “Near the lake.” I get told about the lake near their northern border and that it is one of their favorite places to go, “Until certain females show up and then they run for the hills.”
