Chapter 90
Mira’s POV
+9 Points >
The next morning, I woke up feeling light and happy. For the first time in weeks, my heart wasn’t heavy with worry or fear. Killian had asked for my dad’s blessing, and he had given it. It felt like a dream.
As I sat by Killian’s side, helping him with his breakfast even though he kept insisting he could do it himself, the door opened. I turned to see Luna Marinette and Alpha Roger walking in. My heart skipped a beat. I
quickly stood up, feeling nervous.
“Mira,” Luna Marinette said warmly, smiling as she approached me. “How are you, dear?”
“I’m fine, Luna,” I replied, offering her a small smile. “It’s nice to see you.”
She pulled me into a gentle hug. “I heard the news,” she said, pulling back to look at me with shining eyes. Killian has asked for your hand, hasn’t he?”
”
I blushed, glancing at Killian, who was sitting up in bed with a sheepish smile. “Yes, he did,” I said softly.
“I’m so happy!” Luna Marínette exclaimed, clapping her hands together. “You’ll officially be part of our family, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’ve always thought of you as a daughter, and now it’ll be official.”
“Thank you, Luna,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Her kind words made me feel warm inside.
Alpha Roger stepped forward then, his expression serious but kind. “Mira,” he said, his deep voice filling the room. “I came to see you because we need to talk about the wedding.”
“The wedding?” I repeated, my heart skipping a beat.
“Yes,” he said with a nod. “We’ve decided that the wedding preparations will start today, and you and Killian will be married next week.”
“Next week?” I asked, my eyes widening in surprise. “That’s so soon!”
Alpha Roger chuckled. “I know it’s short notice, but don’t worry. We’ll handle everything. The pack will come together to make sure it’s perfect.”
Luna Marinette placed a comforting hand on my arm. “Don’t stress, dear. We’ll take care of all the details. Tomorrow, you and I will go shopping for your dress and anything else you’ll need. It’ll be fun!”
I nodded slowly, still trying to wrap my head around it. “Okay,” I said. “If you’re sure we can get everything
done in time.”
“We’re sure,” Luna Marinette said with a smile.
Alpha Roger glanced at his watch. “I have a meeting to attend,” he said. “But I wanted to stop by and let you know the plan. Killian, Mira, congratulations again.”
“Thank you, dad,” Killian said, his voice steady.
The Alpha nodded and left the room, leaving me alone with Luna Marinette and Killian.
Luna Marinette pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down, looking between the two of us with a teasing smile. “So,” she said, her tone light. “How does it feel to be engaged?”
I blushed, glancing at Killian. “It feels… surreal,” I admitted. “I still can’t believe it’s happening.”

“It’s real, Mira,” Killian said, reaching for my hand. “And I couldn’t be happier.”
Luna Marinette’s smile widened. “You two are adorable,” she said. “I can already tell you’ll make a wonderful
Luna, Mira.”
“Thank you,” I said, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. “I’ll do my best.”
“Oh, you’ll be amazing,” she said confidently. “And tomorrow, we’ll make sure you look the part. We’ll find the perfect dress, jewelry, everything. It’ll be a day to remember.”
Killian cleared his throat, and I turned to see a faint blush on his cheeks. “Mom, don’t embarrass us,” he said,
his voice low.
Luna Marinette laughed. “Oh, Killian, I’m your mother. It’s my job to embarrass you,” she said playfully.
I couldn’t help but laugh, and even Killian smiled despite his blush.
“You know,” Luna Marinette said, leaning back in her chair. “When Killian was little, he used to talk about
finding his mate all the time. He said he wanted someone strong, someone who could challenge him.”
“Mom,” Killian groaned, covering his face with his hand.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Really?” I asked, looking at him with a smile.
“He did,” she said, ignoring Killian’s protests. “And look at him now. He found exactly what he was looking for.
Killian dropped his hand and looked at me, his eyes soft. “I did,” he said quietly. “I really did.”
My heart swelled at his words, and I squeezed his hand.
Luna Marinette sighed, a dreamy look on her face. “You two are perfect for each other,” she said. “I can’t wait to see you get married.”
“Thank you, Luna,” I said, my voice filled with gratitude.
“Now,” she said, standing up. “I should let you two rest. Tomorrow will be a big day. Get some sleep, Mira. You’ll need your energy.”
“I will,” I promised.
Luna Marinette leaned down and kissed Killian’s forehead. “Rest well, son,” she said. “And no overexerting yourself, understand?”
“Yes, Mom,” Killian said with a small smile.
She gave us one last smile before leaving the room, closing the door softly behind her.
I turned to Killian, my emotions swirling. “This is really happening,” I said, my voice filled with wonder.
“It is,” he said, pulling me closer. “And I can’t wait to marry you, Mira.”
I rested my head against his shoulder, feeling his warmth and strength. “I can’t wait either,” I said softly. “Next week can’t come fast enough.”
The room grew quiet after Luna Marinette left. I sat back down by Killian’s side, my emotions swirling with excitement and nerves. The idea of getting married next week still felt like a whirlwind, but the thought of spending my life with Killian made my heart swell.

Killian shifted slightly on the bed, wincing a bit but smiling at me. “Are you okay?” I asked softly, brushing at
strand of hair out of his face.
“I’m fine,” he said, his voice gentle. “But… there’s something I need to do. Something I should have done
earlier.”
I frowned slightly, tilting my head in confusion. “What is it?”
Killian slowly pushed himself up, ignoring my protests. “Killian, you need to rest,” I said, reaching out to steady him.
“I will, I promise,” he said with a small smile. “But first…”
To my surprise, he swung his legs over the side of the bed and carefully got down on one knee. My breath caught in my throat as I realized what he was doing.
“Killian…” I whispered, my hands flying to my mouth.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. My heart raced as he opened it to reveal a sparkling diamond ring that caught the light beautifully.
“Mira,” he began, his voice steady but filled with emotion. “From the moment I realized what you mean to me, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. You’ve shown me what love truly is. You’ve made me a better man. I can’t imagine my life without you in it.”
Tears welled in my eyes as he continued.
“I know I’ve made mistakes,” he said, his voice softening. “And I’ve hurt you in the past. But I promise to spend every day making up for it. I’ll cherish you, protect you, and love you for as long as I live.”
He held up the ring, his eyes locking with mine. “Mira, will you marry me?”
I stared at him, my heart so full it felt like it might burst. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I nodded, my voice barely above a whisper. “Yes,” I said. “Yes, Killian, I’ll marry you.”
His face lit up with the brightest smile I had ever seen. He carefully slid the ring onto my finger, and I held it up, marveling at how perfect it was.
“It’s so beautiful,” I said, my voice trembling with emotion. “Killian, it’s perfect.”
“Not as perfect as you,” he said softly, rising to his feet. He cupped my face in his hands, his thumbs gently wiping away my tears.
I laughed through my tears, leaning into his touch. “You didn’t have to go through all this trouble,” I said.
“I did,” he replied, his voice firm but loving. “You deserve nothing less, Mira.”
He leaned in and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to my lips. When he pulled back, his forehead rested against
mine.
“You’ve made me the happiest man alive,” he said.
“And you’ve made me the happiest woman,” I replied, my heart overflowing with love.
We stayed like that for a moment, wrapped in each other’s arms, the world around us fading away. The ring on my finger sparkled, a beautiful symbol of our love and the future we were about to build together. “Next week can’t come fast enough,” Killian whispered, his voice filled with excitement.

I smiled, resting my head on his chest. “I agree,” I said softly. “I can’t wait to be your wife.”
