“She has the nerve! I heard Sarah’s brother died saving her; and this is how
she repays him!”
Sarah was a master at crafting a persona; she was incredibly popular, and
everyone defended her. In my past life, I’d devoted myself to my brothers,
balancing my studies with other subjects, helping anyone who needed it, even
regularly attending classes and signing attendance sheets for Sarah. I was always
busy.
I barely maintained my relationships with my brothers, let alone with these
classmates.
Facing their gossip, I acted like I didn’t hear a thing and hurried to my
elective class. In my previous life, I’d missed many classes because I was always
covering for Sarah; but this time, I was determined to focus on the courses I was
genuinely interested in.
