Chapter Sixty Eight
Damien’s POV
“Hey, Bon–Bon, did you miss Daddy?” I asked my daughter tenderly.
But my attention was on the quiet couple. How dare they dine as a happy family where my business associates could see them?
Bonnie nodded in response to my question, picking at her vegetables with an air of disinterest that rubbed me up the wrong way. Was Celeste’s plan to make our daughter forget me?
Over my dead body.
“Daddy missed you so much.” I cooed, taking the empty seat beside Ryan. “Mommy must have brought you here, hoping you’d run into me.”
Bonnie shook her head. “Uncle Ryan is treating us to dinner”
I glared at the composed man next to me. “Is the plan to plant a roach in your food so you can have a taste of the life you can’t afford?”
“For god’s sake, Damien.” Celeste lowered her voice, but it was still biting. “You are disturbing what was a lovely meal.”
“I just want to see my daughter.” I said reasonably and leaned into my backrest.
Anger flashed across her face, and my lips twitched into a smirk.
“Please leave, Damien. Your presence is unwanted.” She said disdainfully.
I folded my arms over my chest. “If you chase me away, who will settle the bill when your date’s card declines?”
“Do I need to call security to escort you out?” She hissed, clutching the edge of the table.
“Try me.” My voice was dark with danger. “We’ll see who they’ll kick out. Some fake wannabe or a loyal patron.‘
“Please don’t fight!” Bonnie’s little voice broke through the tension.
A mocking smile twisted my lips as Celeste backed down.
“Here, Bon–Bon.” I said, pushing the golden bowl towards my daughter. “Daddy ordered this 4,000 yuan caviar specially for you.”
I glanced at Ryan, who was all fun and games until I arrived and smirked–he finally knew his place.
“The scraps this man was forcing you to eat can’t compare to this delicacy.” I told her.
Bonnie looked at the amber colored roe, hesitating.
“Don’t worry.” I said, picking up a spoon. “Your Daddy only gives you the very best.”
She slowly opened her mouth, and I fed her a spoonful. Her scrunched forehead smoothed as she sighed in contentment and I quirked an eyebrow at Ryan..
“It’s delicious, isn’t it Bon–Bon?” I asked.
Bonnie nodded enthusiastically. “It’s so yummy! Can I have some more?”
“Of course, my princess, this whole bowl is just for you.” I smiled, feeding her spoonful after spoonful.

Chapter Sixty Eight-
Ryan shifted beside me. “I think that’s enough–too much can cause an upset stomach.”
1 scoffed and fed her an especially heaped spoonful.
“What do you know about caviar and fine dining?” I scornfully asked the meddling jerk.
His eyes flashed with disapproval, and his jaw clenched as be bit his tongue–the first sign of intelligence he’s
shown since we met.
“Daddy, what’s this for?” Bonnie asked; picking up the shell beside her bowl.
“It’s just a decoration.” I said. “Would you like more?”
She nodded, and I fed her another bite.
“Please, Damien,” Ryan blabbed again. “I don’t mean to step on toes, but I’m concerned about how Bonnie will react to so much caviar in one sitting.”
I put the spoon down with a clang and turned to face him.
“Don’t pretend to know what you’re talking about–it’s pathetic. I doubt you’ve even seen caviar before.” I said, pissed at his ignorant pestering. “I’ll feed my daughter however I like.”
I gave her another bite, and she chewed it happily.
Ryan sighed. “I’m just looking out for Bonnie.”
“Maybe you should slow down, Damien.” Celeste chimed in “If Ryan’s right, Bonnie-”
I cut her off with a hand and signaled a waiter. They were barking up the wrong tree, and it was time to set them straight.
“You’re clearly ignorant of the finer things in life.” I said, then turned to the waiter. “Please educate this gentleman on the correct caviar etiquette.”
The waiter looked uncomfortably between us before opening his mouth.
“That’s unnecessary.” Ryan said, a hardness to the set of his jaw. “But I will kindly correct your blunder.”
I gave him a ridiculing chuckle. “This should be good.”
“Caviar is highly reactive. It should be eaten with the shell provided because a metal spoon would taint its flavor.” He said matter–of–factly.
I turned to the waiter, who had the nerve to nod in agreement.
“That’s correct, sir. Using a metal spoon would be a rookie mistake.” He said, amusement coloring his voice.
Heat crawled up my neck as I felt the sharp sting of embarrassment.
“That will be all.” I waved the waiter away with an icy glare.
That know–it–all loser must have worked as a waiter before worming his way into our lives as Celeste’s assistant.
“Is that true, Uncle Ryan?” Bonnie asked sweetly.
He ruffled her hair. “It is, so please trust me and don’t eat more caviar, okay, Bons? I don’t want you to get sick.”
She nodded diligently and pushed the dish away.
The interaction filled me with a possessive rage like no other.
