Chapter 306 Mate Meeting

“Why did you tell Dad we had to leave?” I ask Noah and I see the smile fall from his face, I think I know what he has on his mind. It is something that has been running through my mind ever since breakfast and I don’t like it one bit, as a matter of fact in right down hate that thought. Anton could tell us apart and that makes the idea of Alayah being our Mate a lot smaller, something Miku definitely doesn’t want to hear.
“Besides Alayah, there are now three other people that can tell us apart.” Noah responds and for a moment I just look at him. “Marc looked at each of us as he mentioned our names and he looked at the right Brother every time. It might be time to accept that the connection our Lycans felt is that of the sibling bond, I hate the idea as much as Eiji does but I fear we might need to attend the next Mate meeting.
As the future Gamma and Deltas of this Pack we need to find our Mate soon and we better hope we get to do that before we have to take over Autumn Moon Pack. It will be another four to five months to the next Mate meeting and I am not looking forward to it, I actually hate thinking about it.” Noah says and I hear Miku whimper in my head, even though we both know that Noah is right.
We will be stronger with our Mate or Mates by our side and having our Mate will make our Pack a lot stronger, but just the thought of going to the Mate meeting is enough to piss Miku off. The Mate meeting was the Council of Elders way to help us find our Mate, but over the years it has become known for the amount of chosen couples is produced and none of us is willing to settle for a chosen Mate. Most females that go for a chosen Mate are power hungry females and they are not known for dealing with their new position the way they should.
We have heard stories from Alpha Gordon about chosen couples that met at the Mate meeting and it is one of the reasons why he was reluctant to let Crystal attend it, but for her it turned out to be the best decision ever. I remember one particular story he told us and I still hate to think about it, even though it turned out fine in the end.
An old friend of Alpha Gordon had lost his Mate and after almost a decade he had decided to give the Mate meeting a chance, hoping to find himself a Luna who could help him out the way his first Mate had done. He returned home with a Mate, but it was announced to the Pack as being a forced mating. He had met a female at the Mate meeting and she had made sure that several people had seen her leave his room in the early hours of the morning.
She claimed that they had mated and the Council of Elders had asked for witnesses, which of course there were. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her, but she wasn’t his Mate and he had made that very clear to her. Once they came home he had called a few Warriors into his office and ordered them to protect his Son at all times, they were to keep a close eye on their future Alpha.
For about two years the Warriors had nothing to report and even though she wasn’t a Luna in every sense of the word people said she did her best. When they found out she was expecting a Pup both of them were happy, but that all changed when one evening during dinner she asked him when he would announce the heir to the Pack. She blew a gasket when he said that the Pack already had their heir and that their Pup could only become an Alpha or Luna if his or her Mate would inherit a Pack.
It didn’t take long before one of the Warriors started to notice a change in his future Alpha, the boy became a quiet and withdrawn Pup and after a few days of watching him the Warrior took him to see his Sister, the Pack doctor. He didn’t take him to the infirmary but to his Sister’s cottage, knowing there would be a paper trail if he walked into the infirmary and not to mention that people would see them walking into the infirmary.
It took the Warrior and his friends about three days to find out how their future Alpha had been poisoned.

sentenced her to death and after she gave birth to her Daughter the sentence was carried out. Alpha Gordon is still good friends with the Alpha and two years ago he called our Alpha to tell him he had found his second Mate.
Yeah, I am not sure if I want to attend a Mate meeting. I think my Brothers and I need to make a full proof plan to prevent something like that happening to one of us, I know I wouldn’t attend one of those meetings without my Brothers and I know I will never let one of them attend a me meeting on their own.
“Nero.” Noah says as he pushes against my arm. “Where the hell did you go?” He asks and I tell them I was thinking about the stories Alpha Gordon told us, “I think none of us should ever attend one of those meeting on our own, we need to keep each other safe. I am not sure how we can make sure no one can trick us into a forced bond, but I know we have to talk about this. Especially if we are going to attend a Mate meeting.” I say the last sentence in a whisper.
I spend last weekend watching Alayah and I know she is the kind of female that would never try to trick a male, she would rather stay single for the rest of her life.
“You’re right, Nero. We need to talk about this, but right now I am still holding on to the hope that Alayah is our Mate.” Nikolay mumbles as he keeps looking at his hands, I think it will affect Nikolay the most if it turns out that the connection we feel to Alayah isn’t that of a Mate–bond or if it turns out that only one of us has a Mate-bond with her.
