Mira’s POV
+ Points >
Days passed, and Killian slowly began to recover. The color returned to his cheeks, and his energy improved
little by little. Each day, I stayed by his side, talking to him, reading to him, and watching him grow stronger. My heart felt lighter every time he smiled or cracked a joke, even if it was a weak one.
One afternoon, as I sat by his bed feeding him a bowl of soup–despite his protests that he could do it
himself–the door opened, and my dad walked in.
“Alpha Killian,” my dad said, his voice calm but filled with authority. He inclined his head slightly, a gesture of
respect I hadn’t seen him give many people.
Killian sat up straighter, wincing slightly as he adjusted his position. “Sir,” he greeted, his tone more formal
than I had expected.
I stood, unsure if I should leave the room, but Killian caught my hand. “Stay,” he said softly, his eyes meeting
mine.
I nodded, sitting back down and watching as my dad pulled up a chair on the other side of the bed.
“I see you’re recovering well,” my dad said, his eyes scanning Killian carefully. “You gave my daughter quite a
scare.”
Killian glanced at me, his expression serious. “I know. I am sorry for worrying her.”
“You should be,” my dad replied, though his tone wasn’t harsh. “Mira means everything to me. I won’t stand for anyone putting her in danger–not even you.”
Killian took a deep breath, his gaze steady. “I understand, sir. And I respect that.” He hesitated, then continued, “Which is why I wanted to speak to you today. There’s something important I need to say.”
My heart started pounding. I had no idea what Killian was about to do, but the intensity in his voice made my stomach twist with nerves.
My dad raised an eyebrow, waiting. “Go on.”
Killian’s hand tightened around mine, and he looked at my dad with a seriousness that made the air in the
room feel heavy.
“Sir,” Killian began, his voice steady but filled with emotion, “I want to apologize for the way I have treated Mira in the past. I was a fool. I didn’t see what was right in front of me, and I hurt her with my words and my actions. I have spent every moment since regretting what I did.”
My dad’s expression didn’t change, but I could see the tension in his jaw. He didn’t respond, so Killian
continued.
“I was blind to how special she is, how strong and kind and selfless. I didn’t deserve her then, and I’m not sure I do now, but… Killian’s voice faltered for a moment, and he glanced at me before looking back at my dad. “But I love her. More than anything in this world.”
Tears pricked my eyes, and I bit my lip, trying to hold them back. Killian’s words were raw and honest, and they hit me right in the heart.

Killian took another deep breath, his grip on my hand tightening. “That’s why I’m asking for your blessing, Sir. I want to marry Mira. I want to spend the rest of my life proving to her–and to you–that I can make her happy, that I can take care of her the way she deserves.”
The room went silent. My dad’s eyes were fixed on Killian, unreadable. My heart was pounding so hard I was sure they could both hear it.
Finally, my dad leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. “That’s a bold request,” he said, his
voice calm but firm. “You’ve hurt my daughter before. How do I know you won’t do it again?”
Killian didn’t hesitate. “Because I have changed,” he said, his voice filled with conviction. “Mira taught me
what it means to love someone. She showed me what it means to put someone else first. I can’t imagine a
life without her, and I will spend every day proving that to you.”
My dad studied him for a long moment, then turned to me. “What do you think, Mira? Do you trust him?”
I nodded, my throat tight with emotion. “I do, Dad. Killian’s different now. He’s not the same man he was
before. He’s shown me that he cares, and I believe him.”
My dad looked back at Killian, his expression softening slightly. “You’ve got a lot to prove, Killian. But I can
see that you’re sincere. And I trust my daughter’s judgment.”
Killian sat up straighter, hope flickering in his eyes. “Does that mean…?”
My dad nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. “You have my blessing. But only if you promise me one
thing.”
“Anything,” Killian said immediately.
“Promise me you’ll always put Mira first,” my dad said. “Promise me you’ll take care of her and make her
happy.”
Killian didn’t hesitate. “I promise,” he said, his voice strong. “I’ll spend the rest of my life making her happy.”
Tears spilled down my cheeks as my dad stood, walking around the bed to place a hand on Killian’s shoulder. “Then welcome to the family, son,” he said, his voice warm.
Killian’s face lit up with a smile, and he reached out to shake my dad’s hand. “Thank you, Sir. I won’t let you
down.”
“You’d better not,” my dad said with a chuckle. He turned to me, pulling me into a hug. “He’s a lucky man,
Mira. Don’t let him forget it.”
I laughed through my tears, hugging him tightly. “I won’t, Dad. Thank you.”
As my dad left the room, I turned to Killian, my heart so full it felt like it might burst.
“Did that really just happen?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Killian grinned, his eyes shining with happiness. “It did,” he said, pulling me closer. “I meant every word, Mira.
I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
I smiled through my tears, cupping his face in my hands. “I love you too, Killian,” I said. “And I can’t wait to start our life together.”
Killian leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. “You’re my everything, Mira,” he said. “And I’ll never let you forget it.”
