CHAPTER 59- They took Kylie
ELIJAH’S POV
I had known from the beginning that she only wanted me to come over to press further on the whole situation. But in spite of what I knew, I still couldn’t keep my distance. Not even after telling myself that it was for the best.
Nevertheless, I was not budging. I had seen her, she was safe, and if she didn’t wait to have anything to do with me after this, it was fine. But she was safe.
“Well, I suppose it will be best if took my leave now, I said, taking a step back.
All she had to do was ask me to stop. To simply tell me that she didn’t care if I told her about my real nature. That she wanted me to stay.
But she didn’t. She simply nodded.
“Starting to believe there isn’t really much left of us.” She said and I shook my head. /
“I’m starting to believe that I’m being manipulated emotionally” I said and she raised a brow.
“That’s quite the accusation, don’t you think?”
“Is it though? Because the way I see it, there can be no us. As long as you don’t get what you want, there can be no us. And I don’t choose that, Kylie. I don’t choose that.”
“Well, I really don’t know what you want me to do, because I have to do what’s best for me.”
“And I respect that. I’ll always do my best to respect your wishes. But right now, being this close to you, and not being able to touch you, or old you? It hurts. It hurts a lot. So I’m going to have to take my leave now,”
She nodded slowly and I turned around to go to the door. It was then that she spoke up.
“I won’t stop though.” I stopped and slowly turned to face her.
“What?” I asked and she shrugged.
“I won’t stop asking. I won’t stop trying to know.”
“That’s fair. But I will do my best, to keep it from you for as long as I can manage. For as long as I’m doing so, I’m keeping you safe.”
“Mmm.” She scoffed and with a slight bow of my head, I turned and went through the door.
I was not the emotional sort, but the whole back and forth with Kylie was definitely beginning to get to me, so I found myself walking to a park and sitting by myself on a bench.
I can’t say for sure how long I was there, but I know at some point I became inwardly restless. Which was strange, because I hardly ever felt this way.
“What is this feeling?” I asked out loud, rubbing my hand against my chest, and sucked in a sharp breath when I felt a twinge of pain.
“Mate. It’s our mate. She’s in trouble.” Fio whined and I looked toward the path of had just come from.
“Kylie!” I shouted and quickly stood up from the bench. I had never experienced such a thing, but if indeed it was because Kylie was in trouble, I really didn’t have much time to waste.
I raced back to her apartment and found her door wide open.
“Kylie?!” I yelled for her as I ran into her house, looking through every nook and cranny, but she was nowhere to be found.
“She’s not here. She’s not here!” I repeated, pressing my hands to my temples, on the brink of losing my mind.
“We can trace her scent. Let’s do that, we don’t have much time!” Fio ordered and I nodded. Tracing her scent, that made
sense.
I went to her room and picked up a shirt from her dirty laundry. Her scent would be sharpest on that shirt just worn it.

I took a big whiff, the scent filling my senses and registering in my mind. Suddenly I regretted walking out on her the way I did earlier.
“No time for regrets.” I chastised myself and placed the

“I’ll find her,” I promised myself as I left her apa.
Her scent led me to an old abandoned house off campus, and from the other scents I perceived, it was evident that a couple of rogues lived there.
“I should have known. “I whispered to myself as rage filled me. She had been taken by rogues.

CHAPTER 59. They took kyle
I suppose they had gotten sick and tired of lurking, and perhaps I had been so caught up in my feelings that I had not smelled them earlier.
So I had two plans. One was I could decisively figure out a way to find Kylie without making a scene, while the other plan was to simply storm the place and say to hell with whoever tried to get in my way.
The only problem with the second option was that it could actually get Kylie into some kind of trouble, so I decided to go with the first option. Although, diplomacy wasn’t my strongest suit.
Finding Kylie wasn’t the hardest part. But I found her bound up, surrounded by rogs, keeping watch for her. As though they waited for something… or someone.
“Our mate,” Fio whined and I had to soothe.
Til save her. Don’t worry.” I told him and blew out a breath.
But I hated seeing her in the condition I saw her. She was sitting on a chair, with both her hands and feet bound up. She looked worn, like she had put up a fight over and over again and had been put down each time.
Anger filled me just thinking about it, and I vowed that each and every person in this place was going to pay.
I needed a distraction. Something to get the rogues away from her at least.
I looked around me, searching for something, and found a watering can. It was my only option at that moment, so I took it, tossed it against a wall, and watched as all of the rogues stirred.
If I was going to fight with them, I at least had to do so with them being very far from Kylie.
“Who’s there?” One yelled, getting closer and closer to where I crouched.
“Come get it.” I whispered as he got closer. I picked up a rod when he stood in front of me, and with all the rage and anger in me, I whacked him from behind and watched as his knees buckled and he fell forward.
“Mike!” One of his other cronies called and waited for them. This time I was standing, with my free hand changed into claws, very far away from Kylie’s line of view.
I waited till he was closer before I grabbed and when he yelled I twisted his neck and tossed him to the side.
By this time, all the rogues present were alarmed and I made a run for it. Hoping, just hoping I could lure them all away from Kylie.
“You all run like girls!” I announced when we were out in the open field.
“Ahh, Alpha Elijah.” One of the drawled with a sly smile, “We’ve been expecting you.“. He said aed shifted.
“And so, here I am,” I said and shifted too.
