Chapter 36
Rachel’s POV
Nathan slowly drew closer to me, his eyes locked with mine, and I could feel the warmth of his breath.
My heart raced in anticipation as the distance between us diminished bit by bit. With every inch he moved nearer, the tension in the air grew thicker.
Finally, he was so close that our lips met, and in that instant, time seemed to freeze outside the Luna Suite.
His strong hands gently cupped my face, and as our lips touched, the hallway around us melted away into nothingness.
I couldn’t process what was happening–why the Alpha of Ironjaw Pack was kissing me with such intensity after that disastrous dinner.
My wolf stirred inside me, recognizing something in him that my mind couldn’t comprehend.
His cold pine scent had transformed into something warmer, more intoxicating, wrapping around me like a physical embrace.
My heart pounded as I clung to Nathan, my fingers tightening on his suit jacket. His kiss deepened, a hungry edge to it that sent heat spiraling through me.
1 shouldn’t feel this way–not as a breeder, not toward my Alpha–but my body betrayed me, responding with a fervor that left me dizzy.
His tongue slipped past my lips, teasing and exploring, and a soft moan escaped me before I could stop it.
Nathan guided me backward, never breaking the kiss, until we crossed the threshold of the Luna Suite. Moonlight spilled through the half–open curtains, painting the room in silver and shadow.
My back brushed against the doorframe, and I arched into him, lost in the heat of his touch.
His strong fingers easily found the zipper of my wine–red dress, sliding it down with deliberate slowness that made my breath catch.
“Alpha…” I whispered, my voice trembling.
“Nathan,” he corrected. “Say my name,
Rachel.”
“Nathan,” I repeated, testing the forbidden intimacy of it on my tongue.
My fingers fumbled with the buttons of his suit jacket, my hands shaking with nervousness. He shrugged it off impatiently, letting it fall to the floor before returning his attention to me.
The dress slipped from my shoulders, pooling at my feet in a puddle of deep red silk, leaving me standing before him in nothing but ivory lace underwear.
Despite our previous encounters, this felt different. More intimate.
fought the urge tover myself, acutely aware of my copper hair cascading over my shoulders and the blush spreading across my
cheeks.
Nathan’s gray eyes flashed with dangerous gold as they raked over me. A deep, primal growl rumbled from his chest as he loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt.

When he removed it, I couldnt help but stare at his muscled chest and the long scar that ran from his heart to his shoulder.
“Nathan…” My voice was barely audible.
He closed the distance between us in two strides, his mouth claiming mine once more. His strong arms encircled my waist, lifting me effortlessly.
My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist as he carried me to the four–poster bed at the center of the Luna Suite.
The silk sheets were cool against my heated skin as he laid me down Nathan towered over me, his eyes now completely gold–his wolf fully present, watching me with unmasked desire.
“Rachel…” His voice was deep, raspy with need. “I want you.”
“Me too…” I whispered, unable to articulate more.
The way he said my name sent shivers down my spine. This wasn’t like our previous encounters–clinical and detached.
Tonight, there was something raw and primal in his actions as he tore away the delicate lace of my underwear with impatient hands
His touch ignited something within me I’d never experienced before I felt my wolf awakening, responding to his dominance, craving the connection with the Alpha above me.
My back arched as his mouth explored my body, leaving a trail of fire in its wake.
“Say my name,” he commanded, his voice thick with desire.
“Nathan,” I gasped, my fingers digging into his shoulders.
“What do you want, Rachel?” His eyes locked with mine.
“You… please, I can’t take it anymore…” The words escaped before I could censor them.
“Please what, Rachel?” His teasing was almost cruel.
“Please, Nathan…” I begged, beyond shame or pride.
Suddenly, he paused, his gold eyes intense as they searched my face. What were you thinking at dinner? Are you still looking for a
mate?”
The question caught me off guard, especially in our current position. But something in his tone demanded an immediate answer.
“No…” I whispered truthfully, confused by his question but certain of my answer.
Something changed in his expression–satisfaction, perhaps–before he claimed me completely. His mover more passionate than ever before, as though he was driven by something beyond physical need.
I felt the connection with my wolf grow stronger, responding to his every touch, every kiss.
Come for me, Rachel scream for me,” he growled against my neck
‘s were more forceful,
The intensity of my release brought tears to my eyes, my body trembling beneath his. Nathan followed shortly after, his powerful body tensing above mine.

When I opened my eyes, I found him staring at me with an expression I couldn’t decipher–desire mixed with confusion and something else I dared not name.
As we lay there catching our breath, I realized I no longer feared the Alpha of Ironjaw as I once had.
Instead, I was drawn to him in ways that went beyond my understanding–the gold in his eyes, his scent, the way he moved.
“Does it hurt?” he asked unexpectedly, his voice gentler than I’d ever heard it.
My cheeks flushed hot. “No.”
“Good.” A hint, of satisfaction colored his tone.
Nathan rose from the bed and walked to the bathroom. I heard water running, and moments later, he returned, lifting me into his arms without effort.
My hair fell over his arm as he carried me to the marble bathroom and lowered me into the warm water.
Nathan’s hands were surprisingly gentle as he washed my body, his touch causing me to gasp when he passed over particularly sensitive areas.
When he was satisfied with his work, he turned off the water and wrapped me in a soft towel.
Back in the bedroom, I crawled under the silk sheets, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle over me. Nathan stood beside the bed, his expression unreadable in the moonlight.
“Sleep,” he said, his voice softer than usual as his fingers brushed my damp copper
He turned off the lights and moved toward the door.
hair.
Part of me wanted to ask him to stay, but I knew my place, I was still just a breeder, regardless of tonight’s tenderness.
Yet I couldn’t help noticing how his attitude toward me was changing. Perhaps it was because I would soon carry his heir–a thought that brought both comfort and pain.
In my most hopeful dreams, I imagined it might be something else something to do with the mate bond the wolves spoke of with such reverence.
