‘Understood.”
As expected, the Alpha’s entourage arrived promptly later that day. When their luxury convoy drove up the castle’s long driveway, Nathan and I went out to greet them.
I wasn’t sure what would happen, but they all ended up the same way–a power play between forces.
Alpha Raymond was a lean man who, although about the same height as Nathan, was more refined. His wealth was evident as he stepped from his black luxury sedan.
“Alpha Raymond, welcome to Ironjaw,” Nathan said.
“Thank you for your hospitality,” Raymond replied, his smile showing all his white teeth, though his eyes held no warmth.
As Raymond turned, he extended his hand to a tall, dark–haired woman behind him. She was indeed beautiful, dressed in an impeccably tailored suit, everything about her screaming calculation and ambition.
When she stared at Nathan, her eyes sparkled with assessment.
“This is my daughter, Madison,” Raymond said with a smile. “We hope to establish closer ties with the King through her. She has strong Alpha bloodlines and would bring tremendous value to any Alpha desiring powerful alliances.”
Nathan’s tension infected me, and I quickly smiled. “We welcome you and Madison. Please follow me, and I’ll show you to your
rooms.”
I knew it was best not to let Nathan continue this political small talk. He wasn’t a conversationalist, and from Raymond’s comments it was obvious he would try to arrange a marriage between his daughter and Nathan.
And Nathan had zero interest right now–he needed an heir, not a wife.
“We’re hosting a dinner tonight to welcome you,” Nathan said flatly.
As we walked up the stairs, Madison’s elegant yet slightly provocative voice came from behind me. “I loo know you better later, Nathan.”

I glanced between them, then at Nathan. He didn’t like anyone using his name unless permitted. I watched him stop in the middle
of the hallway, but before he could react, I stepped in to correct her.
“Miss, in Ironjaw, he is referred to as Alpha,” I quickly intervened.
Alpha Raymond turned to her, completing my sentence. “Yes, Madison, you should know better… but we’re in Ironjaw. Not our Goldshore. Be a polite Alpha’s daughter.”
“Miss, Alpha Nathan often has late night meetings and border security matters. His wing might not be the quietest for guests. Don’t worry, the guest rooms we’ve prepared for you are equally comfortable,” I said, trying to smooth things over.
Raymond nodded with a smile. “Please forgive my daughter. Long journeys often wear down one’s patience. We’ll get settled in and
meet you for dinner at seven.”
Nathan, however, said, “Don’t worry.”
I sighed, walking toward the Luna Suite in the castle. It was clearer now that I needed to inform Rachel about the visitors.

I raised my fist and knocked on the suite door.
Rachel opened it. “Tyler?”
“Yes… I just wanted to make sure you have everything you need tonight and inform you of a situation.”
Victoria had already told Rachel about their guests staying for a few days. My friend had suggested she shouldn’t leave the Luna Suite to avoid unwanted attention.
I felt bad making such a request, but fortunately, she was the most understanding woman I’d ever met.
“You don’t need to explain–I understand,” she assured me. “Don’t worry, I’ll stay in the suite. Emma already brought me several new books and some harp music.”
“Well then. good night. If you need anything, contact Victoria through the mind link.”
Rachel nodded in thanks, and after she closed the door, I stood there, shaking my head.
