Chapter 5
“They have different styles. One is like a peony, bright and stunning, while the other is pure and graceful, like an orchid.”
Tina Susan smiled calmly. “It’s just fate. When I was younger, people used to say I looked like the famous actress Chilly Brown.”
Those who caught the underlying meaning of her words exchanged knowing glances.
Indeed, Tina Susan was very young only 21, just out of university. She was a natural beauty, pure and untainted by the world.
She came from a well–off family, receiving the best education and training since childhood. The elegant confidence and composure she carried made her shine like a star.
Chilly Brown, on the other hand, was only 29, but her years in the entertainment industry and her work with cosmetic procedures made her a more complex figure.
She came from a humble background, entering the acting world at a young age, and lacking in education, which
gave her an empty feeling to some.
Temperament was something that came from within – and it often became apparent when compared.
Someone tried to smooth things over. “Let’s go enjoy the buffet! Red wine and white wine, help yourselves.”
The crowd dispersed, holding drinks and socializing, forming small groups to chat.
Lynne Frank wrapped his arm around Tina Susan’s waist and whispered, “What do you want to eat or drink?”
At events like this, no one was here for the food and drink.
Tina Susan, unfamiliar with everyone, felt awkward. “Let’s sit by the window.”
Lynne Frank got her favorite red wine and some desserts, staying by her side, but his gaze was still fixed on Chilly Brown, who was socializing with everyone.
Chilly Brown was radiant, chatting with reporters and media professionals, then with a few producers and screenwriters, drinking with them.
Then, she started conversing with two major directors in the film industry.
She wanted to develop her career in China, and these top–tier directors were key contacts.
With alcohol in play, everyone was chasing fame and fortune, some trying to get closer to he
daries.
Lynne Frank’s face grew darker as the temperature dropped.
At first, he’d tried to resist his jealousy, but now, the atmosphere had become so tense, he could hardly contain his

feelings.
Tina Susan saw one of the directors‘ hands resting on Chilly Brown’s lower back, while the other director handed her a large glass of brandy.
Lynne Frank could no longer sit still. He stood up abruptly, stormed over, and snatched the glass of alcohol from her
hand.
His face was cold as he spoke, “Have you forgotten what the doctor said? No more drinking!”
His voice was so stern that the room fell silent, and everyone turned to look at him.
Chilly Brown, slightly tipsy, smiled, her beauty even more captivating
“Lynne, you’re always so cautious. Don’t worry, I know my limits,” she said playfully.
One of the drunken directors laughed, “Lynne, you’re so deep in love with her. Remember when she had that kissing scene? You almost caused a scene on set!”
A drunken friend chuckled as well, “That’s right! Lynne’s a hopeless romantic–once he falls in love, it’s all in, heart and soul!”
Chilly Brown quickly tried to explain, “You’re all mistaken, my stomach isn’t great. He’s just worried I might have another bleed.”
Lynne Frank instinctively glanced at Tina Susan, then looked around at the gossiping eyes of the others. Grabbing Chilly Brown’s hand, he pulled her toward the door. “Let’s go talk outside.”
Tina Susan’s heart twisted with complicated emotions.
Lynne Frank was five years older than her, always mature and composed, aloof and dignified. He had always handled everything with calm detachment.
She never expected to see him lose control like this, especially not in such a public setting!
It felt like everyone was watching her, sneaking glances, and she became uncomfortable under their stares.
She stood up and walked out onto the terrace.
The air was cool, and there were no lights outside.
The light from the banquet hall spilled out, casting long shadows.
She sat down on a chair in the corner, and as she lifted her gaze, she saw Lynne Frank and Chilly Brown arguing by the flowerbed.
After a while, Lynne Frank turned and walked away in anger.
