– So Is My Love
Chapter 3
Tightening her grip on Mukesh’s arm, Elowen smiled at Camelia:
“Mrs. Willibert, I’m super grateful for your blood donation: Without you, I’d still be dizzy right now.
Mukesh, honey, please ask your wife to come home with us, please?”
Mukesh lovingly tapped Elowen’s nose:
“For the sweetest pregnant woman in the world, anything you want.”
Already planning to return for her luggage, Camelia didn’t refuse Elowen’s “kindness.”
Inside the spacious black car.
As Elowen had clearly intended, Camelia quickly spotted a pair of lace panties with fresh stains wedged in the seat.
“Oh my God! How are these still in the car?
Mukesh, baby, didn’t you say you’d taken care of this?”
Elowen buried herself in Mukesh’s arms, playfully hitting his chest with mock embarrassment.
Mukesh chuckled, apologizing that it was all his fault, while subtly watching for Camelia’s reaction.
When he realized she wasn’t angry at all,
That same uneasiness he’d felt in the hospital room crept over him again.
“Camelia, you’ve been staring at your phone since you got in the car.”
His tone was harsh, almost jealous:
“Are you chatting with your cousin, or someone else I don’t know about?”
Having just booked her flight, Camelia turned off her screen:
“Just reading the news.”
Hearing this, the displeasure on Mukesh’s face only grew more obvious.
He grabbed her phone when she wasn’t looking.
He demanded to know her password.
“My birthday.”
Nine years of marriage.

Such a simple six–digit number, yet he kept entering it wrong until the phone locked itself.
They rode in silence until they reached their destination.
As soon as the car stopped, Mukesh rushed to help the nauseated Elowen to the master bedroom.
Then he asked the cook to prepare Elowen’s favorite foods.
Coming downstairs, he caught sight of Camelia’s lonely figure heading to the guest room.
After a moment’s thought, he told the cook:
“Make two more dishes that my wife usually eats. Set the table for three tonight.”
In the guest room.
Camelia opened her suitcase to find all her clothes had been cut to shreds.
Thankfully, the passport and documents she’d hidden deeper inside were untouched.
Just as she gathered her documents to leave, Elowen appeared in the doorway.
She held a black bottle, looking Camelia up and down with contempt:
“Camelia, I’m impressed by how much crap you can take.
You’ve become the laughingstock of high society thanks to me, yet you still cling to this house like a parasite.”
“Makes sense though. That old hag from your family died last month, didn’t she? Without your precious grandmother to back you up, you’ve got to hang onto Mukesh for dear life.”
At this point, Elowen suddenly remembered something amusing:
“Camelia, when you were crying and begging Mukesh to fly you to the hospital to see your grandmother one last time, do you know why he refused?
Because he promised to take me to watch the sunset by the ocean that day.
See this kissing photo on my phone wallpaper? That’s when we took it.”
Camelia snapped, knocking the phone from her hand and grabbing her by the throat.
Elowen dropped the bottle she was holding, and immediately Camelia smelled the sharp odor of gasoline.
In the struggle, the panicked Elowen ignited the gasoline on the floor.
Smoke filled the room as flames shot up around them.
Just out of the hospital, Camelia quickly lost strength from the smoke and collapsed.
Then she heard Mukesh’s voice:
“Camelia!”

Followed by the staff trying to stop him:
“Sir, it’s too dangerous! Wait for security to bring fire extinguishers-”
“Get out of my way! Camelia’s still in there!”
He ultimately rushed into the room despite the danger.
But what he didn’t expect was that Elowen was inside too.
“Mukesh, help-”
Before Elowen could finish, Mukesh grabbed her without hesitation and carried her out, not even glancing in Camelia’s
direction.
Half an hour later.
After comforting Elowen, Mukesh searched the entire mansion but couldn’t find Camelia anywhere.
At the airport that night.
After mailing a package, Camelia boarded a flight to England, coughing from the smoke inhalation.
Just before takeoff, she received a text from Mukesh:
[I don’t have time for your hide–and–seek games. Tomorrow at 10 AM, Elowen has a prenatal checkup. Come with us to get your lungs examined]
She didn’t reply. She removed the SIM card and turned off her phone.
Mukesh, from this day forward, we’ll never see each other again.
The next day, at the hospital.
“Mukesh, is our baby okay?”
Meeting Elowen’s pitiful gaze, Mukesh immediately embraced her, answering softly:
“The doctor says the baby is perfectly healthy. Yesterday’s incident didn’t affect it at all.”
“That’s such a relief. You’ve been so serious since we got here, not saying a word… I was worried something was wrong with
our little one.”
Elowen’s casual remark caused Mukesh to freeze momentarily.
In his mind, he couldn’t help but see Camelia’s cold eyes looking at him through the raging fire.
Frowning, he checked his inbox again.
He was irritated that she hadn’t replied with even a single word.

In the past, no matter how coldly he treated her, she always responded to his every demand.
Now… she’d learned to play hard to get.
With an internal sneer, Mukesh carefully escorted Elowen out of the obstetrics department, had lunch with her, took her safely home, and then went to the school.
As soon as he entered his office, his assistant told him the dean was summoning all Irianagement to an emergency meeting in
Conference Hall One.
Hearing this, Mukesh headed toward the meeting room while casually instructing his assistant:
“Buy me several designer bags and flowers. The latest styles.”
