Chapter 6
Rachel’s POV
My father’s deception crashed over me in waves. Not a maid, not even a servant–a breeder. My body reduced to nothing more than a vessel…..
“No, please don’t do this, I begged, my voice breaking as I clutched the thin hospital blanket. I can work hard. I’ll pay back every cent you gave him, Please… anything but a broeder.”
My throat constricted as tears threatened to spill. I must. I must gave myself for my mate. Please…”
Nathan remained seated beside me, his tur relaxed yet commanding. Those gray eyes, already cold, turned glacial as he regarded my outburst with thinly veiled irritations.
No Sympathy softened his chiseled features, nu mercy in the hard line of his mouth.
The silence that followed screamed louder than any words could. No one, moved to help me–not Tyler, not Emma, not even Victoria They were all Iron Jaw Pack members first, loyal to their Alpha above all else.
Panic surged through me, primal and overwhelming. I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think I just needed to escape.
In one desperate motion, I flung the blanket aside and slid from the bed. My feet hit the cold floor and I lurched forward, aiming for the door. But my legs, weak from malnutrition and abuse, betrayed me almost instantly.
“No! Let me go!!” I screamed as strong hands caught me before I could fall completely.
My legs buckled beneath me, and I collapsed to the floor despite the guards grip on my arms. I frantically scanned the room, searching for any sympathetic face, any possible ally, though I knew deep down there was none to be found.
Victoria stepped forward, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.
“She needs time, Alpha, Victoria said softly, her eyes fixed on Nathat. She’s suffered too much today–any more distress will lead to a complete breakdown. Besides, you’ve seen her condition. She’s physically incapable of handling the role of a breeder right now due to the long–term abuse…
Emma approached cautiously, clipboard pressed to her chest. “Alpha, f I may interrupt. I’m still waiting for some test results to
come back…”
She cleared her throat professionally. “However, from what I can see how, Rachel is malnourished, sleep–deprived, and has suffered extensive abuse. Some internal injuries appear old and recurring. Please allow me time to restore her health to a condition suitable for pregnancy.”
“Yes, the bruises are all over her body… Victoria added, her voice traing off as Nathan’s expression darkened.
Emma continued, undeterred. “In my professional opinion, Alpha… I believe Rachel needs time to heal her wounds. I don’t want to see what might happen to her or the child if she doesn’t recover properly.”
Hot tears welled, stinging my eyes and blurring my vision. The bitter, agonizing thought struck me with fresh pain: No Alpha, no true leader, would ever permit their beloved daughter to be subjected to this… excepit, inexplicably, my own father.
A wave of raw, aching sadness washed over me, mingling with the fear and making my trembling worse.
“Enough!” Tyler’s sharp whisper cut through my thoughts.

Chapter 6
I looked up to see Alpha Nathan’s previously expressionless face now clouded with gathering anger, his brow furrowed deeply. The atmosphere in the room charged with tension, like the air hore ligning strikes.
I realized Tyler had silenced Victoria to protect her, to prevent her fom incurring Nathan’s punishment. The thought of someone else suffering because of ine was unbearable.
I wiped my tears and used the edge of the bed to pull myself up onto trembling legs. I couldnt let Victoria and Emmi fare that man’s wrath for trying to help me.
I took a deep breath, forcing my voice to steady. “Please, Alpha… I can repay my father’s debt. I swear I will”
My words successfully drew his attention away from Victoria, though Umediately regretted it as those eyes locked onto mine.
His silence terrified me more than any shouting could have. The cold light in his eyes made me shiver involuntarily
Had my legs not been so painful and weak, I wouldn’t have been able to stop myself from running again.
But there was nowhere to run,l–had to be strong. Even as I leaned against the bed for support, even as his piercing gaze made my heart race, 1 straightened my spine and used every oupce of courage look back at him.
“Let me pay back my father’s debt…” My voice was weak but my tone determined. “I will work day and night, I’ll do the hardest tasks, however long it takes a year, two years, ten years. Please, just tell me how much…”
The silence stretched for several excruciating seconds. Alpha Nathan stared at me, his gaze penetrating as if he could see through to my soul.
Just when I thought I might collapse, I saw his eyebrow arch slightly Even in such a tense moment, I couldn’t help noticing how handsome he was, and my heart skipped a beat despite everything.
The Alpha simply glanced at Tyler and commanded, “Tell her.”
Tyler stepped forward immediately. “Miss, I’m afraid this is an amount you could never repay. Your father’s accumulated debt totals ten million dollars. Alpha Nathan has already paid half…”
My stomach dropped as the number registered.
“If the debt isn’t settled promptly, your father and your pack will be in danger. I hear the creditors aren’t particularly… civilized,” Tyler continued, his expression grim
You see, this isn’t an amount you could repay as a maid, Miss Rache And Alpha Nathan doesn’t need a maid.”
The number echoed in my head like a death knell. Tyler was right–I could never earn that kind of money through any nemal job
“Rachel,” the way Nathan said my name sent shivers across my skin, Hé casually adjusted his cuffs, looking down at me. “You have two choices. Become my breeder, or….

I understood what the alternative meant–my father would be torn art by savage creditors, my pack would be decimated in retaliation, hundreds of innocent people would die because I made cowardly choice.
I took a deep breath. If this was the only option, so be it.
As Alpha Nathan pulled open the door to leave, I heard him issue a command to Emma. “You have three weeks.”
My deadline.
